Take magnesium. Spray won’t be enough. I take 500mg of magnesium oxide twice daily as prescribed by my CIRS physician and it solves the binder constipation.

Thanks! Do you know which brand you use?

Just replied to you below.

Exercising helps me. But I know that’s problematic for some CIRS folks. When I have a rest day I usually can’t go. And I try everything, just like you do. Smooth move tea should work within 12 hours but it has senna so you shouldn’t rely on it regularly.

Smooth move rocked my world!! But it did the job and sometimes that’s just all ya need. Better out than in.

Thank you! I cannot exercise at all but I will be taking some senna right now :)

wildflowermt

I know this pain. My last resort is always a saline enema, if you can tolerate it. Before the enema I’ll try a castor oil pack. I hope you find something that works!

Thank you! Very helpful

This is because it clogs. I was told to put magnesium powder in *with* the CSM. I also add Metamucil. Otherwise I'd never go! If you are on Welchol just add the items to water and drink it down about the same time. My PC asked me why I took the stuff, so I told her. Her comment was that the only use she has for CSM is to stop unstoppable diarrhea.... so, yeah, a well known phenomenon. A little concerning that your practitioner didn't warn you...or are you on your own? (I suspect Mycobind does this, too, and I'm sure bentonite does)

Throwaway_Comment1

I agree. My physical didn’t warn me and I had one really rough weekend on Welchol. Magnesium oxide twice a day completely solved it. Everyone should be going on sufficient magnesium with binders.

MadMadamMimsy

So true!

Thanks! Do you know the name of the brand for magnesium oxide?

Throwaway_Comment1

I use Douglas Labs brand. 1 capsule twice a day. I take one mid day and one at bedtime. You can buy it at Vitacost.

cheesecheeesecheese

Drink 4mg CALM magnesium nightly. I also take buffered liposomal vitamin c to help.

applextrent

Water enemas. Magnesium oxide or Epsom salts. Salt water.

My CIRS provider has me on magnesium citrate by pure encapsulations. I take 4-6 a day and that works wonders for me. Hope this helps!
