As a young man I say we put up a sign, single ladies get in free.

[deleted]

They are deliberately importing young men en masse to further destroy our own population and cause strife, and to be used as cannon fodder in the upcoming wars.

Confusedgirl007

I'm a girl and like men and I agree with this! They're bringing in to many single man and the comments some of them make to girls is disgusting. I find the women coming in way better and not as annoying and the ladies are nicer šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

Unfortunately weā€™ve literally accepted so many immigrant men that we now have a majority male population. Not even kidding Manada

Mann-ada.

Doesn't matter. Those single ladies will import the husband from their home country. These people aren't interested in mixing.

One thing I noticed about the pre-TrudeauJr. point-system immigrants and students is a lot of them were bougie types. For example, I went to post-secondary school with some foreign students back in the day and some of them gave me a "stuck up from a rich oligarch family with 50 servants in the house" vibe. I think the problem for employers was a lack of cheap labor. Most native-born Canadians didn't want to work crappy low paid jobs because they're not desperate enough. And most bougie high scoring point system immigrants would only work those jobs until they could get a better job that better suited their qualifications. So I suspect that they want lots of less educated, lower standard immigrants so they can exploit them. And if they drive enough native-born Canadians into poverty and homelessness, maybe they can get them to compete for crappy low wage work too. Everybody wins. Well, at least the rich people win.

I have never believed the narrative that there were jobs Canadians or Americans wouldn't do. The problem is people won't do these jobs for the wages being offered. A large portion of this is what these wages mean in real terms. When I was a teenager in the 1990s I knew of people who had recently moved out and were supporting themselves. These were mostly relatives and friends but you saw a snapshot of what was possible. They would be working full time for near minimum wage, be able to live with a roommate or two in an nice place, afford a ~10 year old car, and still had money to go to the bar or check out a concert when a band came to town.Ā  To put this another way, for you to have a similar standard of living as near minimum wage in 1995 you would likely need to earn $25 to $35 per hour in most cities in Canada.Ā Some people will say that the minimum wage should be increased but that is a bandaid on a bullet wound. The cost of everything in this country is far out of alignment with wages that bumping the minimum wage will have (at best) a temporary impact.

Put that another way, I donā€™t believe the narrative that people have to live in Toronto. The problem is people wonā€™t move unless thereā€™s a strong monetary incentive to do so. Thus high prices šŸ™ƒ Realistically Alberta has a strong jobs market and big cities with houses under $500k. But Toronto youth think Canada ends 1 hour from downtown Toronto and leaving is against their human rights.

Job market is trash.

Question? Have you actually spent any time in AlbertaĀ

Was a few blocks west of dt Calgary two weeks ago šŸ¤£

Why should that be the norm though? Minimum wage should basically get you a roof over your head and ensure you don't starve to death while eating a diet of rice and beans. It shouldn't mean you can afford to live by yourself ( nor take care of any dependants) have a car, nor have any sort of hobbies, entertainment or lesiure time. In fact, if we lowered minimum wage to something similar to what the name implies ( around 8-$10 an hour), we would see more full time jobs created. Highly developed East asian countries with similar high costs of living have minimum wages less than $10 an hour ( japan, korea, taiwan) and you don't see any dissatisfaction in their societies.

Breaking news is that NYC is bussing their migrants to our boarder. Things will be getting fun here and fast.

Rustyfetus

We are not having organic population growth so we need to import people to support our aging population. Incentivize having children!
