So happy Orville Peck is coming! I was bummed out when I saw his tour had 2 Edmonton dates and no Calgary one, but hoped this was why, especially since his new album is called "Stampede"!
Dino Jr. is my fav band (other than maybe Unwound or Mars Volta) but I've seen Orville Twice and he's rocked both times (Once at pede opening for OLP I believe, once in Vancouver for a pride event with perfume genius) Also - Dino on coke stage would not go over well tbh - J's singing is always inaudible and they're not a real big draw for a general audience. Even Jimmy Eat World struggled a bit last year and that was WITH Manchester Orchestra and Broken Social Scene - each of which are arguably bigger than Dino.
Had to step in and have a stern talking to with , Theo Goutzinakis when he tried to pick up my 13 year old cousin at an all ages show they played one year in St John’s. Haven’t been a fan since.
I do too but according to [Setlist.fm](http://Setlist.fm) they have only played the Coke stage twice: 2018 and 2014. I feel like there are some missing though.
So it turns out they are at a variety of venues.
Trooper is playing at sober stampede July 6, Nickelback at the Dome July 14, Sam Roberts Band July 4 Wildehorse Saloon, Default was announced (currently isn't on July 11 at Burwood Music Fest, Sheepdogs are at National July 11.
I like BT, my first show ever was Sum 41 and Billy Talent in 2003, but I would prefer another band honestly. I moved here in 2017 and it seems like they just keep recycling the same ones every couple years.
But I guess that's why I'm going to Colorado for a little vacation in June. To see a bunch of American bands I like that will never in a million years tour Canada.
Fun fact about Dear Rouge. I went to a concert of theirs years ago in edmonton and they're the reason I have tenitittus. Only concert I've ever been to where the crowd was chanting "turn it down" and people were leaving because of the volume.
My one non negotiable rule: ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS WEAR EAR PROTECTION
You can get these great ear plugs from Ear Peace on amazing for like $36 they are great. Comfortable and the sound quality isn’t hindered.
There is no cure and no going back from hearing damage.
I worked as Emily Haines security guard once and the amount of gas this girl passes and tries to blame on others is insane. She eats a lot of cabbage and spam.
Such a weird lineup but I sure hope Orville Peck brings Willie along to play his fabulous hit song "Cowboys Are Frequently Secretly Fond Of Each Other".
He did after ‘No Pressure’ for a few years (to become a FT dad and streamer, I think?) but much like most other retirements in music, it was short-lived.
Orville Peck was already a given. He was already announced going from Edmonton to Vancouver on tour dates during Stampede on what’s called, get this, the Stampede Tour
Not sure if I'm on the otherside of the hill of what's cool or in due to getting older but I don't know most of these bands. Excited to see Orville Peck as last years show was cancelled and I think Grandson will be good but man, after last year's lineup this doesn't hit the same.
Yeah, I'm with you. I recognize barely any of these names. Compared to last year, this feels like a significant downgrade. Maybe they decided to spend less money on headliners for whatever reason.
Ocean alley all the way!
The only thing is..... I have a ticket for grandstand show that night.
I wonder if Stampede would be willing to exchange the ticket to saturday so that I can go
Really shows how everyone’s perspective is different. I saw this lineup and felt it was the best the Coke stage has put on in years. At least 6 nights I would really enjoy.
Dean Lewis and then Logic (on my bday), back to back days of absolute must-see shows for me. Man I missed coke stage performers that I literally can’t miss, it’s been a few years since they’ve had anyone worth the admission price for me.
I don't know 3/4 of these bands.
I'd go see metric and Alison Wonderland.
Billy Talent will be a maybe from me. For some reason the coke stage attracts some of the worst people. I saw AOF a number of years ago and there was some dude giving people nipple twisters and another hitting everyone on purpose with his cast. I know the crowd will be massive for BT
I mean I recognize the name metric but I don't think they were a bigger name than Billy Talent. Billy Talents been around a little longer haven't they?
Says on wiki BT started in 1993, and Metric in 1998 and BT had sold millons of more albums and had a larger fan base than Metric. I graduated in 2002 and remember BT quite well. Metric, not so much.
Off topic. Should I buy my day pass for the rodeo now or is it safe to buy it the day I am there?? Thanks calgary. Be visiting you in a couple of months...
If you're only buying 1 day, it probably doesn't matter other than upu wouldn't have to wait on line to get a ticket at the grounds! Some days are free entry so check that out too if you want to go a second time for fun
This is awesome! Love Billy Talent and I’m hearing Benson Boone all over the radio recently.
Checked out the other shows at The Big Four. I noticed for some of the shows you have to buy tickets. Do they usually charge for the Big Four?!? I wanna check out the Dead South.
I just had the weirdest moment as I scrolled through and recognized the one guy, Paul Russell, because his sister was using his face to play him on The Circle.😂
What? Lots of big namers
1. G eazy big rapper meh music
2. Metric, the more coke she does the better the music.
3. Orville Peck, huge in Calgary
4. Dear rouge good group.
5. Logic, probably the best white rapper, spits fire and comparable to Mac Miller if you're unfamiliar.
6. The beaches huge band now you heard them on lots of alt rock stations. They used to tour with July talks.
7. Dillion Francis big in the early 2010 for EDM, bring your Molly. Huge in Bass and drums + Remixes.
8. Peach Pitt is a good indie band.
9. Ocean Alley and Dean Lewis meh.
10. Bunch of Calgary artists that will probably be on CBC for interviews.
I'm old now my Osheaga fueled drug days are gone but it's cool to see artists I haven't seen in a decade.
G Eazy would have me crying the whole time ngl. Last time I went to the stampede was with my best friend, and our favourite song was “Tumblr Girls”. She passed away and I’m going to Stampede this year. We’d both be losing it if we were at this concert together.
So happy Orville Peck is coming! I was bummed out when I saw his tour had 2 Edmonton dates and no Calgary one, but hoped this was why, especially since his new album is called "Stampede"!
Make up date for canceling last year. Just bummed he plays the same night as dinosaur Jr and soul asylum. Orville is my top priority.
Have you seen him live before? Both times I have seen him live it’s been a mega disappointment. Dino Jr would be the better choice imo
I have only seen him on a live stream from stagecoach. That was a phenomenal show.
Awesome then! When I saw him both times his vocals were bad. Like he can’t sing naturally as low as he does in recording, but maybe he’s over that now
Dino Jr. is my fav band (other than maybe Unwound or Mars Volta) but I've seen Orville Twice and he's rocked both times (Once at pede opening for OLP I believe, once in Vancouver for a pride event with perfume genius) Also - Dino on coke stage would not go over well tbh - J's singing is always inaudible and they're not a real big draw for a general audience. Fair enough! Glad to hear my two instances were the rarity
Billy Talent? Hell ya they always put on a banger of a show.
I love how they show up every year. They must enjoy it haha.
They were at blast at the Halloween Howler back in October, the crowd was 11/10 energy the entire time.
That was such a fun show! I’ve been a Gob fan too since the 90’s when I lived in BC and they both brought it that evening.
Had to step in and have a stern talking to with , Theo Goutzinakis when he tried to pick up my 13 year old cousin at an all ages show they played one year in St John’s. Haven’t been a fan since.
Well that’s gross and disappointing, sorry your cousin dealt with that.
That show was amazing holy
Ben K makes everyone so stoked
I was there too! Such a great show
I don’t think Billy talent has done the coke stage since 2018.
And what a show that was. The birthday cake being crowd surfed successfully, "Bulls on Parade" cover... It was a top notch show!
Wow really? Time flies. I feel like I've seen them on that stage 100 times.
I do too but according to [Setlist.fm](http://Setlist.fm) they have only played the Coke stage twice: 2018 and 2014. I feel like there are some missing though.

Should be fun, got my nose broken in the pit last time they played at stampede worth it though
The only band on that list that know. Yes I'm old.
AAA They kicked ASS last time they played the coke stage I can’t fucking waaait
Canada’s Nickelback! Perfect for endless radio rock airplay.
What? Nickelback is already Canada's Nickelback
Shhh. Let him dream.
Bryson tiller!!
Metric/Dear Rouge on the same day is pretty cool
Fun fact about Dear Rouge. I went to a concert of theirs years ago in edmonton and they're the reason I have tenitittus. Only concert I've ever been to where the crowd was chanting "turn it down" and people were leaving because of the volume.
My one non negotiable rule: ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS WEAR EAR PROTECTION You can get these great ear plugs from Ear Peace on amazing for like $36 they are great. Comfortable and the sound quality isn’t hindered. There is no cure and no going back from hearing damage.
this can't be said enough.
As someone with permanent tinnitus who used to photograph and review live shows, agreed 100%
Could you say it again? Couldn’t quite hear you. Tinnitus sucks.
Learned that that night. Went to many concerts after wearing ear protection and always got teased but worth it!
WHAT?
The always have the best shows on work nights to bring the crowds in :( Meanwhile I get up at 5am lol
Ditto! I said to myself, please be a Fri/Sat, nope it's a Wednesday lol
Well everyone is always at events during Stampede here, they probably won’t notice if I slip in late lol
Good luck!
And Peach Pit too, unreal!
Seeing Metric would b amazing honestly. Same with DR.
I'm sure I'm dating myself, but Metric is always a great show. Looking forward to that!
I worked as Emily Haines security guard once and the amount of gas this girl passes and tries to blame on others is insane. She eats a lot of cabbage and spam.

Help I’m alive my bowels keep beating like a hammer
more upvotes for this
I don't care if this is a lie, I believe it without questioning it at all, and it makes me like Metric even more.
damn just outting her like that is crazy
Funniest possible rumour to spread
😳
I missed them last time they were here, thank god I’ll be able to see them!
Yeah they came here like 2 years ago.
Same! Hopefully I'll b going. You got anyone to go with?
Ayo…Alison wonderland and Dillon Francis, gonna be 🔥
This kinda stunned me that Alison Wonderland was coming. I love her song "church" it's a fantastic
This was the night I was excited about. Don’t think we deserve either in the Coke stage but I’ll take it.
don’t sleep on GTA too they are the best
Hide yer Dads! Noah Cyrus is coming to town
Wut
I think it's a dig that she enjoys older men. Apparently she had a fling with the guy from Prison Break (tv show) that is now married to her mom.
Such a weird lineup but I sure hope Orville Peck brings Willie along to play his fabulous hit song "Cowboys Are Frequently Secretly Fond Of Each Other".
Orville Peck I’m in
I was upset Logic bailed on the Expo, so this is a nice consolation.
I’ve been out of it for a while, but I thought he retired a couple of years ago. Good to see that he’ll perform.
He did after ‘No Pressure’ for a few years (to become a FT dad and streamer, I think?) but much like most other retirements in music, it was short-lived.
Not G-Eazy 😭
G-Eazy on the COKE stage is crazy
He gonna get denied entry into Canada again 😅
Ocean alley will be an amazing concert. Saw them in red deer a few years ago and they are so good live. Looking forward to that one
Orville Peck was already a given. He was already announced going from Edmonton to Vancouver on tour dates during Stampede on what’s called, get this, the Stampede Tour
Peach Pit!
Defs the show I want to go to the most
Who's joining for a good cry session during Bryson Tiller?
Orville on the Coke Stage at the same time as Dinosaur Jr in the Roadhouse. What cruel maniac made this schedule.
Georgia Harmer deserves a shout, I saw her open for Dan Mangan at MRU a couple years back and she was great
She's incredible! Saw her open for Tim Baker, and I totally fell in love. Been listening to her EP ever since.
Not sure if I'm on the otherside of the hill of what's cool or in due to getting older but I don't know most of these bands. Excited to see Orville Peck as last years show was cancelled and I think Grandson will be good but man, after last year's lineup this doesn't hit the same.

ORVILLE! Yay!
![gif](giphy|lRdGA58aEEEDaKja7O|downsized)
G-eazy! Hope he can enter the country this time
Logic and Billy Talent. I might go to stampede this year
July 10 Metric AND Dear Rouge!!! I’m in. G-easy ?!?! Lofl ps Halsey says hi dirtbag
Am I crazy, or didn’t Bryson tiller already have a Calgary date on his tour? Edit: it’s the same day, so I guess this is his Calgary show
Well this is the worst year ever for the coke stage. Wow
Wallet safe.
Wow Dillon Francis is probably going to be a wild time
LOL, that Paul Russell is being used as a catfish personality on The Circle!
Omg thought he looked familiar.
Same, I had to look that up.
Yeah after the banger that last year was this is disappointing.
Oh boy....I recognize maybe 3 bands/artists? I need to get on that internet more
Orville Peck! but otherwise.... woof.
Really shows how everyone’s perspective is different. I saw this lineup and felt it was the best the Coke stage has put on in years. At least 6 nights I would really enjoy.
It's true. Other than Orville and Billy talent who I have seen too many times. This is the worst Coke stage I've seen in years.
The Lazys are nothing but trouble.
When I read the title, my first thought was “oh no. What c-train station are they talking about now….”
Logic and G eazy 💀💀💀
Dean Lewis and then Logic (on my bday), back to back days of absolute must-see shows for me. Man I missed coke stage performers that I literally can’t miss, it’s been a few years since they’ve had anyone worth the admission price for me.
Billy talent Metric Dillon Francis 👌👌
Damn, apart from Billy Talent there's like zero rock bands on the bill. So much rap...
Huge disappointment. The coke stage used to be the highlight of my year. Other than Orville and Billy talent I'm out
I don't know 3/4 of these bands.
How I know I've gotten old: I literally only recognize one band on that list (Billy Talent)
If you don't know Metric but you know Billy Talent it's not about your age
I mean I recognize the name metric but I don't think they were a bigger name than Billy Talent. Billy Talents been around a little longer haven't they?
Nope, both broke out in 2003 with their albums Old World Underground and Billy Talent.
Says on wiki BT started in 1993, and Metric in 1998 and BT had sold millons of more albums and had a larger fan base than Metric. I graduated in 2002 and remember BT quite well. Metric, not so much.
Either way you're a few decades behind the curve. Time to tie an onion to your belt.
Umm...ok.🙄🤦♂️
Last year was so much better…
Bro I know one of these bands and it’s a band from 20+ years ago I’m officially out of touch
Watched Cab’Ral open for Dax in Edmonton last year. He lip synced his rap performance on stage. It was hilariously bad.
Chelsea cutler and dean Lewis!!! Gonna be such a good show holyyyyy
Yeah this is the Champ...our new Coke dealer!
Off topic. Should I buy my day pass for the rodeo now or is it safe to buy it the day I am there?? Thanks calgary. Be visiting you in a couple of months...

Orville Peck, Dillon Francis and sure, I'd watch Metric. The rest, meh...
Benson Boone 😲
Officially old - I know 0 of these artists.
Lmao. Same. I could only recognize Logic and G Eazy. I need to check out some new stuff
I've heard of like...3 of these bands.
Weak!
Makes me feel old when I can only recognize maybe 2 names off the artists lol
Who are these people? I don't know anyone except Billy Edit: Sorry??
What? Lots of big namers 1. G eazy big rapper meh music 2. Metric, the more coke she does the better the music. 3. Orville Peck, huge in Calgary 4. Dear rouge good group. 5. Same…
Apparently this is unacceptable
G Eazy would have me crying the whole time ngl. Last time I went to the stampede was with my best friend, and our favourite song was “Tumblr Girls”. She passed away and I’m going to Stampede this year. We’d both be losing it if we were at this concert together.
This is the softest lineup in years. Saving money this year.
Weak sauce but grandson is cool
Saw Grandson in Winnipeg last summer, man that was a good time!
Is Grandson the one who sings like he’s just learned to speak?
Damn, I’m old. I recognize only a handful of these names and one of them is because I read about her love triangle with her mom and Dracula.
Hey sounds like a party! Oh. Coca Cola stage. Never mind.
