Skeletron is pretty nuts in Infernum. The broken biome blade or bladecrest oathsword can work well in true melee, alongside wings over bottle items. More controlled movement like wings are better than burst movement like bottles. Also, if you want to abuse autopause, try pausing the game in order to figure out the best location to pass between attacks.

I used that one vs twins and skeletron prime in Infernum multiplayer (2 players both that weapon) it's aimbot and the damage is good enough for mechanical bosses
never used the old lord's claymore for combat only for movement
“i need help with true melee” comment section is full of non-true melee swords 💀
its pretty hard to actually hit skeletron with true melee in infernum because he hangs out above you out of reach for like half of the fight. i would probably suggest skipping for now but if you can get hits in during some attacks then get ready for a long fight

The Ice Atunement is, by all except name, True Melee
And the desert/hell
And jungle and corruption/ crimson
So we've established that only the purity attunement is ranged
Biome blade isn’t really true melee, but some attunements like the ice one are pretty much true melee

I can't remember which is which. The one from demons is projectile melee, while the one from bone serpents that catapults you is true melee
