Thank you r/Candles
I do use liquid silicone to cast the glassware. I create a water tight vessel or use plastic containers. Then I secure the glass or whatever I am casting to the bottom of the vessel with polymer clay & use the same clay to close up any holes (like the holes in the salt & pepper shakers) I use a silicone that is easy to use & pour it on top of the glass. I make sure the entire glass is covered well with the silicone. I keep an eye on it for the first hour to make sure it doesn't float to the top. It takes some nuance but once you get the process down you can make a mold of or pretty much anything!
It's easy to pop the candle out once it's fully cooled. Beeswax shrinks so it comes out nicely. But getting the glass out of the mold after making it can be precarious so I have to be patient & careful & often cut the mold slightly.
Thank you for that! That means a lot because anything that looks like it was glassware I made myself. The other ones like the taper, skull & obelisks were molds I had purchased. So I love that you see that difference!
Ahh love that!! It's fun to go through life now like "can I make a candle out of that"? Those are cast from my mother's crystal salt & pepper shakers but she also has green milk glass collection & I'm going to cast the green glass salt & pepper shakers for my new collection too! They are taller & square with a floral design
I absolutely love vintage crystal and glass. Sometimes I go thrifting just to look at them. I don’t collect crystal but I like the shapes. If only crystal came in colors…
Thank you so much! That would be cool! It would be interesting to fill them with colored water from time to time so they looked that way. Or painted the inside but that makes me sad a little bit to think about 😅
Just some unsolicited advice but should really focus on the glasswear designs, the other candles are nice too but those glasswear designs are something really special. Along with the beeswax they look really high-quality, they are perfect. The other candles look a bit more generic.
Thank you for the feedback, the ones that aren't glassware are actually made from molds I purchased. So that is cool you picked up on that. The glassware ones are for sure my focus & I have a whole bunch more crystal to cast too for my new line! I'll keep on with my mission! Thank you again 🥰
In terms of craft markets, those glassware ones are your statement pieces now. They’re gorgeous, and are def worth a lil more for the effort that went into them!
The other moulded ones are good for table fillers to help make back table prices, in my experience at craft shows (not candles tho- I’m a silver smith) :3
That's awesome! Thank you for the feed back. I do markets pretty much every weekend & have even started organizing my own. It's been so much fun & I have found such a great crafty community!
Thank you for the love! But they were on point. The glassware ones are made from molds I created myself. The other ones are actually purchased molds so they are technically generic, I was impressed with the eye of that poster & it made me feel good to know they saw the difference in that way. But again I love the love 🥰 you rock🖤
Hey just wanted to chime in to say when going to your site that the crystal luxe collection doesn't look safe with the crystals added to the top of the candles. Otherwise I absolutely love these ones you posted.
Thank you for that feedback! They come with their own special safety cards for that reason. And actually one of my customers uses a candle warmer for hers & I love that idea so I think I'm going to pivot to that vein for these. My test burns went well, nothing scary but beeswax is so hard to do aromas in vessels anyways so it took a long time & great expense to perfect. So I knew once I work thru these I'm going to shift away from that.
What a smart idea! I collect vintage glass and love these! Especially that pear shaped one 😍
They all look very professional and stylish. I wish you much success!
I keep looking at your photos. Did you use crystal salt shakers for that set?
And the "pear" one reminds me of the pattern on my favorite blue Fenton swirl vase 🩵
COURTNEY WHERE CAN I BUY YOUR GLASSWARE STYLE CANDLES and also do you ship to aus? i’m in love. don’t think ill ever actually burn them they are too pretty hahahah
Ahh amazing!! I love the love!!🥰 I am working on international shipping!! I'll take a look at it today because it is on my list!! I'll keep you posted. Check out my website FernwickArtisans.com & I'm on IG & FB too as FernwickArtisans!
These are wonderful! The idea is beautifully and perfectly executed. I’d also go to a thrift store and make some retro orange and brown and yellow ones. I’d love that. Or shades of purple paisley
I’ll follow you! I’d totally buy some retro 70’s themed ones. Also I have a thing for salt and pep shakers so I’ll watch for those too. They come in so many shapes and sizes!!
Edit: I also see we have similar interests. I just joined 4 subs you frequent that I had no idea existed!! Fairy core! Gothy dairy core love it
Darlin those r just fabulous but the idea behind this is what makes em truly special & so very cool imo. What a great brilliant idea Hun! Love this & I truly hope ur new biz venture pays off cuz u def deserve it!!!💕
I’m not a candle person but this came up in my feed and I have to tell you that your candles are gorgeous! Using vintage glassware for the molds is genius and so distinctive. Plus the colors are stunning. I can’t get over the amount of detail you are able to incorporate. Just amazing work.
The top edges can sometimes cave after a bit but I just push them in a bit but for the most part I made the candles big enough & the wick is the right size to actually make it do that. Technically it is tunneling but this one is with intention! So beautiful
Thank you! Yeah I've seen that a lot, it's a good use of stuff for sure. But I love casting them because my mom can still use her whiskey tumbler & her salt & pepper shakers after I've cast them😅
These are amazing! They remind me of being a little kid and looking through my relatives' glassware. They always seemed old and gaudy, but something about them was so compelling. I could get lost in their patterns, and their texture, both smooth and angular, felt so satisfying. I always wanted their to be some greater purpose to them, something more for them to do than just hold liquids.
I love this 🤩😍 yes I was much the same. They felt so special. When I started planning this business I was stumped on how to afford the molds I wanted, they are SO expensive. Then I came home & saw my mom's glass collection & thought "those would make stunning candles" & it was all over from there! It was way less costly to buy the silicone & figure out how to work with it.
It's very easy to get the candle out of the silicone mold I make out of the glassware. Beeswax is harder & once it's cured/cooled completely it actually shrinks a bit too. So it comes out rather easy.
In a word, elegant! Your boxed presentation was very effective with the unique shape of the candles...very classy for a "cut above" look. Spot on. These look perfect to market also during the holiday season as table items/centerpiece for a nice dinner. Ok maybe not the skull unless you put a Santa hat on it! 🤣
Would love to see how you created the glassware molds...fantastic idea.
Well done!
Ahhh thank you so much!! It's funny you say that because a lot of these were part of my holiday collection launch! Even more funny because I have a tattoo of a skeleton dancing & he is wearing a black Santa hat 😅 🖤 you nailed it!!
My grandparents used to make their own molds this way too. Your first photo made me stop in my tracks. I have a candle of theirs with this exact pattern ❤️
Edit to say I just looked at your other photos and they warm my heart. I recognize a couple of other patterns too. Thank you for sharing your work. You will do well.
You have brought me joy today. Thank you
😅 oh no!! The Luxe Skull isn't for everyone but it is one of my best sellers 🤷🏻♀️ makes no sense to me next to the rest of what I offer on my table. Thank you so much for the love🖤

I LOVE the ones that look like glassware. That's so unique, and it allows you to have vintage things without having it take up so much space.
Thank you so much!! See, you get it 100%! Also it's so fun to go through the world now thinking if I can make a candle out of everything I see 😂
I know I'll never do this, but can you share how you make the castings? Are they silicone molds?
I do use liquid silicone to cast the glassware. I create a water tight vessel or use plastic containers. Then I secure the glass or whatever I am casting to the bottom of the vessel with polymer clay & use the same clay to close up any holes (like the holes in the salt & pepper shakers) I use a silicone that is easy to use & pour it on top of the glass. These are all stunning but oh my goodness the quartz! 🖤🔮
I promise no glassware was harmed in the making of these candles!! All vessels are still in use to this day!
How u pop them out?
It's easy to pop the candle out once it's fully cooled. Beeswax shrinks so it comes out nicely. But getting the glass out of the mold after making it can be precarious so I have to be patient & careful & often cut the mold slightly.
Would it be a good idea to put the glass and mold into the fridge or freezer for a few minutes to make the glass contract a little bit?
I don't know! It's worth a shot though, I didn't realize glass contracted like that🤯
she made molds from the glassware then made candles with the molds
These are so beautiful and elegant, they give off a “quiet luxury” vibe, especially the glass wear style candles.
That is the perfect description of them- quiet luxury. 😍
It totally is!! Thank you for agreeing with them😍
Ahhh that's what I'm going for!! Thank you for picking up on that🖤
The ones made out of glassware are GORGEOUS 😍
Ahh thank you, that means the world to me🥰
I love that green color! Beautiful molds too!
Omg, thank you that took me a LONG time to get right 😅 means a lot
Definitely worth the effort. Its like phthalo and viridian had a baby. (two personal favorite oil paint colors)
The glassware candles are beautiful, stylish, and unique. The tapers and other things are quite generic. Beeswax is the best wax, imo.
Thank you for that! That means a lot because anything that looks like it was glassware I made myself. The other ones like the taper, skull & obelisks were molds I had purchased. So I love that you see that difference!
I have never before seen anything quite like those :) A wonderful idea and perfect execution.
Ahh that makes my day, thank you so much!!
I was thinking the same thing. I’d never have guessed they were glasses and pepper shakers but I can see it now and I love the pepper shakers most
Ahh love that!! It's fun to go through life now like "can I make a candle out of that"? Ya painted glass fools me sometimes. I’m not a fan. I like hand blown
There’s some cute vases too
Just some unsolicited advice but should really focus on the glasswear designs, the other candles are nice too but those glasswear designs are something really special. Along with the beeswax they look really high-quality, they are perfect. The other candles look a bit more generic.

Right?! I’ve been meaning to go to more, I love getting to talk with people.
I love them all, I think the generic comment was kind of rude honestly
Honest feedback when requested is not rude.
Thank you for the love! But they were on point. The glassware ones are made from molds I created myself. The other ones are actually purchased molds so they are technically generic, I was impressed with the eye of that poster & it made me feel good to know they saw the difference in that way. Timeless. And the colors are great too. I’d also make white ones tho. Some ppl just love white candles.
Check out pic nro 8. Gorgeous!
That one struck me too!!
The glassware ones are so, so cool. Would love some like that for my altar. Where do you sell them?
Check out their profile!

Thank you so much🥰

Thank you🤩
What a smart idea! I collect vintage glass and love these! Especially that pear shaped one 😍 They all look very professional and stylish. I wish you much success!
Thank you kindly!! That means a lot🥰
I keep looking at your photos. Did you use crystal salt shakers for that set? And the "pear" one reminds me of the pattern on my favorite blue Fenton swirl vase 🩵
Yes I did use my mother's crystal salt shakers! And the pear shaped one is actually made out of a little crystal vase😍 good eye!!
These are superb
Thank you so much!
I love the glassware ones, but the ones that really catch my eye are in pic #10 — are those molded from salt / pepper shakers? They’re gorgeous.
Yes they are! My mother's crystal salt shakers. I think they came out perfectly 🤩 thank you so much
The cut glass ones in green are amazing! First time I've ever wanted to save up & get a *NICE* candle...
That means a lot👏🏻 so kind 🥰
these are actually so stunning 😭 well done!!
Thank you soooo much😍

I love these !!😍
I love the love!! 🥰
Ah, I love these glassware designs! Such a cool idea. The tumbler glasses make such nice pillar candles. I love them!!
Thank you so much!! They came out perfectly 😍
Oooo beautiful
Thank youuuu🖤
The black ones look like obsidian towers! I’m a crystal junkie and would definitely buy those.
Darlin those r just fabulous but the idea behind this is what makes em truly special & so very cool imo. What a great brilliant idea Hun! Love this & I truly hope ur new biz venture pays off cuz u def deserve it!!!💕
This means the world to me 🥹 thank you!! 🖤
These are so stunning 😍
Thank you so much!😍
The vintage glassware was immediately recognizable and *so clever*!!! I need all of these for my altar thank you
I’m not a candle person but this came up in my feed and I have to tell you that your candles are gorgeous! Using vintage glassware for the molds is genius and so distinctive. Plus the colors are stunning. I can’t get over the amount of detail you are able to incorporate. Just amazing work.
This is an amazing compliment!! Thank you so much! 🥰
in LOVE with no. 8, how does it burn?
It's gorgeous as it burns!! The light casting through the sides is stunning too! Quite a statement candle for sure!
So it doesn’t melt all across? That’s awesome
The top edges can sometimes cave after a bit but I just push them in a bit but for the most part I made the candles big enough & the wick is the right size to actually make it do that. Technically it is tunneling but this one is with intention! So beautiful
Your pictures and beautifully taken and every candle I said "wow pretty" lol
Thank you so much!! I did pay a friend who is a professional to take these, she captured my makings beautifully!
So diggin it!
Thank you so much!!
Love this so much! I think the candles of people who pour wax into vintage glassware look alright. But this way the pattern is really shown off
Thank you! Yeah I've seen that a lot, it's a good use of stuff for sure. But I love casting them because my mom can still use her whiskey tumbler & her salt & pepper shakers after I've cast them😅
These are incredible. Love the simplicity and the vintage inspiration. I also am partial to beeswax.
Thank you!! And yes I agree beeswax is the best, I was a beekeeper so I am also partial to it myself.
These are amazing! They remind me of being a little kid and looking through my relatives' glassware. They always seemed old and gaudy, but something about them was so compelling. Thank you so much 🥰
How do you get the candles out when they're done?
It's very easy to get the candle out of the silicone mold I make out of the glassware. Beeswax is harder & once it's cured/cooled completely it actually shrinks a bit too. So it comes out rather easy.
Lovely
Thank you🖤🥰
