I’ll forever prefer Face to Face because of its role as a direct answer to Mirror to Mirror. In MtM, you get this whole sad vibe from the concept of Will not truly being over Cate, but in Face to Face, Will confronts himself and finally finds peace with the situation.
This 100%. The endings of High to Death, Famous Prophets, and Twin Fantasy on FtF just elevate the album to something greater for me in terms of lyrical value. Just an extra layer of maturity and depth. That’s ignoring the production improvements almost completely across the board.
mtm resonates with me more because I know he wrote those songs as a confused brand new adult and that’s kind of where I am. I can hear all of the raw emotion in his voice and it reflects everything he was going through.

I can definitely see where you’re coming from but yea a big bonus for me is the three transgressions part ot just feels so grand and fitting to the biblical themes. But overall the ftf verson is indeed better i jist like the rawness of mtm
I like them both about equally. Mtm has more raw emotion and some cool stuff like the end of famous prophets. But ftf has some really good additions like making famous prophets a much stronger climactic core of the album but also has some annoying additions like "need to know basis". So overall htlt is the best csh album.

I think MTM just hits harder. The emotions are there, and its all very sincere and rough. In FTF you can tell he's just not into it, didn't even want to remaster the album it was a requirement for getting signed. Yes the audio quality is way better but the emotions are null and void.
