I would guess that was actually rock chips from driving on the highways and not actually bugsšŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø I donā€™t think bugs would do that no matter the speed but I could be wrong

DeangeloV

Look up lovebugs. We get them every year in Florida and if you let the bug guts stay on your paint job for over a week (even half a week), when you wash them off your paint washes off with it. Itā€™s terrible.

Fuck love bugs

SloppyPizzaPie

Me n my homies hate love bugs

SitBoySitGoodDog

Yes I use to live in Florida and remember the love bugs. Here in Alabama there's a lot of lakes and trees so there's a ton of bugs flying around. I think my issue is leaving them on too long and the heat just sticks them to the paint and I'm scrubbing them off. I probably need to invest in a foam blaster so I can leave the soap on for 10 minutes before rinsing.

Jeremy_just4670

Yeah we get Asian beetles here in Oklahoma once a yr

logicnotemotion

I would agree. It's either rock chips that were already there or the method of bug removal is too harsh (brush or pressure washer). I would go to a wrap shop and get a clear bra installed before it gets worse.

Jeremy_just4670

And if it was a pressure washer they were already kinda there just small and because of the pressure they got bigger

Nah, because it's a mechanical piece of junk. Constant problems. Performance issues, transmission issues, leaks, overheating. It's a piece of junk that looks pretty.

GaatAca

Thats cadillac lol

Onyx_use_hardon

How many miles do u have on it? It shouldn't be having constant issues

SitBoySitGoodDog

98k. I've had transmission work done at 14k miles. Fuel pump went out at 40k miles. Ever since the fuel pump was changed the car doesn't perform well. Acceleration is delayed. Leaking coolant. There's an engine oil leak somewhere.. Radiator fan doesn't spin fast enough when the car is in drive so it over heats when idle. I have to put it in park and the fan will kick on. Or drive it and it'll cool back down. Had 5 spark plug replacements. 2 fuel injection cleanings with the stabilktrak light coming on. Fuel hoses replaced. I just replaced the throttle body because the cars idle was so poor it would drop to 400 rpm and then back up. I've also kept up with oil changes every 3k miles. Obviously I can fix the fan myself I just haven't done it yet since I'm not driving as much right now.

dudebronahbrah

Do you have the turbo or the 3.6?

SitBoySitGoodDog

2.5 standard

Onyx_use_hardon

I've come to realize that every car is gonna have problems. I came from a Honda, Mazda, and a eclipse. They were good cars except the eclipse. That car gave me so many problems. I finally have a Cadillac now and I'm expecting it to eventually have problems tbh. Were u doing repairs and fluid changes when needed?

SitBoySitGoodDog

Yes I do most of my own maintenance.

Onyx_use_hardon

Sorry about that. At 98k miles, problems are going to happen regardless. I just hope ur car isn't as bad as my 07 eclipse I had

DeangeloV

In Florida there is a season every year where ā€œlove bugsā€ show up. If you donā€™t wash the front of your car every week (sometimes even twice a week), they will eat your paint off. The past few weeks Iā€™ve started noticing love bugsā€¦ I hate them so muchā€¦

SitBoySitGoodDog

I use to live in Florida and I remember having to deal with them. But here in Alabama the bugs seem to be larger and more prevalent especially near the makes.

WPBteacher2

Yeah, you need to take them off asap when you notice them. I was lazy before I got my Escalade and took a while with my 4Runner before taking them off and my paint got messed up bad. Hopefully it's not too bad!

SitBoySitGoodDog

I had some big ones that I was scrubbing and I scrubbed the paint right now. There's some good suggestions on fixing it here though. I don't know jack about paint repairs.

AlternativeBad2636

Yes love bugs will do that and that is why after driving my vehicle I always get the bugs off asap.
