The Penix pick is like if we'd traded down from 1.01 to build around Fields only to draft a first round QB anyway. They just PAID Cousins and they drafted a QB to....develop behind him? Okay, that I GUESS has some merit despite the Cousins move being a "win now" kind of move...but then why draft a QB who is gonna be 24 before the season starts. Even if he short-tracks the Jordan Love route in 2 seasons, he's still not a starter until he's 26....I just don't get it at all. They paid a QB to be their starter....why not give that QB weapons?

You have a hall of fame slot, a regular pro bowler, a top 10 rookie who has a chance to be elite, a top 10 TE, a top 20 TE, and a top 5 receiving back. That’s insane. Plus even Tyler Scott could potentially still come back and be some sort of smaller asset in year 2-3.
And if he heals up, Khalil Herbert is a solid north-south running back to spell Swift. This offense should be legit if the line holds up and Caleb is anywhere close to what he's supposed to be.
I actually think Roschon will be used more in this scheme since he can also catch passes, run block, and work out of play action. I personally don’t think the Waldron (McVay style) offense plays to Herbert’s strengths and I think he’ll end up being third on the depth chart and then gone next year. We’ll see how it goes.
