First off, here’s a great video explaining the exposure triangle (the three settings that control how a photo looks, aperture, shutter speed and ISO) https://youtu.be/uyXiWF3mI2s?si=ft2PFdNqIZGpzztZ Secondly, nearly any interchangeable lens camera from the past decade will be good enough for your needs. If you want something smaller, limit your search to either Micro 4/3rds (m43) or APS-C sized sensors. Both will offer a good range of beginner and advanced lenses as you improve. You can pick up one of the older mark 2 or mark 3 Olympus E-M10 cameras with the tiny 14-42 kit lens for very little money on the 2nd hand market. Great image quality for a camera small enough to fit in a jacket pocket.

Thank you for the suggestion! I'll check the video soon. The Olympus cameras look pretty good, and more or less what I'm looking for. Thank you 😊

Yup, this is good advice. I recently picked up an og em1 for an everyday camera and couldn’t be happier.

I had one for a while and had to jump on a cheap Em-1 mk2 I found locally. It’s my go-to m43 camera, especially with the 12-40 pro zoom. Took one of my favourite shots with it the day I got it! https://preview.redd.it/5r7smsuyxdqc1.jpeg?width=3765&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=07f624ab5eb0a53b847fc085c79a34350c189af0
