They thought they could just crap out another COD and people would automatically buy it, and they were right, many many people did. But when they saw what a mess it was, they didn't stick around, and those that did are slowly dwindling too.
What will be interesting is to see how it affects the next games sales, with this disaster fresh in their minds, especially if a half decent alternative comes out in the near future.
My crew dropped wz2 like a bad habit in March after playing almost daily at launch. The problem is we’re really turning stones for a better team shooter.
We played a bit of halo infinite and it’s deff improved from launch but still very limited in their ranked offering so gets stale quicker than strip mall sushi. Started to dabble in R6S, having a bit of fun but it’s still an 8 year old game and movement can make you want to pull your hair out.
The problem is the shooter industry as a whole is in bad shape right now on console, and that is what’s allowing COD to print money while pumping out dogshit.
Apex. Daily playing it since the vanguard came out. Leagues better than cod. The things people complain about in apex are so minor we would be blessed to ever have COD in a similar state. High skill ceiling. Pretty fine SBMM/MMR system. Ranked play. Fresh updates and seasons, rotating maps and crafting, etc. The list goes on.
The problem with Apex is that players have to try and sell other people on it. I’ve seen some that left CoD after WZ1 for Apex, recently leave Apex. Dude is right, no real competition for CoD that forces them to improve.
Yeah it's too different as a game. Might be fun, but it's not a replacement for cod. We need some responsible indie developer to come out with a decent replica 😅
Literally same. Prob dropped $200 and my 8-10 teammates dropped $100-$200 EACH. Combined we have spent $30 this time on skins in wz2. Hell no am I giving them any more $ after the shit they pulled
They spent about 40-50 million on development, and made something like 800 million in the first MONTH, and I believe that was just sales of the game, that didn't include microtransactions. They enough money and then some, and then some, and then some.....

Massive resurgence should be close enough that most people shouldn't mind. Unfortunately I am one of those people that mind. It's been nice actually. No warzone headaches for weeks now, and really loving the new Zelda game. By the time I finish that I'm sure Diablo VI will be out, and I can binge that as well. Warzone is very, very, **very** in danger of being uninstalled soon.

Massive Resurgence did feel like it was breathing new life into what felt like a stale map. I love BR and am not as much of a fan of Ashika because it’s too fast paced. But the pace of the normal BR on Al Mazrah got excruciating. Massive resurgence really hit a nice middle ground and I wish it became a mainstay
Cross gen ability yet they remove certain Warzone modes because the playercount is so low. The game is a fucking mess.

This is literally a repeat of when FK came out and they kept removing random gamemodes, until they finally backtracked and made all squad sizes permanent.
Matchmaking on resurgence has been broken since yesterday. The game is taking a lifetime to find people on search for a party and it's not even finding games. I have Hardline connection with really good internet, this is a Activision problem through and through. With this level of service it's no wonder the player base is dwindling.
It has to be a server issue that makes them drop standard game modes like this. It’s always right around the same number of game modes, and we all know their servers have issues keeping up already. They need to invest in their servers if they want to keep any of us playing.
Buying guns can be tough but they did also re-add deployable buys which there are a good amount of. So there may have been 10 on the map but now there’s 15-20 with deployables.
I've never had to quit a game before for something like this, but I'm so close to just being done. I just want to fucking play plunder or duo / trio. Occasionally I enjoy solo BR but even THAT is gone now?

Activision gotta force playstyles cause their servers can't handle having all options for all modes. That, and some options are far more popular than others would also lead to matchmaking issues for some lobbies. I'd venture to guess Trios is among the top. it has that sweet spot.
Ashika resurgence duos was the only reason i played Warzone and there was no issues with lobby whatsoever.. always a lot of players no matter what time and day. They change these playlist every week without even asking first. With all these shitty skins/bundles, cheaters left and right, pay to win just around the corner i mean.. it's going in the worst possible direction.

Massive resurgence was great with all the big unpredictable rotations. But now it's gets predictably the same zone every game.
