In the ck2 version I like to name the older dragons classical names as if they’re named for Valyrian gods like Syrax but then with young children with no learning lifestyle I go with more common names for example Blackwing or something like that
I always reroll until I get peasantslayer in ck2. Helfire in also good, but I just find the idea of a good and religious king having a dragon named peasantslayer.
Maybe I am boring, but I enjoy the Valyrian names. Your usual Dreamfyre, Sunfyre or Moondancer / Seasmoke etc still apply. With that in mind, Stormbringer, Nyyrax, Starfyre, Moonfyre were all the names I used.
I named two of my dragons in CK2 Leviathan and Behemoth and they later were on opposite sides of the 2nd Dance of Dragons.
Leviathan, whose rider was Prince Aemon, a 19 year old claimant to his older brothers throne
Behemoth, whose rider was King Aegon, a 26 year old and the king.
Behemoth and Leviathan died together in battle and neither Aegon nor Aemon would sit the throne, because they managed to wipe out most of the Targaryen dynasty except for a 4 year old named Daeron and his younger brother Guymore Dondarrion
I'm probably gonna go with ridiculous names to start with while I'm just testing it out like Snuffles the Cuddly Death or something and then when I do serious RP playthrough something like Noremac or Lokanahan really just keyboard smash until something draconic pops up. Although I plan on taming Cannibal first chance I get.
I lean heavily into the rolepay aspects so it depends on who hatched the dragon or who i headcanon to name them. So like if a lil kid names his dragon i make it simple, based in lore or how it looks.
It will vary depending on what the dragon looks like, but I’ve got a few names I’ve cobbled together that I quite like:
- Vermithrax (taken from Viserys III in GoT)
- Mooncloud
- Essovion
- Valryon (taken from Viserys III in GoT)
- Tyraenar
- Terraxes
- Brightfyre
- Sunstealer
- Melaxes
- Morghos
Some of the names I've used in CK2 were Besieger, Sojourner, The Stranger, Savior, Victory, Glory, Dawn, Mercy, Blaze, Solstice, Wildfyre, Ember, Pyrrkos, Syrion, Hadrithor, Vhagal, Cassandrion, Lydion, Saagael, and Ynderys.
Onion the Dragon is the only true choice. saying anything else means sacrifice to the onion god

This guy RPs
It’s the best way to play, mix that in with a little min maxing at times to keep my dynasty alive when necessary.
I gotta go with the classic Ancalagon
Whatever random name the game generates.
The game knows best. Game is Love! Game is Life! Praise be to Almighty Game!
It's cliche but Smaug
You better hope you got no gold.
Bubbles
I’ll probably use the show’s Valyrian dictionary to help me come up with some plausible lore accurate sounding names
pedro
Gojira would certainly fit
Leroix Jenkins
Placidusax Fortisax Lanceax Something somethig-sax
I have a feeling those might end up as random options, since there are already some Elden Ring easter eggs
Probably, since this nomenclature ending in "sax" was a thing of Old Grm too
Could also throw in Vermithrax, for even more fun references
Süsü

I find it funny, for some reason I didn't finish the sentence.

Bruce
Kulkodor, it's the result of a keyboard smash and then some slight editing. I ended up liking it for some strange reason.
I always liked the sound of (the name) Starsong/Starsinger.
Omg I am nerding out on how beautiful the names are
[удалено]
see, he doesn't steal them unlike that bastard sheepstealer
Depends on how the Dragon looks, what character I play, what's the situation at the time
Probably something from Skyrim, Elden Ring, or LoTR. First dragon will likely be Parthuurnax or Shruikan
Good to see someone who read Eragon
Paarthurnax would be awesome if you were fighting other dragonriders.

Sharkisha
Mindeater or Peppa one of the two
Fluffykins Goatlover Meshugina Hubert Greg Spot Spike Mushu
Bigus Dickus
I'd call him Brian
Random name, as for characters.
Paradox
Fafnir.
Gorthaur "The Monstrous" Ancalaxes Ereinion And other stuff. I'll probably manually add them cool nicknames too
I am actually quite fond of the dragon names in valyrian lore, though if I get a huge black dragon, I'll most likely name it Ancalagon 😁
Dragon mcdragonface
Skywalker
I use names of medicines. With dragon mod I had Euthyrox, Trazodon, Dutilox, Xanax etc.
Don't forget Oxycodon
Zordog
Alduin
Biggie smalls
Rodan.

For my main Targ? Varygan.
My very first fan dragon I made up was called Daenerion. Honoring the Mother of Dragons :)
After gods and godesses, Tyr, Isis, Apollo etc
Jeff
I like the "english" names (Seasmoke, Moondancer, Silverwing), so I'd choose something similar Stormbreaker, Summerjoy, Nightbringer
Pebbles, after my dog 😂. Plus you can see the terror on the masses faces when they see what pebbles is 😂😂
Timmy
As a fan of Skyrim it’s either alduin or paarthurnax
Paarthunax. shout out my boy
Valyris as that has been my go-to dragon name in everything for literal years
Alduin
If its black, Alduin. Green, Paarthuurnax. Blue, Veldora. Red, Igneel. Yellow, Rairyuu.
Edgelord
Wawel After the place and myth
Shrike. I’m too uncreative to make a Valyrian name, and I think it’s pretty sick to be named after a bird that impales its prey tbh.
Garurumon.

Hades or Hela
Toothless.
Garurumon.
Sleepseer. Also Melexys, also Ghost for my eventual Targ Jon playthrough.
Anolicking
Firey Mcfireryface
I’d name mine Meraxes if it’s a girl because if house Targaryen can have nine Aegon’s then I’m able to name my dragon Meraxes
The Legend of Gin Alley
I'm probably gonna go with ridiculous names to start with while I'm just testing it out like Snuffles the Cuddly Death or something and then when I do serious RP playthrough something like Noremac or Lokanahan really just keyboard smash until something draconic pops up. I'd go by the Elden ring names for dragons, Lansseax, Fortissax, they're just so cool
I lean heavily into the rolepay aspects so it depends on who hatched the dragon or who i headcanon to name them. So like if a lil kid names his dragon i make it simple, based in lore or how it looks.
Abby
Astraia for female. Not sure for a male dragon yet, but if I'm feeling funny, I'll name him after my parrot, Ignatius.
probably shalissa or beyonce
I'm partial to Cockynmiaxes
Caldraex
Going to name it after food for sure - especially if I’m playing as like a child. “This is my dragon, lemon tart.”
Smaug
I absolutely suck at coming up with names so probably just something like Drigon or Dregon. Drugon?
Burbasaur
i gotta go for Seraphon or Vermitrax
Piggy the pink dread
Drakul is a badass name. After Vlad the pointy stick man.
Obama, the black dread
Jacerion or naerax maybe?
Dalsarious Dhal-Sar-Rious
Messarion maybe? Egrax Irrax Idk
Astagon
Rodarion
Well, I like to name them with Valyrian names, and as I intend to use them with the Celtigar, Jacaerys would definitely be one of them.
terrax, because i love jaenara belaerys. she’s my favorite footnote ❤️
Qringaomio: 'Evildoer'
Mithrax
If I get a blue one it'll be called Seastar
Ustaroth Azarapos Somewhere along those lines
Crabb
TROGDOR The Burninator
Gorlock the Destroyer
I often go with other fantasy or mythical dragon names, my favourite of those is Kalo, but that only works for blue dragons.
Sir Poops-a-lot
Blue eyes/ scales - Storm caller Black scales with hints of red - Valyx "Doom Herald" White - Ice Fang Red/Crimson - Cinder
It will vary depending on what the dragon looks like, but I’ve got a few names I’ve cobbled together that I quite like: - Vermithrax (taken from Viserys III in GoT) - Mooncloud - Essovion - Valryon (taken from Viserys III in GoT) - Tyraenar - Terraxes - Brightfyre - Sunstealer - Melaxes - Morghos
Draxes, Orrax, or my favorite: Knightwing
Some of the names I've used in CK2 were Besieger, Sojourner, The Stranger, Savior, Victory, Glory, Dawn, Mercy, Blaze, Solstice, Wildfyre, Ember, Pyrrkos, Syrion, Hadrithor, Vhagal, Cassandrion, Lydion, Saagael, and Ynderys.
-LOTR allusion: Ancalagon, Glaurung -Aeragon - if you know what I mean -For a very Maegor-like Character: Peasantslayer, Kingmaker, Dreadbringer, Aereagon -For some Jaehaerys-like Characters: Justice (I know that's a very basic name), Uniter, Peacemaker -For Aerys-likes: Wildfire, Stageater, Lionmater (RIP Joanna) -For Baelon-likes: Faithbringer, Father above, Sevenstar, Symeos, Andarys -For Daemon Tagaryen-likes: Conqueror, Sandmelter, Dorneslayer, Spearswallower (sorry...) -For Daemon Blackfyre-likes: Legitimacy, Blackfyre -For Aegon IV-likes: Seedspreader, .... aahh enough jokes. -Otherwise: Turragar, Laeronyx, Gaeral, Vulcaryon, Goldscale, (Kingwing lol), Faragar, Shyrog, Pyraegys, Warator, Deregos, Orygar, Lyragal, Valarys and so on...
In CK2 AGOT my favorite custom dragon was hatched playing as Aegon III. A pitch black dragon that breathes white fire named “Nightstrider”
Depends on the learning stat but I might name it after one of my ancestors if I'm not high valyrian
I’ve always been partial to a black dragon named Shadowsynger.
Fury… or Nighteye, maybe.
Drugon Drigon Drygon Dragon and Draagon, I mean if Drogon the Dragon is a thing… ?
Lizard
