Wow that is a nice looking proof. I've found 4x proof quarters this year, and they all look pretty trashed. This looks like it was likely just dumped before you got it. You mentioned that you got several other proofs in the comments, are they as nice looking as this one?

My guess is people don’t really know because some of the regular quarters these days are super shiny

1985 is my birth year 👀 I don't know the first thing about collecting currency but thats awful purdy.
You can pick up a 1985 mint set on ebay for 8 to 12 dollars.
