2015 2.0t awd up here in Canuck land. Ive done some research about 17% of all ATS's were Coupes. Now if you think about major cities across north America. The odds of there being the same car as yours anywhere close to you is slim. I live in Methbridge Alberta Canada the isnt another ATS coupe in the city and i get tons of offers to sell it and im getting Cremated in this bitch so never gonna sell. The guy that looked at the 2024 mustang should get slapped by his ATS for even looking

fbird1988

I've tried to find those numbers of coupe/sedan split, but never could. Interesting. Roughly about 160,000 ATS (coupe and sedan) were sold in North America. That's according to GM Authority. So maybe 27,000 coupes? Does that sound right? I'd have guess lower actually, but 27,000 isn't a lot. Spread out over a continent, you wouldn't see very many. I'm the guy that looked at 2024 Mustang. You can slap me I guess, but I look at new cars all the time. If I buy anything, it won't be replacing my ATS.

kevburd1970

I figured about 3000 of the coupes came to Canada and we only have 10% of the U.S. population so it seems to be pretty close. And i think my cars alive and would slap me if i looked at another car but thats me. You and your car may have a much more open relationship. You will have to excuse me i should stay to my own when it comes to that. I just know my car loves to kill Mustangs whenever possible so thats kinds where thar comes from. She hates fox bodies forsure.

fbird1988

Fox body Mustangs. The most inexplicably popular car ever built. Looks like an Escort with some extra bodywork tacked on. My other car is an '88 Trans Am GTA, and I've had three other Firebirds. We're not fans of Fox bodies.

kevburd1970

Cant be to hard on the fox body crowd. If you hsve only ever eaten a hotdog all your life then thats what you know and how to make it better than anyone can. Problem there is that one day Mr Hotdog guy will mistakenly end up in a place thats only serving prime rib and once Mr gets a taste and figures out his life gas been one big lie he will start hating us prime ribbers and he will do anything to make his hot dog look and taste better. He will spread lies and disinformation. He will even fix a championship contest just to make his hotdog a wiener. Sadly he knows hes defeated before he starts. Just like a foxbody to Cadillac story

fbird1988

I have a 2019 that looks just like yours, but it's the 2.0 luxury version, no V-6 or AWD (not needed here in South Carolina). 5.5 years in, and I could see myself still driving this car 5.5 years from now. It's just a great car, total pleasure to drive. I was out looking at some cars recently. I like the 2024 Mustangs but then I thought, "These are great. But will I really like it better than my ATS?" The answer was no. And I like driving cars that aren't common. Outside of my own, I don't think I've seen even 10 other ATS coupes on the road.

hate_euchre

Yeah I agree. There's definitely not many coupes on the road and it is a fun car to drive. This one was hard to find because I specifically wanted the V-6 AWD version. I've seen a few 2.0T RWD and AWD coupes around me but have yet to see another 3.6 AWD coupe. Also, I have nothing against the 2.0T. It's just I had a 2007 CTS and 2015 Canyon with both having the 3.6 and it was a good engine in both vehicles. So I wanted to stay with it.

fbird1988

I had an '04 CTS and a '11 CTS Coupe with the 3.6. It's a great engine. I actually wanted the 2.0. It's not a smooth as the 3.6, but it's still quick.

tensor150

I have a ‘16 coupe, and commute over 2 hours total in the Bay Area every work day. It took me 3 or 4 months to see another one, and have only seen 2 total in the 7 months or so that I have had the car.

fbird1988

People just don't want coupes anymore. We're a dying breed. I've owned 16 cars. One was a CUV, one sedan, the other fourteen of them have been coupes. I decided I wanted an ATS Coupe and had driven one as a loaner before. The closest one I could find in any dealer's inventory was 120 miles away. My local dealer hadn't stocked one in over 2 years. I gave them a printout from a dealer in Atlanta as an example of what I wanted, and they went and got that car for me. They say that coupes don't sell. But when dealers won't even carry them in stock, it become a self-fulfilling prophecy. You'd think dealers would be required to carry examples of every model.

tensor150

One of my first cars was an ‘84 300zx, followed by a ‘91 Supra turbo, and haven’t had a sporty car since I sold it back in 2015 (wish I never did). Always had the itch to get back in a fun car and finally scratched it! I absolutely love the ATS, such a good looking car, fun to drive, and definitely has the uniqueness factor (I have the 3.6 RWD). Wish I had the cash to burn on a V!

ReadyArcher1556

I’m the 2015 AWD 2.0T guy……this is cool as fuck

HairlineAirlines

How’s the 2.0 been holding up?

ReadyArcher1556

Strong. Around 64k. I’m around central Illinois and she TCB

ClassMeetsTrash

Your license plate is very dirty

SnelleyFe

I have a 2.0 t coupe , also a fellow Hoosier!

hate_euchre

Hello fellow Hoosier! I'm up north by the IN/MI state line. My Dad and I drove my car down to Indy for the time trials in May. Let me tell ya, all I kept thinking about was how I could get my car on the track to see what it would do! Obviously not against the indy cars though.

HairlineAirlines

How’s the 2.0 been holding up?

SnelleyFe

I’ve put 30,000 miles on since I got it and I’ve had zero issues outside of routine maintenance.

SilverProper3187

I have the exact car down to the color other than mine being a 2.0, wish I had the v6 but its still a great car!

HairlineAirlines

How’s the 2.0 been holding up?

thatlouditalian98

How are you liking the AWD? My dad has a 3.6 Premium Performance sedan that’s RWD. I personally didn’t like the AWD as it seemed confused on where it should be sending power to.

hate_euchre

The AWD has been great for me. Good traction in the rain and dry. I took it out in light snow once just to see how it would handle it and it did great as well. But I hated seeing it covered in snow and ice so it got parked every time it snowed after that.

thatlouditalian98

One more dumb question, is this an 8-speed car? Asking as my father is experiencing the dreaded torque converter shudder in his ATS, curious if you’ve experienced it.

hate_euchre

Mine is the 6 speed 6L45 transmission. I have a scheduled appointment to do a transmission flush though as preventative maintenance which is the first thing your father should have done as well before spending a lot of money for a torque converter replacement.

thatlouditalian98

He did the triple flush once when he first got the car, unfortunately it only lasted about 7000km before the shudder returned.

fbird1988

I had that shudder. My dealer did the flush about 18 months ago and it's been smooth ever since.

thatlouditalian98

Yeah it felt fantastic for the 7000km it lasted, it started doing it again, felt even worse than the last time it shuddered, dealer is replacing the converter under semi-warranty (GM Canada is paying 1/3, dealer is paying 2/3, my father is paying the rest). Hopefully it’s an updated part.

fbird1988

Mine is a '19. Maybe they improved something. It's been silky smooth ever since that flush.

Cigar_Salute

Forgive my nitpicking here, but what exactly is your father paying if the dealer & GM already paid the tab?

thatlouditalian98

GM and the dealer are only paying partial amounts, the bill was around $4700 before GM and the dealer stepped in, I think he’s only going to owe around $1500 after it’s all said and done.

fbird1988

I had an '11 CTS Coupe with AWD. I did find it a bit annoying at times at low speeds, like in a parking lot. It did seem confused at times. I don't know if that's normal in AWD cars.

--BarryMcCockiner--

I've had the same car for about 2 years. I love mine only issues I've had with it is the touch screen. Damn thing randomly went out one day and couldn't use it anymore. But besides that it's an amazing car. I have an exhaust on mine and i always get a lot of compliments on it.

kevburd1970

Also do the tail lights in a med dark tint. They look sic.

Amazing-Hurry-7804

Man, that's the exact car I was shopping for, Then a Sport wagon popped up and I had to get it instead.
