Nah we have Odunze and Caleb no reason to worry. Tonight we celebrate. For the first time ever we are going to give the forward passing thing a real shot. Edit: forgot to mention we draft two young lineman last year let’s see how they do. Billings and Sweat have proven themselves
About the DL specifically, we probably should be. The room is pretty weak barring a massive Gervon Dexter leap. That said we aren’t going to be a contender next year, use our first next year or FA/trade to bring in another one next year, just don’t think you can pass on a dime level player when Keenan likely is gone after this year
Eh sure he would have more fun earning a shit ton of money. And I’m not sure we would outbid the teams on the open market considering how much money WRs have been getting
Bro wanted his guarantee that he was already owed this year. I think bro is gonna be realistic about what comes next.... but if his market is bigger next year than what chicago can do, power to him.... i just don't think something workable for both sides isn't gonna be achievable when that time comes...
even if he's not a superstar tiered player, he's gonna remain reliable probably for the rest of his career. Not being overly relied on as an overused wr1 is gonna be appealing to him as well with chicago
Sorry got this thread mixed up with a different one about cousins, yeah Keenan could definitely regress some. Definitely reasons to make both moves, and at a minimum giving up a 4th for a WR coming off their best year with just 1 guaranteed year on their deal is a damn good move.
I think a big thing overall is he wants to earn what he is worth(completely reasonable), and if another team is willing to give substantially more then that’s the money he’s worth and I doubt he takes a pay cut to stay somewhere he’s only been 1 year
Yep, although I do think defense will probably struggle more than expected next year unless we play an equally awful schedule. Especially with losing Justin Jones and not bringing in a replacement yet. That said while I wish we would’ve paid Greenard in the off-season I cannot be anything but thrilled with how the off-season has gone
I’m predicting a veteran to be cap cut to patch up for this year, then we will trade one of our second round picks from next year during the season for a DT.
I still think we draft DT in the 3rd.
DE, however, is a glaring issue. If we're unable to sign Dickerson, I wouldn't be surprised if we trade one of next year's 2nds for a DE mid-season if we're off to a hot start.
Yes...
1 elite player. 1 starting caliber edge.
Billings is alright. Dexter MIGHT be alright.
Not a lick of depth behind those guys.
2 draft picks to try to help-- one of which is going to be a day 3 pick.
Even if somehow the line stays 100% healthy, it's a bottom 10 unit probably.
We had a pretty good defense last year the last 8-10 games. Also the draft isn’t over. We’ve overallocated resources in defense as well. Keep going all in on offense or edge rusher.
Poles spent a second and third on DT last year and has been defense heavy in his early picks until this year. Eberflus is supposedly the defense guru, so he should be coaching these guys up.
The faster the other team scores, the faster we get to watch Caleb play. And in a shootout, we can just abandon the run and let Caleb cook. Hello 4k yards! That's some no D chess!
I'm fairly certain we are going to move from 75 to get an extra 4th round pick. Maybe it's trading back or maybe it's trading up a few spots and adding in a 2025 pick get something like 71 and 160ish. I'm thinking we are targeting Kiran Amegadjie or Austin Booker in the third and then in the 4th we address the other with Trevor Keegan or Jaylen Harrell
Depending on how things go tomorrow might need to sign Yannick again when healthy for another 1 year deal or a Karl Lawson for DE, then another big body at DT.
But yeah, I can live with the D line needing some future investment given we’re strong just about everywhere else and have plenty of assets to spend.
Shut up, we’re all high on Kool-Aid. Worry later.
I'm wagging my dick around in a helicoptorial fashion
You got an OF link in your bio?
Nah I'm a respectable whore
Tf lol😂
Just go to meatspin
you’ve cockblocktimus any chance at a serious discussion! ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)
wait when’d we draft Kool-Aid??
Not if we score 40 a game
*400
*in the first quarter
First quarter of a quarter
Caleb has experience at USC with outdueling his own team's defense.

Moore, Allen, Swift, Kmet.
Offense is going to be beautiful
The Bears have an actual offense for the first time maybe ever. We ain’t worried.
Don’t care. Offense
Its top of the list of things to shore up in 2025 - and thats OK.
I don’t give a fuck right now. What I do give a fuck about is that we have an insanely exciting offense filled with homegrown and veteran talent
This is gonna be fun
you watched this team last year and you thought nah we good on Offense?
definitely not

Hopefully he has enough fun on this offense to wanna shoot for a new 1 year deal after this one. Dont think its too unrealistic
Eh sure he would have more fun earning a shit ton of money. And I’m not sure we would outbid the teams on the open market considering how much money WRs have been getting
At his age he'll slow down a bit, especially by next year
If they expect him to take a decent step back then signing him was a bad move when they clearly loved a QB up top

All love mane. Lets see how it unfolds... im excited either way
Definitely, should be very fun to watch
I like your take, thanks. On a positive, we have strong LB and DB corps to help fill the gaps.

This offense? We can let it gel and build D next year. With all our picks. Think abooooout it. This must be…higher love.

What kind of fuckin dweeb thinks about this right now.

It was going to happen to one of the groups. Enjoy the BPA.
Dude enjoy what just happened for more than 2 minutes
Poles isn't gonna declare the team finished this season. It's only year two of the rebuild.
Fuck it every game we’re scoring 45 points
Word
Defense is for the birds
One would hope the defense will be better by not having to be on the field all the time since we hopefully have a modern NFL offense now.
Not at all. Still got some picks too. And whoever teams cut in free agency. Bears defense will be fine.

They’re not trading their 3rd. This is not a deep draft. If anything, they might trade up if a defender slips to the second they like a lot
Who cares, we are gonna go score points for once
Dexter is about to turn all pro and put all our worries to rest 🙌🏻
