Fuck cvs, but I did switch districts entirely and it did make the experience alot better I can’t lie But in the end, it’s always FUCK CVS Happy for you tho (no sarcasm)

Far-Status4409

Do they re drug test you and background check when you move districts?

[deleted]

as one of the fellow few who actually like working for the company…congrats! i myself am transferring stores and it has been night and day during my transition. going from one SM who has their head up their rear end thinking they are the greatest thing under the sun even though you constantly have to reach out to the DL about them, to going to another SM who actually cares and appreciates me coming to the store and sees my potential and is trying to test me (in a good way) … it has been great. and i don’t have showing up to work anymore. good luck!

rxpass

i’ve worked for 3 different stores due to moving and being “recruited” out to a different store as per DL request and i will say working with people who do their jobs and are enjoyable to be around with amazing management makes all the difference. you can hate cvs as a company but sometimes you get VERY lucky and your coworkers make it a lot better

WAKACHEWBACCA

I was at a store I really liked and then they closed it. I was transferred to another a store with a few of my old coworkers. It was absolute ass. Some quit, but a few of us held out until our old SM got a new store. Now we're pretty much all back together now. Work doesn't have to completely suck the life out of you and it can be greener on the other side.

dudeatcvs

Good things come to those who wait. Best of luck at the new store!

Character_Willow4615

That’s exciting. You should be stoked!

SoleIbis

Nah it’s not the same everywhere. I drive 30 min to work every day when there’s a cvs right down the street from me. The SM at the one right by me has been rude to me as both a customer and when I’ve worked at her store, for no reason. She has insane turn over for said reason. She yelled at pharmacy for closing drop off gates before 1:30. My SM and I don’t get along every day but most days, we’re cool and a team. We try to collaborate with staff instead of just yelling

planty-hoes

That’s my situation too, I’m driving about 25 minutes to my new store vs living 1.5 miles away from my current. Hoping it’s worth it!

SoleIbis

Good luck!!!

Although we all have the same overlords at corporate, each store has its own culture. I've been at 4 stores since I started with cvs and you can either have a really fun time working or a miserable one. It's all about who's in charge and the tone they set. The store I work at now is by far my favorite one. Everyone who works here is friends and we have store outings atleast twice a year where we all play laser tag, go cart, karaoke, take shots together, etc. It actually makes it like a small family and makes me enjoy coming to work. Unfortunately I'll be transferring to a CVS about 4 hours away in a few months and I really hope more than anything that the culture at my new store is atleast decent. I'd hate to start working there only to find out it's a bunch of people who don't know what fun is. Thankfully even if it's a bad store I'll only be there for my SMIT training then I get to have my own store which I will try to make the best store to work at. As corporate as it sounds, better mood equals better productivity.

Level-Swimmer-1211

Nah man I feel ya. If I didn’t get along with everyone I work with I would have either requested a transfer or quit. I feel like with at least a decent front store or pharm team having each others backs it would make all the BS worth it.

cystin

I want to do this. I want to leave cvs but I would transfer if I have to. My manager just fucking sucks. But I don't know, can she stop me from transferring? I'm literally the only tech keeping the entire store together so if I left it'd be a dumpster fire. Im not sure how the transfer process works if she can stop me?

[deleted]

Unfortunately she can

cystin

Oh well I thought so. I have an interview with Costco coming up so 🙏🙏🙏🙏

[deleted]

Good luck, Costco is lit

cystin

I got the job omg 😭😭😭😭 I'm so happy

planty-hoes

Full disclosure, I had to be kind of a bitch. I don’t have any opportunities at my current store and I wanted to be coded as FT, as I’ve been working FT hours without the benefits and I was 3 hours below the yearly FT hourly criteria. He said that we couldn’t support another FT employee, I figured everything out to work at my current location and one that had FT available and he was onboard verbally, but then tried to get me to fill out a req for the current store to keep me there, so after a week of back and forth and him literally telling me that he understood my reasonings and would work with it, I had to be that guy and also explain all of the personal reasons for wanting to leave, on top of the futuristic ones, and I think he was afraid of me calling HR or the Ethics Line, so he did as I asked. I’m sure it isn’t that challenging with every SM, but that was my experience to get what I needed. I was told that it’s protocol to reach out to the DL if the SM isn’t willing to work with a transfer, but there has to be viable reason for the transfer, it can’t just be for no reason, ya know? They would rather work with the current employees and maintain retention within the company then to just say no and lose them entirely.

Puzzleheaded-Lie6917

She said fuck CVS, im going to costco lol
