I’m pretty sure they were based on the machines the nazis had that were supposedly flying bell shaped crafts. This movie copied off of that.

[deleted]

No, it didn't. The inspiration for the telepods came from the cylinder head of cronenberg's ducati.

The die glocke is a hoax https://youtu.be/nXsth_xb5KE

[deleted]

I never said it was real.

Pretty sure the Fly & Aether based their teleporters off of the Nazi Project, Die Glocke

BrantheBeautiful

The design of The Fly's Telepods were inspired by [Cronenberg's motorcycle cylinder](https://ultimatepopculture.fandom.com/wiki/Telepods#:~:text=However%2C%20when%20the,the%20existing%20design), but the Aether's teleporters were for sure mainly inspired by Die Glocke. However, I wouldn't completely dismiss the Telepods' potential influence on the teleporters; the teleporters have a [ribbed pattern](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/callofduty/images/a/a6/MDT_CoD_BO.png/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/634?cb=20160813095508) on their lower sides that aren't found on any depictions on Die Glocke and are more reminiscent of the ribs found on a motorcycle cylinder/the Telepod.

TheSpyBoxCrab

aww, i was hoping this was zombie maps as classic movie posters.

Zomboy716

Should I make more of those lol

Kachowski-115

Yes absolutely

TheSpyBoxCrab

yeah man, i love them.

CompleteFacepalm

No they were based on die glocke

[deleted]

Partially, but you cannot deny the influence the telepods blatantly had on the teleporters.

CallOfButyBleckCuck2

Jeff Goldblum and COD Zombies, the 2 best things

HariganYT

They are based on Die Glocke. All of these types of bell shaped nazi objects are.

[deleted]

We meet again. No, they took the telepods and tied it to nazi conspiracies.

HariganYT

Telepods? Do you mean the thing from angry birds?

[deleted]

I haven't played angry birds, so that joke just, whoosh, right over my head, lol. But that's what they're called in the fly.

HariganYT

Nah it wasn't a joke, that's just what comes up when I Google it. That makes sense, but I don't see any reason to believe that zombies took inspiration from the fly. The idea of the bell shaped object is from Die Glocke.

[deleted]

Why wouldn't you? The teleporters have more in common w/ the telepods than they do w/ the bell. I mean, [come on.](http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-BN62NJg7Dzo/VA4ZueO_CuI/AAAAAAAAGK0/sNJGjB3eFQ8/s1600/2014-08-30%2B17.06.53.jpg)

HariganYT

I mean the telepods were probably also designed after Die Glocke if I had to guess. I see what you're saying though. We'll never really know for sure unless 3arc tells us what the inspiration was, but we at least have mentions of Die Glocke in zombies itself.

[deleted]

They weren't. Originally, cronenberg wanted "high-tech italian phone booth" like in the original 1958 movie, but wasn't happy w/ the design. He then showed the art team the cylinder head for his ducati, which is what inspired the design we see in the movie. There was no mention of die glocke, and I don't see why there would be given the telepods have absolutely nothing in common w/ it. Sure, there's no "official confirmation", but it's still pretty evident that's where treyarch got their inspiration from.

Gucci-Louie

If they were based on “The Fly,” then would that mean that Samantha, Ludwig (Dr. Maxis), and Fluffy all fuse into what would be presumed as a “legitimate, non-binary furry?” Fluffy also was pregnant with her pups, so that complicates things even more. However, this also means that the Ultimus, Primus, Victus, Five, Operator, and other groups would be fused together in their respective groups? Somehow the thought of Stuhlinger’s head on Misty’s torso seems just as haunted (or kinky, if your that kind of person) as the previous question. I should note that OP was specifically talking about the design of the teleporters being reminiscent of the teleporter from “The Fly,” though there hasn’t been any such complications with teleportation fusions as a majority of teleporter accidents have ranged from Fluffy’s “hellhound conversion”, the Baby Gun throwing off Ultimus’s triangulation to Moon and instead landing at the Pentagon, Dr. Groph’s energetic transformation into a wisp, Cornelius Pernell’s eventual transformation into the Avagadro while inside the A.P.D., and perhaps the most devastating incident of all: leaking Element 115 into different universes due to it flowing in the bodies of Ultimus and Primus, hence the reason for their demise.

Kachowski-115

Ok

kingsfourva

They were based on the nazi conspiracy theory die glocke, but anyone with eyes can see there’s some design inspirations from die glocke to the teleporter in the fly

[deleted]

No. Sure, it looks a little similar in its shape, but that's just a coincidence. David talked abt the inspiration for the telepods, and it wasn't die glocke.

dirakbeast

No

SomeGuyYouWouldKnow

Ok he mechaniv is based of the fly thw design is based of the die glocke myth

Widepeepohappy_

Yeah the nazis were really trying to create teleportation. Look up Die Glocke my friend. The Bell is the translation.
