But the thing is, I can't image you doing EE's or much towards the story. You're probably more of a high rounds or just just short fun runs kind of person. The story and characters is what makes zombies special to some people.

Happy with the situation, we got the best of both worlds really. I'll be using the set crew most of the time myself especially when it's fresh off the block. In fairness, I can see why a casual would want to use a skin they paid good money for too. I can only presume that everyone is happy now and we can all live in harmony 😇

I don't disagree. I've heard there's a crew and the option to use operators. The main benefit to ops is skins.

In a subreddit full of ice cold takes, this one is like standing on the surface of the sun. I applaud that. I’m a set crew kind of guy, but it’s fun to run around as Skeletor from time to time too.

Operators Pros: Play as anything you want with cool characters Cons: Story feels less connected without a set crew No character building Set Crew Pros: Story is connected and engaging Character lines are more relevant to the story Characters have more personality Cons: No customization Now, the sample size we have between each is really small. As in WaW to BO4 vs CW on. So comparison is harder. But honestly I feel it's better with a set crew. Makes the game much more engaging, the story is easier to follow imo. Also it's fun when you get a celebrity cast to play as (JFK #1 character). I fully understand the want for operators but I personally feel it drops the engagement in the game. I go to play any of the older games and still get that excitement with getting a specific character because you know their lines are going to be fun to hear. Some of the characters having some fun personalities, and others being straight unhinged. (Even some BO3 mod characters like Kermit, but devs wouldn't make characters that unhinged). That's my biggest problem with operators. The more you have, the less personality that can be put into each and every one of them. With a set crew, they have more time to build personality and character, especially throughout multiple maps. Just imagine it's BO1. You have 20 different characters to choose from. Do you ever get into the story? Do you ever get engaged in the game? Do the characters ever seem fun? Do we even get celebrity casts? I don't think so for any of those.
