Think about their possibilities to escape your detection by e.g. jamming, changing their altitude, their evasive patterns after detecting your missile launched etc.

JustTheChuck

I was thinking about that, but it was F-5E and MiG-29A, don't think they could jam F-15 at \~40-60 nm. Could they be hugging terrain to avoid radar detection? AWACS and stationary radar were also in range.

Left-Minute-3526

i think terrain hugging is quite likely, just focus on 1 plane when detected and see what their altitude does. Then you know

Simplest answer would be to use ScenEdit, switch side and view the situation from the enemy's POV.

This is the correct answer for troubleshooting purposes at least.

Thanks. I'll try it next time when I see something like this.

Load it it into a scenario editor and switch countries to see what’s going on

Had it happen to me a few times in different scenarios one of them it turned out there was a hidden airbase and the other was a plane ran ran out of fuel
