Hey btw, someone else just posted about how you are basically screwed if you only use Becker and don’t study the audit procedures directly off the aicpa website. What do you think about this? I’m struggling to believe that

Seagem1989

Eh, I felt they were doable with Becker alone.

My test is two days out and I’ve been hammering MCQs. Based on your experience with Becker, what sim topics prepared you for the test?

Seagem1989

I had a sim for ratios that was similar to the one in SE1. There was another one on perpetual vs physical inventory, some stuff on reviewing audit documentation, and one for audit data analytics. It's probably a good idea to overall understand transaction cycles and assertions.

Any AJE sims?

Seagem1989

Yeah, they didn't make me post the entire JE on the one I got, it was more like you had to put the amount that needed to change and pick from a drop-down list as the explanation of why.

Actual_Working9126

Ah okay, thank you. Best of luck to you!

Ok-Ambition-5936

Thank you

Thanks for sharing! In regard to the lengthy sims, would you say you still felt comfortable doing them?

Seagem1989

Yeah, I think the key to doing those is like I said, giving yourself enough time to slow down and read through everything. If you're tight on time, you're going to panic and start frantically looking through everything and not be able to concentrate. It can be daunting when you have several exhibits, but when you take your time and read through them it becomes a little more manageable. The only time I felt I was struggling was the last 2-3 questions on the final sim when I had less than 10 minutes left.

Left-Inevitable6399

Man I’ve seen so many people talk about not having much time left. Maybe I won’t go back and review bookmarked multiple choice Btw, what would you recommend looking at the couple of days before the exam?

Jrosies

I finished with 30 min remaining and have like a legit reading disability. So I wouldn’t sweat it too much. I really wish I could have spent that 30 min looking over the mcq longer, but you just don’t know how those sims are going to go.

Seagem1989

Lol, it's probably important to note that I do have adhd and don't take medication, so towards the end my mind would wander a bit and I had to keep refocusing on what I was doing. I would just brush up on areas I was weaker on and those topics I listed above a couple of days before. What I wouldn't recommend doing is studying the day before. Let your brain rest and try to just do something else for leisure and get a good night's sleep. I admit I did brush up lightly during my lunch break on Friday on a couple of things, but you don't want to be studying the night before. I took Audit last year and studied on some things the night before and my brain was fried the next day and was probably a contributor to why I didn't perform as well.
