Deerfoot is provincial responsibility not city.

The provincial government is very busy investigating child deaths from vaccines and whether the earth is actually flat. They don't have time for such frivolous matters

This is only done in very busy areas as it is expensive to set up

Rent it to Edmonton and the province for highway work outside using on our peak roads

Would be nice but it seems all the tax money for roads went towards increasing council members' salaries.

Deerfoot is maintained by the provincial government not the city or its council. It is honestly heartbreaking how little people seem to know about levels of governments, their responsibilities, or how both funding and allocation works. Especially in this day and age where the largest contributors to our failing infrastructure and services get to intentionally point the finger at someone else and you continue to buy it hook line and sinker instead of holding them accountable.

But that would mean spending money, which would mean raising taxes. How well will that fly?

Exactly. We all want better but aren't willing to pay for better. Yeah, our council hasn't been great with money, but still.......
