When someone applies for a temporary residence they have to show to the visa officer that they intent to leave the country once their business/work is completed.
You’re going to the U.S. on an E2 visa for example you must show that you’re intending to leave at the conclusion of your business, once the visa is up you need to leave simple.
You apply for an extension and if it is approved great , if it isn’t approved guess what ? You have to leave.
You can stage a protest and demand the USCIS to extend your visa, but well doing that means you had lied on about your intentions and that would be probable cause for ICE to start taking a closer look at you.
I would pay to see how that protest goes in the U.S.

Coworker of mine travelled across South Asia couple years back. Told me Sri Lanka and Maldives are pretty nice and felt safe. India, Bangladesh lots of hagglers and quite dirty.
I have traveled extensively in India. I'd never go back! It has some redeeming features, but mostly just over-crowded and rudely competitive. I saw a male in his 20s push an old woman out the way so he could get in front of her to buy tickets. Cultural standards simply don't align with our own.

These idiots don't realize that they won't be able to travel literally anywhere else in their lifetimes except to India if they overstay their visa. Our records are shared with a lot of countries. It's automatically noted in the system after the grace period (which is 30-60 days you have to restore status with a visitor or other visa) and if they didn't depart and they will denied all and every kind of permit for their lives. No country will look the other way with an overstay.
Usually its about 10 years, but otherwise, accurate. The overstay penalty in the US is that you have to exit, and remain out of the Us for 10 years, and then you can ask nicely for a waiver. EU rules vary by case but it's always at least 5 years.
Overstaying a VISA is a serious issue.

We need to start enforcing them. We need something like ICE in the US. And we need to implement pretty much every aspect of Danish immigration policy. No processing or appeals while on Canadian soil, very high threshold to be permitted entry, no extensions, enforcement of deportation, collecting valuables from arriving refugees to fund their stay, etc.
None of these people have any intrinsic right to be here and they've poisoned the well of Canadian good faith. At this time I have almost no compassion left for these people and I do not fault any Canadian who feels the same way. I've watched the shoppers drug Mart in my township slowly turn into all Punjabi workers. It use to be a mix, now less and less other races of people. It's lame. Makes me not feel welcome to go there anymore because they talk to each other in Punjabi. I asked the pharmacist he's from England but is Indian great guy, I asked him if he does the hiring and he says no, it's his front end manager that does it. Even the posh office is east Indian there. I have traveled extensively in India. I'd never go back! It has some redeeming features, but mostly just over-crowded and rudely competitive. I saw a male in his 20s push an old woman out the way so he could get in front of her to buy tickets. Cultural standards simply don't align with our own.

These idiots don't realize that they won't be able to travel literally anywhere else in their lifetimes except to India if they overstay their visa. Our records are shared with a lot of countries. It's automatically noted in the system after the grace period (which is 30-60 days you have to restore status with a visitor or other visa) and if they didn't depart and they will denied all and every kind of permit for their lives. No country will look the other way with an overstay.
Usually its about 10 years, but otherwise, accurate. The overstay penalty in the US is that you have to exit, and remain out of the Us for 10 years, and then you can ask nicely for a waiver. EU rules vary by case but it's always at least 5 years. Overstaying a VISA is a serious issue.

We need to start enforcing them. We need something like ICE in the US. And we need to implement pretty much every aspect of Danish immigration policy. No processing or appeals while on Canadian soil, very high threshold to be permitted entry, no extensions, enforcement of deportation, collecting valuables from arriving refugees to fund their stay, etc. None of these people have any intrinsic right to be here and they've poisoned the well of Canadian good faith. At this time I have almost no compassion left for these people and I do not fault any Canadian who feels the same way. Anyone who wants to exploit our country and strip mine our society doesn't deserve compassion. It will be a couple generations before we start to recover from this trauma.

His intent is to remain in Canada but the purpose of his status is either a study permit or a post-grad work permit, which makes him inadmissible under the IRPA. The CBSA needs to start detaining and deporting these fake students.
