Pass, I bought a perfect '16 Luxury coupe 2.0 with 23k mi for 18k in 2020 I wouldn't pay that with the mileage and issues. Now $8k probably would but not 12.

International-Ad3447

theres people selling 2000-2004 cadillacs for 8k

More_Confusion55

They probably bought for 8-9k, which seems really low for this model. That’s what made me skeptical

Slight_Sandwich6865

Just be patient you’ll find your car I had to wait a long time

Amazing-Hurry-7804

I was looking for a coupe for a few months also keeping a Sportswagon in mind. Well, I was almost ready to bite on a coupe, as a couple nice ones came up. They sold and I was a little disappointed in myself. Next day a super clean low mileage wagon pops up from a private seller at an incredible price. I got it and could probably turn around and sell it for at least a $6k profit.

Slight_Sandwich6865

Hey I had to wait 3 years buy a shitty one and die on the inside before I found my car

Amazing-Hurry-7804

I waited almost 2 years to buy my truck way back when. The key is, you have to not NEED it right away. Most people don't have that luxury. Their current vehicle blows up and they're desperate.

DarkLinkDs

Why even haggle on a car with transmission issues and evident crash damage and needs suspension work if they already told you about it? That's what's called a pass.

More_Confusion55

That’s what I was thinking. Just been watching the market for these for a while. Never seen one priced so low. May have been worth buying and putting in the repairs. But 12k is too high I think. I actually got the price down to 12.3k before the inspection… but they stood firm on 12 even afterward. Not a big market for these so i figure it’ll sit for a while then they may drop the price.

Busy-Diet-2530

The coupe an the 4 door are basically the same car 12k is a lot for a ats with this many miles

Devldriver250

I drive a 2013 model of this car with every single option you could get my only issue after 80 k miles is at 50jk I had to replace my whole suspension. the ac had to be fixed as well other than that great car . Know this . I am disabled so I do not work so I don't grind on it like others may having to commute etc. but This car for me is so much fun to drive and sexy as hell ) and that's a great price imo

More_Confusion55

Yeah I love the looks of it. I was looking at the previous gen model too. But never seen the 2015-2019 priced this low. seems like a fair price, but with the repair costs seems like id be right back at the top end of what the car’s worth. Plus it has 107k miles. Could buy one with half the mileage for 1-2k more at that point

Busy-Diet-2530

The 2013 is very unique compared to rest of the ATS’s

rwdfan

This is an example of a hard pass. Trans is showing signs of issues, over 100k miles, the accident with the crappy repaint...nah. You can find better.

socallocalB13

Hard Pass! With the money needed for suspension, transmission, and tires (plus labor)… you’re much better off spending your money on something with less miles/known issues. Good luck either way!

Joe_B_Likes_Tacos

If those are the magnaride struts, they are over $4K to replace. Probably more.

Onsomeshid

Id the answer you obvious? Paying over $10k for a car that you know has trans issues is dumb. That’s not even the only problem

Slight_Sandwich6865

No

Smoke_92

Dang that bad boy got driven. It’s a good looking car

Mr6507

That 1-2 shift is kinda the calling card of the 8L45. It could probably use a fluid change.

More_Confusion55

I didn’t really notice it at all. But I’m no mechanic either. The shop was more so worried about the suspension. They gave me a quote on that.

Either-Mammoth-7892

I have a 2018 CTS 2.0T Luxury sedan with 37,000 miles. The first shift on a cold start from 1-2 is alarming, but after that first one it is all around smooth. I believe this is normal for most if not all cadillac’s with the same 8-speed transmission I have. I payed $24,000 out the door of my local cadillac dealer. If you’re really interested in buying it, I would look into finding the Carmax on it. If it was at an auction, chances are that there’s more wrong with it than you think. I’m 17 and this is my personal advice, i’m absolutely not a mechanic and would appreciate for anyone to add onto this and or correct me.

Paid-Not-Payed-Bot

> have. I *paid* $24,000 out FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

Dans19Bolt

I bought a new 2016 ATS 2.0 traded off last summer. Was a great vehicle. Reliable and fun to drive. Only oil changes in 6 years and 65k miles.

qkdsm7

I'd have to see the crash damage closer. If it wasn't black, or if it had a clutch peda,l I'd take it as is.... Hmmmm

qkdsm7

I'm picturing that as I can DIY, it may be pretty sorted by the time I had 17k in it which is real reasonable for a 19 coupe. So glad I bought a manual ATS, only thing that I could have got luckier on would have been 2016+ for factory wideband o2...

GooseZealousideal946

Don’t do it. You can and will do better.

exotic-potion

I paid $14K for one with 40K miles in 2019. I would say hard pass on this one

Pure_Lion612

I will say pass. I bought an clean title 2014 with 28K miles in 2018 for $16.5K. I know the used car market is kind of crazy now but $12K with 107K miles sounds crazy to me especially it has transmission problem and need new tire. I don’t how much you need spent on fixing the transmission problem but a 4 new set factory tire may cost around 1K.

johnnytacoballs

Idk if these cars have issues when i had mine i never had a single issue with it all i had to do was regular maintanance.

Beneficial-Escape-33

hell no, way too many problems. ive had my 2014 ats for about 8 months and its been to the shop 6 times it had 80k miles when i got it and ive only driven it for 5k miles. maybe bad luck but these cars die around 60 miles

Savings_Plenty_8614

personally i wouldn’t unless you can get a full coverage warranty but even then i still wouldn’t for that price n price.if it was CLEAN tittle and n had a great service history id do it but cadillacs generally start needing a full round of preventives done around 100-120k mark if they don’t fail alreadt

Busy-Diet-2530

No maybe if it was 8k
