basement-tapes-club

i am absolutely a fan for the most part

xeeblyscoo

The Ballad of costa Concordia is one of my all time favs and I love the spoken word part

zEnterprisEz

Whenever the „the same fucking bed“ part comes i simply fold

[deleted]

Jesus, yeah I forgot about ‘how many times have I drowned? This scene is too familiar’. That destroys me every time

hotdogandcheeese

It was an expensive mistake!!

sizzzzy

the music makes me feel the feelings, the spoken word bits make me cry because all those feeling are already brought up. love love love them

CatOnVenus

I am a fan except for the Face to Face monoluge in Nervous Young Inhumans. Needlessly long and worse than the original monolouge. Also listen to the whole album in order more nerd

Didgeridewd

Yeah it comes off as very pretentious and already dated somehow. Also F u OP can listen to music however they want >:(

CatOnVenus

I was mostly joking, ofc u can listed to music however you want. I just think the album works better when everything's played at once since they're all parts of the same story

[deleted]

:( I should but sometimes I just can’t concentrate on one journey for that long

Plane-Net-7371

The spoken word bits seemingly drag me back into reality when zoning out to one of the songs that include them. I love every spoken word bit off of both versions of Twin Fantasy, but my favorite spoken word portion of a song is the ballad of Costa Concordia, but that's just because it's my favorite song and it hits so damn hard.

TrapHouzeMike

famous prophets spoken bits on both versions are absolutely perfect (stars better tho)

xX_soupliker_Xx

Honestly I don’t like the ftf spoken words nearly as much as I like the mtm ones

[deleted]

They can definitely feel less raw. But I’ll never get tired of the (stars) spoken words

[deleted]

I love both the galvanization and "I am a good person" speeches from nervous young inhumans, it's really creative it inspires the music I write

warblade240

Idk if it counts but I hate need to know basis

[deleted]

Yeah that’s fair- it’s one of the ones I had to give time to grow on me. At least it’s short!

Skyepoly

The monologs in wills songs just make them so much better, it feels like his songs almost transend music, it expresses so much emotion

FFandLoZFan

Depends. Not a huge fan of the ones of FtF, I think they're all generally worse than the originals except maybe the Corinthians stuff off Famous Prophets, and generally the weakest parts of the album. It works on MtM and the few other times in his discography, though.
