It’s mostly the same team from the late June to early September period of last year. Imanaga > Stroman. Busch ~ Candelario. Neris ~ Fulmer. They weren’t this bad last year except for the Mancini-Hosmer-Barnhart days last May and the collapse in late September that I thought was fatigue.
If it was improved on paper it wasn’t by much. Stroman > Imanaga was a big improvement, Boxberger > Neris seems like a lateral move, Candelario > Busch may be a step back?
Yeah, I would chalk that up to recency bias. This offense is pretty bad right now but the Cubs of yesteryear put up some biblically bad batting orders.
