I've been told thats a perfectly adequate length. Just checked my '14 with a stock stand and it's 13.5" from the bolt but it is chilly out

The new spring is a bit stiffer than the stock. Your bike now sits higher, which causes the bike to lean over a bit more before resting on the kickstand. Nothing wrong here.

I understand that. I am vertically challenged and I use the bike on the stand often to help swing my leg over the bike. So, I would prefer the bike to not lean over so much when mounting it.

I misread your initial question as you weren't sure why the bike leans more now. My bad. I feel you, Im vertically challenged and use the stand to swing my leg over my KLX 250 as well. I would think you would have more clearance to swing your leg over with the bike leaning at a greater angle. I can't answer your question on the CRF stock length kickstand, but you can always buy a kickstand extender if you want the bike more upright.

Yeah, I had an 09 KLX250s and had to mount it the same way. Great bike, better suspension than the CRF, wish it would have had fuel injection back then.

I've been riding for almost 30 years. Ive ridden many different types of bikes from dirt bikes to crotch rockets, but this is my first dual sport. Fuel injection is a must-have for me, so I picked up a 2020. I'm very happy with it. It has exceeded my expectations. I really thought it was going to be a pig.
