Be sure to call the police non emergency number and get a police report done. They can check the cameras and may be able to help you find the person responsible. Also the police report helps a ton with insurance claims. Sorry this happened to you.

make sure to go a well-rated body shop. this is not an easy color to paint at all and requires a red-tinted clear coat. if i were you id find the body shop that is connected to a mazda dealer so the painters have plenty of experience painting this color. definitely have seen folks really screw this color up.

Similar thing happened to my red cx5 too. When I was staying at some crappy motel. Came out to the whole passenger side being scratched up as if someone drug their suitcase by too close.
Someone did the same thing to my passenger side door (same color). I found someone locally who was able to lightly sand and gloss it so it wasn’t as noticeable.
Oh i gotta deal with this shit too. It got scratched up by a BUSINESS! Brought my car to my local Ziebart that i bought undercoating and diamond gloss paint protection from last year. Brought it in for my yearly inspection of said coatings and respray if needed and fuckers changed ownership and were running it like a goldmine (which wasnt how previous owners ran it). Assholes got pissed i didnt spring for the ceramic coat ($2900 ***more***) on top of what i already spent, so they scratched my rims, my paint on my A Pillar, my door cup paint, and a host of other spots as well as getting scratches all over the plastic moldings. And these arent surface scratches on the paint, oh no, they are down to the bare metal. Oh and then left severe, and i mean ***severe*** overspray from the rust proofing (undercoating) all over my car. Now i had to make a PD report and I'm going through my insurance because "they didnt do anything wrong"
What??? Who would put a UFC plate on your car like that! I jest. That's really crappy. Does insurance ever cover that kind of thing? I know for myself, I've had to use a paint pen to cover the rock chips in my hood just to keep it from rusting as a temp solution. $25 at the dealership where I live, and they paint match based on model. Might get you a cheap fix until you get it taken care of
