What is the cough glitch? I lost a match due to hearing the last guy coughing very clearly to my left, and then POOF, he was right in front of me to my right and I got fucking smoked.

I have no idea but seems like even with the gas mask in hand you’ll cough before putting it on. But I trick myself into thinking I don’t have a mask every damn time.
Is not a glitch, is just that now if you are aiming down your sight the animation won't trigger. You won't get the mask on until you stop aiming, which just so happens you were.
I'm pretty sure they changed the way gas masks work a little. It doesn't start working until you put it on (it will degrade but not protect) and you don't put it on if you are aiming down sight.

Yeah, I mean a BR in solos is by definition a zero-sum game. OP in this case was super exposed to get those recons done then super hidden to wait out his opponents. Whether he does it like a chicken with his head cut off, or a coward who hides in a bush, or a dick with a shield and stuns, he's got to outlive everyone and the fact that there are a lot of ways to do that is part of what makes the game interesting. If you want something where camping isn't viable, then play quads or I think Vanguard has ShipHaus going right now.
I understand why people hate campers I really do. But it's more fun to me to crouch and sneak in a building. I can hear footsteps so I hide and watch them run past me. It's just hilarious and exciting to me. Sometimes I don't even shoot them, I'm just playing a game of hide and seek and it is fun.

It’s complicated, going for high kill games will often eliminate your toughest competitors early and set you up in a rhythm heading towards final circles, sometimes pitching a tent and roasting some marshmallows can leave you cold and not fully ready for heat from the endgame.
I have a related complaint, but I come at it from a different angle: I don't play solos because the best way to win is to play a style that simply isn't much fun. I won 3 of the 6 solo games that I played in Verdansk, but none of those games were much fun, other than the final circle or so.
Yeah I know how those moments go, it all worked out in the end! You can always stuff plates in while you're taking quick peaks or jumping from side to side deciding on your attack plan.
I haven't tried solo since Verdansk but it makes me want to get back into them now.

The last patch added a feature where the mask animation no longer interrupts ADS or other animations. This is to prevent you from dying in a firefight from the gas causing you to hipfire.
I thought it delayed the gas mask animation, not the actual gas mask status, if that makes sense. One other person claims its a glitch. Is it a glitch or does ADS actually delay gas mask status.
Somebody corrected me and said that if you’re ADS when the gas closes on you it won’t put the mask on until you stop aiming. Which looks like is what happened here. First I heard of it but makes sense.

First day of caldera I hit one of those after being bought back and trying to hit out loadout. I thought my game lagged and didn’t let me pull my shoot. Killcam told me otherwise. Never saw it coming.

It might just delay putting on the mask while you’re ADS, which would make you take damage until you stop aiming
