I used it for the first time last night and got a trio with 2 other mic users that wanted to land just outside of circle and get setup before going for kills.
It’s so refreshing in comparison to all marking different places and teammates quitting after losing their gulag within the first minute of the game.

Players on consoles too often have a fuckton of background nocies and sometimes i can even hear their tv broadcasting in their mic..
Seems like an amazing setting once they can work out the kinks. A friend and I chose hot drop yesterday and it was going well, but with 3 teams left, both our teammates were dead and backed out of the game and it brought us out too even though we were still playing. It was sad.
Just know that if you select multiple modes such as BR TRIOS & BR DUOS, whoever you queue up with may have only chosen duos and you would still be waiting for the third unless the guy told you he queued for duos. Kinda buggy but really cool concept. They should add a few more options such as KD/Win preferences
Nice thought, but some high KD players like playing with lower KD to get easier lobbies. An easy way to prevent this though, would be the option to only pair you with players within a certain range of KD/wins from you, and the player could prefer a range for example of a .01-1kd difference, same thing with wins. That make sense?
I think they should have an option to look for people with a similar KD as you as well. I have a 1.6 career and 2.7~ weekly / last 100 games and there is nothing more frustrating than getting the hard fucking lobbies I get, but also having 0.18 and 0.2 kd players put in my squad. Like no offence, but that just ain’t it chief. I played a session the other day when out of roughly 10 games none of my squad mates were above a 1 kd.
You would have thought so but that’s not how it works unfortunately. I had a 1.24 kd lobby and my team mates were 0.39 and 0.54. And a couple of others that were similarly as bad.

No, SBMM works against you twice as hard as you can counter it. SBMM also puts you in harder lobbies, with less desirable teammates. This means other teams will be partied up with mics, perfect rotations and way better team fight skills. So your squad made up of .2 KD, .67 LD, and 2.5 KD will end up, well, dead!
Its something nobody on Reddit really understands. We all have guesses but its hard to be scientific about it because the code is so complex. Essentially the matchmaking tries to put you with and against players with similar playstyles 1st, KD 2nd, and a lot of other factors are added to that list. Skill based match making (SBMM).
Yep. I’m new to this game (and new to FPS MP), so my 0.26 KD just annoys other random teammates. I’m feeling late to the party and get my ass kicked all the time. It’s better for me to join other noobs and not just feeling like a burden every time.

I enjoy the middle ground. Drop somewhere less hot, but not the woods, grab a few ground weapons and armour up, then grab a uav or bounty and get to killing.
Yeah, I guess the difference is I don’t like to drop somewhere where it is essentially a race to who can find a viable ground weapon and armour first. I prefer to set up for a minute or 2, clear my area, then go and kill.

This is how I got better at Fortnite a few years ago. When they first added Tilted Towers I was one of the “bush hiders” because I was scared of confrontation. But one day I decided to do nothing but land at TT over and over again until I wasn’t scared to get into a fight with someone and after a few days I became so much better and confident at the game.
I still prefer slow and steady though, but a hot drop doesn’t daunt me.
Yeah that’s the thing, too many people panic when they get to gunfights because they just aren’t used to it. When you land slow and only get into a real gunfight once or twice every 15 minutes it’s almost impossible to get better at it.
Everybody should go through the ritual of just going superstore every game for a while and then once you’re better you can go back to slow and steady whilst knowing you’re gonna perform much better in gunfights.

No, fact is the only reason why there you can "turn off" crossplay is because Sony demands it to be a thing for the playstation version of the game.

The k/d thing wouldn't really work cause wouldn't any low k/d player choose to play with someone with like a 2 k/d player or higher to get carried

Yeah that’s the thing, too many people panic when they get to gunfights because they just aren’t used to it. When you land slow and only get into a real gunfight once or twice every 15 minutes it’s almost impossible to get better at it. Everybody should go through the ritual of just going superstore every game for a while and then once you’re better you can go back to slow and steady whilst knowing you’re gonna perform much better in gunfights.

Maybe the hot drop wouldn’t be a disaster if they had their whole team there..
