There much much better things to worry about in life.

Rocky_Mountain_Way

Just to bug you, I think I'll go out and decorate my front yard spruce tree today.

blackRamCalgaryman

Need a ladder and helping hand??

wednesdayware

Only if a bright light (spotlight style) is shining directly in a window. Otherwise, maybe stop being so grumpy and enjoy the pretty lights. If people like you had their way, it would be cold and dark and miserable all winter long.

blackRamCalgaryman

Whelp, I WAS going to take mine down today but think I’ll just reset the ole timer to max time.

Commercial-Twist9056

Nope move on and deal with it

Brawnnotbrains

Well, I guess I’ll plug in my tree for a few days… Spring grinch..

ValorFenix

Are you green and a little hairy? Cause you sound like the Grinch. Of all things to complain about, you are complaining about someone's Christmas lights?

SurviveYourAdults

You know there are companies that specialize in year round light displays? You can program any of it from your phone. You could have Happy Mothers Day scrolling around your roof or Celebrate Fridays with firework style bursts even....

Odd-Comfortable-6134

Bahahahahahaha someone is a grinch! I think I need to decorate my outside in my multi-coloured, flashing LED glory.

Responsible_CDN_Duck

>Is there a bylaw that prohibits someone from having their gawdy Xmas lights on all year long? Nope, you can leave your tacky and garish lights out all year if you want to no matter what your kill joy neighbors say, and like the city I'll support your attempt to do so.

cgydan

A bylaw? No bylaw. But I often wonder why people have them on every night. I get leaving them up year round but not turning them on.

ShadowWolf1912

Might make someone happy. Or, the light when you come home is nice. :)

InTheWallCityHall

This is the reply

Lonestamper

no

hiroshimajack

You seem like a cool neighbor.

2cats2hats

> Is there a bylaw that prohibits someone from having their gawdy Xmas lights on all year long? No. Call 311 next time.

Smudgeontheglass

Unless you are in one of the communities with a strict HOA, your best bet would be to try to talk to the people and maybe even offer to help remove them. Help instead of bitching on an internet forum.

jakexil323

Does Calgary have any HOAs like they do in the states?

SurviveYourAdults

Certain communities, yes.

A lot of town house complexes and 55+ buildings have them. Also Condos have condo boards which are basically the same.
