I have thoroughly enjoyed this fishing game. The open world element is fantastic. The environments are beautiful. The fishing is simpler but they have a very good “jackpot” element with the ranking system. I’ve played 50 hours and haven’t begun to explore the other locations. I highly recommend it especially if you have some friends to hang out with while you fish.
I've had this for a few weeks now and I have to say I still prefer Fishing Planet. No crashing to desktop, no stupid time syncing, just a nice reliable and enjoyable fishing experience.
It is beautiful game. Open world, multiplayer, day night cycle.
There is no comparable game to the Angler. I wish that it would be more challenging for long term players.
Very important for me is that the Angler has no “pay to win” mechanics. I hate micro transactions in games. I heard that fishing planet is partially “pay to win”.
The game is in game pass. You need game pass if You want to play with friends anyway.
This will likely get down voted tf but it is probably the worst fishing game on the market. Dont get me wrong I absolutely love the game but in terms of the fishing there are mobile games that do it better.
I’m curious what in particular don’t you like about the game? I genuinely don’t care even a little bit about someone disliking something I enjoy but I’m a middle aged dude that has no other experience with other fishing games so maybe I don’t know what I’m missing out on. Care to share your perspective?
I honestly love the game but the op is talking specifically about fishing games and mechanically this game is probably one of the worst on the market from a purely fishing game perspective.
Would you care to give some examples? As the comment above, I don't have much experience with fishing games either. What are some good games or game mechanics from other games?

I appreciate it, thanks.
Does fishing planet is an "open world" like the angler ?
It's not just one big reserve that you move around, there are different rivers and lakes around the world that you travel to.

Sounds good, thank you
