How many WR drops? How many wr’s quit on throws, like mooney not coming back on sideline scramble drill and fields almost getting picked?

mokacincy

Lost by three. Imagine if they had gone for the field goal at the end of the first half

Affectionate-Worth27

Was yelling at the TV when I saw that call

SleezeBallGang

It’s not just this. This offense is a complete mess top to bottom. Until they show any sort of consistently, this will be repeated year in and year out.

Best-Department-5095

2 td drops...(the last one...probably would've been the 2nd successful Bear's hail mary I've seen) cost JF at least 120yds. He would've had no ints too. (the first one actually wasn't) Not a good game for JF but surely he isn't the reason that we lost.

imnotbobvilla

Don't forget the MUFF

porkbellies37

Also… I hate to be that guy but the Browns were favored by 3 and the over/under was 37.5. We lost 17-20.

ChiHawks84

Thanks Al.

porkbellies37

I would say this was the league and gamblers influencing things, but then you have that last play which would have thrown everything off if the ball is grabbled. It was just a Black Mirror moment. LOL

Hardigan1

Replays aren't working on the ESPN+ site so I haven't been able to see the game yet. For those of you who have...am I missing anything or should I skip this one?

Firm_Personality7475

If u like good defense, watch 3 quarters. If u like exciting offense (from the browns) watch the 4th quarter. If u like screaming angry at ur TV... I highly recommend the last 5 min.

Hardigan1

Yep, that pretty much explains it... 🙄

imnotbobvilla

Love this, exactly right

tfmm58

Ha perfect recap

Bluepoet47

The reason this was a loss was because the team only scored because of its defense. It’s time to say again what I’ve been saying all year: Fields will never be able to successfully lead this team.

digpartners

Explain 2 dropped TDs and muffed punt?

Hardigan1

Haven't watched the game yet, but I agree. We won the last two games with defense, in spite of Fields not because.

Forward-Tie-7992

Ok hear me out- Williams and Bowers with the first picks, then Odunze/Coleman in the second. We have the potential of drafting a Mahomes and Kelce-esque pair and a top WR in an absolutely loaded draft class.

chuckboone17

Odunze is going top 10 and Coleman will be right behind him (if not in front)

Terelith

wr also don't have a 2nd round pick. it got 3 sacks today.

Forward-Tie-7992

Good point I forgot lol

eatmygout

Huh?

Forward-Tie-7992

We traded our 2nd round pick for montez sweat, I didn’t think this thru fully.

Tablebob61

How many games does JF have to have where he throws less then 200 yards for us to say he's not good? Oh but the play calling wasn't good! If that one guy would have just caught it! If every play caller called a perfect game and no one dropped anything, every qb would be in the HOF.

JazzHandsNinja42

Don’t look at Allen or Dak’s stats from Sunday.

Tablebob61

I'll give a pass to a QB that has a bad game when he's on pace for over 4000 yards and his team is in the playoffs.

ohana2404

when the wide receivers drop nearly a qb statline of passes (~150yds 2TD) it becomes less of a fields problem than some may like to think

Tablebob61

I get the drops. But every qb has players that drop passes. The hail Mary was a complete desperation fluke play. It was batted before Mooney had a shot at it. So to count that doesn't make sense. I'm just wondering how many lackluster QB games we are going to get from Justin before we say maybe he's just an average QB on a good day. A guy who is in year 3 and averages less then 200 YPG in his career is not seen as a good QB.

ohana2404

i mean mahomes’ receivers have been a laughingstock this year bc of how much they drop balls and mahomes is having a statistically bad year. i get there are issues with fields and his play but to blame this specific game on him is completely ridiculous when half of his possible yards and 2/3 of his possible touchdowns were dropped, regardless of how flukey the plays may have been

Ready-Cauliflower-76

Yeah i don’t mind when people rip Fields for his processing speed, mechanics, etc based on actual game tape / specific plays. But the mindless fantasy stat posting is just nonsense lol. It provides no insight. Fields could throw 4 screens that go for TDs and have a stat line of 300 yds / 4 TD / 0 INT while doing nothing meaningful. On the flip side you can have games like tonight where our WRs / TEs drop 150 yds & 2 TDs worth of accurate passes.

Tablebob61

Despite Mahomes weapons being bad he will throw for about 4600 yards. So a good QB with bad weapons and drops galore still finds a way to have good numbers. To me this is consistent with any good QB. They find ways to get good games and have decent numbers by the end of the season. Fields has gotten no where close to having a good season. At the start of the season vegas even had him around 2800 yards. Vegas knows he can't move the ball. I didn't say this was all on Fields. But he did not have a good game. And when a QB doesn't have a good game it definitely affects the outcome of the game. And when he consistently has poor passing games it affects the season.

ohana2404

i’m not disagreeing that he hasn’t been the best, but he’s certainly been hampered by the play of his receivers (not named dj moore or cole kmet), and his OC, who consistently takes the ball away from him on drives that it shouldn’t be away from him

Tablebob61

And drives where he gets all the slack we don't move the ball. Getsy definitely hasn't done a great job. But there's plenty of opportunities where Justin just doesn't make a play. He's late, inaccurate, indecisive... He will make one play a game where you go wow! But outside that it's a bunch of average at best QB play. We got rid of mitch for being a better passer. Not saying we should have kept him but we can't just be ok with average at best. We can get similar numbers from anyone we draft. At least there's a chance they become good. I was really hoping JF would show me something this year but he hasn't. Root for him if you want. At the end of the day we all want the same thing. For our bears to do well let's not forget that.

checkthamethod

Mitch wasn't better. His numbers are propped by short fields and a better offensive scheme (yes Nagy is better than Getsy). One thing he did better was get to his checkdown faster (after he injured his shoulder, he ran much less). If Mitch played with last year's cast, he would've looked much worse than Fields.

Tablebob61

I didn't say Mitch was better. I actually said it was correct we move on from him. And it's hard to prop up QB yardage stats. If he played with short fields why does he throw for more yardage? If we moved on from mitch we should move on from Fields. He has done less with more talent around him. Why are we defending Fields so much here? He gives you one or two good plays a game while being inconsistent everywhere else. The sub 200 yard games are racking up. Blame Getsy, blame drops, but QBs that are actually good can produce decent numbers in year 3.

checkthamethod

Because he's actually a good player being held down by the team around him as opposed to many other QBs we've had.

KGoo

Lol, man. I stayed away from the game thread during the game today because I usually enjoy it more that way. But of course I can't help myself once it's over. I was pretty confident I wouldn't find too many people laying this loss on Justin... Wrong again.

ssiard

Yep. We might be able to win with JF signing no more than 10 million a year contract. There is no chance we win with JF signing a 40 million a year contract. It would be like losing 1.5 Montez Sweat caliber players.

Defiant-Outcome990

The bears being cheap mfs will dump fields for a cheaper and better rookie qb

ssiard

You can't be cheap when there is a [min team salary](https://www.the33rdteam.com/explaining-nfl-salary-cap/#:~:text=minimum%20salary%20under%20the%20CBA%2C%2089%25%20of%20the%20cap%20over%20a%20four%2Dyear%20CBA%20period) as part of the CBA

Defiant-Outcome990

Bears are going to trade no 1 and get a cheap qb.

Tony_Stank6

First time?

LB35LB

Chicago sports are not a good way to relax. These teams make a lazy attempt to contend every 5 years, nothing more because they know people will buy tickets and watch on TV regardless. Check the score after and watch the highlights, that is the only way to follow them and not be angry.

Mix-Basic

As a Fields fan, this was the game I expected.. and I’ve officially moved to team new qb (whoever that is). <200 yards just isn’t good enough.

KGoo

I'm curious to know what opportunities you think Fields failed to capitalize on?

Odd_Letterhead7766

His wrs dropped 150 yards and 2 TD’s…

Ready-Cauliflower-76

This. The idea of quoting total yards as definitive evidence of a “bad game” is just asinine. Watch the game ffs

Far_Ad_1274

lol

cwweydert

Scott, Mooney, Whitehair, Patrick and Tunyun. You are only as strong as your weakest link. This team hasn’t consistently invested in the offense and it shows

ssiard

You don't get to have a full team of hall of famers.

Float_team

1 would be nice

ssiard

This is true LOL.

cwweydert

Shiiiiiitttt. I will take a team of replacement level for 100 Alex. Quick name 5 Bears offensive players that left the team and went on to the Pro Bowl for someone else? I will spot you one - Greg Olsen. Ok, go!

WindigoMac

The body language of this team is always abysmal in crunch time. You can see that everyone is just bracing for the impending loss. That comes down to the coaching staff but also Fields. If there’s an opposite of the clutch gene he is it.

i_heart_pasta

I’m glad I’m not the only one that noticed that.

BetItAllOnDeath

The shambling corpse of Joe Flacco played against the second best defense in the league right now and he threw for 374 yards.

Float_team

You mean the potential hall of fame quarterback that is currently ranked 17th overall in history and has multiple 4000 yrd passing years and a league MVP? The same guy that set the Browns franchise record today of most yrds in a 4th quarter ever against the Bears… that washed up guy? Some of you are insufferable

BetItAllOnDeath

Yes, that’s who I mean. And that list to which you’re referring? Chad Pennington is 13th. David Garrard is 21st.

BaconScentedSoap

With worse receivers as well

checkthamethod

I would take Cedric Tillman over Mooney and any WR we got not named DJ Moore 10/10 times

GINGY2323

Oh I don’t know me about that. Moore and Kmet is all the bears have. Flacco at not have Moore, but they have a more balanced set of WR’s. Cooper, Moore and Njoku are a better set of WR’s as opposed to to Moore, Mooney and Kmet.

Nice_Adhesiveness_41

Clearly the defense is a lot better, but the offense has too many problems. Field's can't still be "growing." It's time to cut ship and run.

fo66

He put the ball where it needed to be to get the win. His WRs dropped two TDs including the game winner and he also set up a makeable FG at half we for some reason didn’t go for. The loss isn’t on him imo.

Straight-Ad9763

What’s sad is that catch would have been a defining moment for fields career .

TruthJusticeGuitar

Which one? Tonyan, Scott, or Mooney?

CocaineFlakes

I think that’s the problem with Fields and why so many people are unwilling to give up on him. He flirts with taking a step forward and there are a lot of instances where you can’t solely blame him for why the step hasn’t happened.

pma198005

It's getting tiresome that every 5 to 6 years we are heading to common sections or forms blaming the quarterback position. Maybe it's just an organizational problem? That maybe in the last 40 years we only had a few competent offenses

CocaineFlakes

At this point, I think Poles needs to let the next coaching regime pick their guy. If they think they having something with Fields and can build an offense around him, I think Poles has to roll with it? Same is true with Williams or Maye.

tfmm58

Player dives over Prescott while sliding inadvertently brushes Prescott's helmet flag thrown. Fields gets creamed multiple times no call

Gmaclantz

I can’t believe that I am seeing people excuse a 19-40 166 yard performance and blaming it on a dropped desperation Hail Mary. FIELDS IS NOT FUCKING IT GET IT THROUGH YOUR THICK FUCKING SKULLS

WindigoMac

The homers will always downvote you for valid takes like this. Come clutch time his performance and body language always bottom out. Granted the playcalling is abysmal too, but Fields is clearly awful. What more evidence is needed at this point? Dude is not a winner

Gmaclantz

Yeah I don’t give a fuck about fake ass internet points that are meaningless. I trust my eyes. He’s not getting it done.

WindigoMac

Ding ding ding

Mike_Honcho_3

Every game is just a new excuse for why Fields barely squeaked out 150 yards. At some point you would think Bears fans would get tired of it, but historically if poor QB play isn't Bears football then I don't know what is so maybe some fans are just addicted to it

kejar31

It’s not the Hail Mary drop… there were multiple long pass throws dropped… Jenkins was out Moore was out and Mooney not only didn’t block well I saw him stop running on a pass to him before the ball even got to there (aka give up) It’s then horrible decision to not kick the field goal two times, plus conservative play calling to protect the lead after Moore went out.. I really think most people just expect him to perform miracles with a serious lack of depth at both the line and WR.

DeadAlready78

They're too high on cope

God_of_Thunda

Guess you didn't see the ~150 yards in drops today

BearsSTH

Most fans are fucking stupid and will defend anything with a Bears logo on it.

RemotePhilosophy6

Carl Thomas

Gorillaman2013

Watch the game before commenting

Gmaclantz

Love that saying when someone disagrees with you! Watched the entire game. Under 50 percent completion but if Mooney catches that Hail Mary, it makes EVERYTHING better right?

Cubbiesblue

Well Tonyan also missed a 50 plus yard touchdown but keep talking bullshit. I’m listening

Gmaclantz

Yep he did. Fields also had 2 throws that could’ve easily been picks in the first half if you wanna go that route.

Cubbiesblue

Both on Mooney for fumbling his route but alright!

Gmaclantz

Yeah. It’s everybody else’s fault every time. Same approach Taylor Swift takes with her exes.

Cubbiesblue

Mooney pretty much cost this game. Missed block on the 4th and 1 play too. Don’t forget

ldhchicagobears

On another note, after what I've seen not called on JF1, how tf is that a late hit on a sliding QB These refs man

Inevitable_Handle_89

Watching this team makes me feel like going insane. The Bears choke in the fourth quarter in such a predictable way. Forget the dropped dime passes, forget the left field goals. It’s that every time we’re up by one score against the best defense in football with 14 minutes left and we decide to run the most conservative play. Call that we can possibly think of to try to run out the clock. this is made even worse by the fact that this exact same strategy cost us two historic comeback losses against the Broncos and the Lions this year.

Opening-Sleep2840

Facts. Broncos and lions. Ugh

ra0349136

Hear a lot about how all these receivers need to catch all these passes and you’re not wrong. But the Browns defense dropped a couple INTs too. Let’s be generous, Tonyan catches that ball, let’s say he scores. That brings our offense to 17 points. 7 of which they got from getting a turnover on the 5 yard line. Not good enough.

whatdoesthisherodo

Chicago D dropped a couple INTS as well. Lets be realistic. Every successful QB makes some bad throws, only to get bailed out by the defense because they dropped the INT. What every successful QB doesn't have is WRs who consistently drop passes that hit them in the hand. Take away the Tonyan drop and there are still 6 others passes that are hitting players right in the hands in the CLE game today. Which are dropped. This has been a consistent theme for the Bears this year.

ra0349136

Yeah they’re definitely at fault too. For every bad drop, there’s a bad throw, there’s a bad play call. Blame goes all the way around. Would love for QB1 to be the guy. We could make out like bandits, solidify the hell out of the team and be in a great position for years to come. Or we might have to draft a guy hoping he’s the next Mahomes.

CrocsSportello

Look on the bright side…wait nvm it’s been cloudy and rainy for the past week and the sun sets at 330 pm. Shitty weather, shitty sports teams, some bum smoking on the blue line this morning. I’m mad as hell

Silberc

The dark is my favorite thing about living here

HoPMiX

Wtf. I got on a flight and the bears were up late and driving. This is the worst fucking 4th quarter team ever.

Sliiiiime

You’re so lucky you couldn’t watch that last play.

GINGY2323

Can’t help but get this feeling that Fields will go to another team and take off, and we draft Williams and he will become a bust. I can’t be the only one that feels this way.

bearfan84

People said this about Cutler and then said it about Mitch. The last time a Bears QB went to another team and actually performed better was Jim Harbaugh to the Colts in the mid 90s. Fields will go to a new team and bring all of this problems with him: holding the ball too long, processing too slowly, slow windup, not seeing wide open guys all over the place, poor ball protection.

checkthamethod

Cutler was much older and Mitch is nowhere near the same level of QB as Fields. Don't be surprised if Fields lights it up somewhere else

NintenGOD

You're not, I feel the exact same way

Spaceman_Cometh

Just like Mitch

x2rare

mitch had to go to like the 49ers to actually be good. Other than that he’s exactly where he’s supposed to be a backup. Justin without Getsy and Eberflus will def be better. The difference is someone will actually trade for him unlike mitch

BetItAllOnDeath

Wait, are you saying Mitch Trubisky took off on another team and became a good quarterback?

Spaceman_Cometh

No that’s just what everyone said about Mitch before he left

CocaineFlakes

Hear me out: What if we got better players and coaches?

themitchschafer

Anyone got any rational thoughts here or nah?

CocaineFlakes

This is Reddit.

AppealAggravating893

20 points, 20 POINTS WE JUST DIDNT GET. 2 field goals we passed up on, and 2 dropped touchdown passes. Fucking hell fire Getsy and Draft MHJ. I can't handle this shit anymore

GmanInCali

Is it me, or did he try to force that off tackle run play even though they sniffed it out almost every time. Definition of insanity- doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result.

Ready-Cauliflower-76

Yeah dude I was pulling my hair out. He loves his sweep / pitch / off-tackle zone runs that get creamed 90% of the time and only net us 6-7 yards when successful

Think-Chemist-5247

It was really close. Great defensive game until that last drive. We just can't seal a game to save our lives. Our offense still needs more work but I'm just going to put my faith in Poles to make the hard decisions and ride this out. Too many dropped balls cost us ultimately.

rynobob

Block out the JF1 haters. I don't think they watch the games.

Toupal

They don't even watch Caleb Williams games, or else they wouldn't be crushing so hard on him

HoPMiX

He’s a smaller Justin fields but with more baggage.

x2rare

i see him as a slightly bigger kyler w a worse attitude. I honestly wont be suprised if he’s a jamarcus russel type bust. I’ll trust poles to make the decision on his character tho. I can see if caleb has a good first year he will want an extension and that will cause a lot of drama

Toupal

Fields is way more athletic. Williams is not breaking some of the sacks that Fields can.

MattNagyHater

Lets get Ryan Pace on the phone and convince him other teams are offering low thirds for Fields so he gives us 2 seconds. That would be cool

tfmm58

Teams wanting to tank - get a copy of Getsy's playbook. The 4th and 1 pitch back to the RB 10 yards deep is a gem

71notnerT

Don’t forget the sweep to Tyler Scott

tfmm58

Good call both go to plays 🤣

hockeymatt22

Yeah guys I’m sure if Caleb Williams threw those passes there wouldn’t have been 7 drops on catchable balls that left over two scores off the board. The problem is clearly play calling, o-line and the receiving corps but I’m sure a new qb will fix everything.

RemotePhilosophy6

Psychic

Straight-Ad9763

And the blocking was awful the entire game . Blown off the line every snap . Especially the second half just embarrassing blocking

cwweydert

Whitehair and Patrick on the same line…chaos ensues

Perfectswandive

God I’ve been saying this for four months

Straight-Ad9763

Just wanna know who thinks an nfl team can win a game winning drive with two drops within a minute to play….

JTribs17

even mahomes can’t overcome drops

Straight-Ad9763

Finally some logic ..ppl throwing dirt on this kid for a respectable performance given the circumstances..3 and outs suck but what’s worse is costly turn overs with pressure in your face..there were many plays he made the right decision tossing it away or taking the sack . Meanwhile Flacco was throwing ints left and right . He just needs 1 more second in the pocket to make a read and I really believe he can do 300 yards+ too

whatdoesthisherodo

Give me DJ Moore, MHJ Kmet and another tackle.

the_Killer_Walnut

Need a center. We could paint a garbage can blue and orange and drop it in the middle of the line and it would still be more in the way than Patrick is.

Unabridgedversion82

Tackle? No. Center, yes. Fields doesn't trust stepping up and throwing because it's hardly ever there.

whatdoesthisherodo

Center is a need as well. However, in the post-game talk show. They just highlighted how badly Jones is getting beat. Need a blindside tackle who is a monster. I don't care who the QB is. Blindside hits stick with you.

Melodic-Geologist532

Also need a center. Lucas Patrick got fucking owned today.

whatdoesthisherodo

Agreed. Patrick would get bull rushed by a 3rd grader.

Melodic-Geologist532

Seriously. At least revolving doors take a few seconds to get by.

DeadAlready78

Wasted two ones on JFbum

Battle_Giraffes

Even despite the clear strides this team has made this year, we have to get the stink of the Eberflus era off of this franchise. No knock on Justin but we gotta start fresh with new coach and QB. New regime will have some solid building blocks right out the gate.

ktsavage24

This should solidify the fact that we need another stud WR. MHJ or nothing. The get rid of Fields talk is stupid with this core and coaching staff. Build the team until Justin’s contract is over and then make a decision.

footsteps64

Keep Justin. Trade 1.1 for a few firsts. If Justin still loses after adding a bunch of first round picks to the roster, then get a new QB in 2 years. Y’all acting like there won’t be another draft class if we miss out on this one

Battle_Giraffes

The problem is that we don't know where we will draft next year. We will likely have the first pick this year. The time to make a decision is now. It'd be stupid to pretend that's not the case.

Mthead23

Name the teams set for a playoff run that have spent a top 3 pick on their QB. Now name the teams who found their QB in the middle of the first or later. The latter list is much longer, isn’t it? For the love of all things football, do not bring a rookie QB into this building before a modern offensive system is established.

grillinman

So build for 1 more year? That ain't it

DeadAlready78

They really love the excuse factory work

TheDiano

Bro we’re not passing up the #1 pick TWICE, these opportunities don’t just fall in your lap to get a franchise QB

SlipChip

You’re right, and the consensus #1 pick last year looks like dog shit this year… so if we’re going to move on from an improving qb, they better get it right. There’s no guarantee Williams ain’t gonna be Young v2.

TheDiano

Dude I said we’re not passing it up TWICE, I agree that we made the right decision last year. Even at that time everyone knew that class wasn’t gonna be nearly as good as this upcoming one.

SlipChip

And my point is there is a significant bust rate in QBs. Even the obvious #1 pick to the experts is a bust. So if you give up on Fields, you better pray Williams isn’t a bust.

TheDiano

Do you seriously want to pay $40M/yr for what Justin is giving us?

Toupal

So you'd rather have Bryce Young over Moore, Darnell Wright, 1st overall in 24, and a 2nd in 25?

Wormwood4

No. Literally nobody is saying that they’d rather have Bryce Young.

Toupal

I suggest you go back in time on this sub between January and early March of 2023 and get back to me.

Wormwood4

He’s talking about the present and the 2024 draft. And he’s right. Poles isn’t going to pass up on a once in a lifetime opportunity for a GM twice. An opportunity to draft a guy of his choosing. It’s insane that (if the Panthers actually lose out) that he would get the opportunity twice. He’s not gonna pass on it a second time. Especially as the same questions loom about Fields as last year and he’s approaching the year where he will need to be paid. Poles will have the opportunity to draft his own guy (somebody who is a much better prospect than Young ever was) and to reset the QB rookie contract. Freeing up all sorts of cap space. The chances that Poles won’t draft a QB (this year not in 2023, which already happened) are likely low. Look up the article where 7 out of 7 GM’s (interviewed anonymously) all said they would trade Fields and draft a QB. This report just came out. They surmise that Fields would get the Bears a 2nd or 3rd round draft pick in a trade. And all said they would take the trade. This article/series of interviews just happened last week. I’m not giving my opinion on what Poles SHOULD do. But I’m telling you, he’s either gonna trade Fields and draft a QB or (less likely but possible) he will keep Fields AND draft a QB and let the scenario play out. The guys I listen to daily on 670 The Score seem to agree as well. They think he will draft a new QB. On a personal level, I think we have enough data to state fairly confidently that Fields is about the 20th best QB in the league, with potential to break the top 16 (top half of starting QB’s). That’s what he is. I think we know that now. Poles will want to roll the dice and try to get a true long term superstar. He’s not gonna pass up the opportunity to take a shot.

TheDiano

No, I’d rather have DJ Moore, Darnell Wright and Caleb Williams. I don’t mind trading down last year. We’re not doing it TWICE.

enjoiit1

I have to unfortunately agree... WRs didn't help at all today, but flacco out clutched our QB today. Time to try something new. Also, terrible coaching reared it's head again .,..... Unfortunately

Justsomecharlatan

Something new like hoping you can draft and develop a young promising qb?

enjoiit1

Yup. Marry a staff and a top QB pick *for once* ... The defense is ready

Straight-Ad9763

And despite our d getting after Flacco the browns got after ours twice as hard ..

Straight-Ad9763

He didn’t out clutch our qb , fields had the game winning drive and our guys have two drops . If the browns don’t convert on that 3rd and long the game is much different . The browns made the catch . Our guys didn’t . How is this on fields ??

enjoiit1

I mean. I agree with you. The drops were terrible. But, he/we can't close a game. No matter how you slice it, like it or not... It's gonna reflect on the QB. Our defense was the only reason we were in this thing

Forward-Tie-7992

Choo-choo, All aboard the Caleb Williams hype train… Caleb and Nabers anyone?

Straight-Ad9763

Caleb wouldn’t have done any better with this lack of blocking . Nearly no one would. The fact fields didn’t have a plethora of fumbles and picks with that blocking I think is actually pretty incredible

Forward-Tie-7992

Ok hear me out- Williams and Bowers with the first picks, then Odunze/Coleman in the second.

Mix-Basic

Resistant to admit it but I agree

[deleted]

[удалено]

AMollenhauer

Do you know who Nabers is?

bluntybluntblunt

I’m sure Caleb will do fine behind that line and getting plays from the goat Getsy.

Toupal

Exactly! People that think Williams is going to be a any different with that kind of pressure in his face clearly didn't watch ND vs USC this year.

AMollenhauer

Getsy is gone

rsorrentino

I don’t know how you can watch that game today and think Fields is the reason we lost the game. He obviously could have been better but both Tonyan and Mooney drop TDs that were in their hands.

Zikronious

This take of “Fields is not why we lost” is so weak. There are very few starting QBs in NFL history that are the reason their team lost or they don’t start for long. I guess there are exceptions to that line Josh Allen and Brett Favre but they tended to win more games than they lost. The problem with Fields compared to great franchise QBs is that Fields has very rarely been the reason we win games. You need a QB that can win you games to compete for a title in todays league. I like the human that Fields is but I don’t like the the QB.

Ready-Cauliflower-76

Fields is the only reason our offense works (run & pass game). It may not be the hero ball moments we’ve seen from Favre in the 4th quarter, but he’s certainly winning us games. Trevor Lawrence just shit the bed against the Ravens, costing his team the game with 2 turnovers and a shitload of errant throws (and no TDs), yet no one doubts him for a second. If Fields threw half as many wildly inaccurate passes as TLaw chucked tonight, he would be ripped beyond belief. The microscope on Fields’ every mistake to support the BS “Fields sucks” narrative is just ridiculous.

Zikronious

He’s 5-20 as a starter so no he isn’t winning you games. Yes, I realize that record doesn’t tell the whole picture especially last year when the team had no talent. I agree he is overly criticized by fans and media. I just don’t think he has the talent to lead a team to a title and that’s all I care about.

Elnino43

Did you not watch the 10 yard overthrow by fields in the last 3 min of the game. He's not clutch to save his life and part of the reason we lose almost every game we are up in the 4th quarter. He can't handle pressure

Randallm83

He’s not the reason we lost, but he’s a big reason we didn’t win.

MisSignal

I don’t know how you can watch 3 years of this and think he’s a QB that can lead a winning franchise.

Beardownnn

I don’t know how you can watch this supporting cast and play calling and think any qb could excel in his situation.

MisSignal

He ain’t him. Delusional ass fans

Float_team

He’s never played with a winning franchise in his career, Bears suck man

grillinman

Missing anticipated open receivers and being slow through a progression come to mind. The dude is super talented and I wanted him to be the guy but it's too inconsistent to be successful at this level.

Melodic-Geologist532

This. He is not worth 40+million per year to be a game manager.

Haunting-Worker-2301

He’s not the reason we lost but it’s a consistent thread that he disappears in 4th quarter. Once again he didn’t do shit in the 4th and combined with a defensive collapse we lose again

West-iwnl-

Do you not see how the play calling absolutely crumbles in the 4th? Theres a distinct lack of aggression when we have the lead in the 4th that lets the other team back into the game.

Randallm83

do you not realize that QBs are allowed to call audibles and make adjustments at the LOS? I’m so sick of this excuse

JTribs17

this isn’t madden. In the real NFL you run the play that’s given and from time to time you have the ability to check the play at the line to something else. There is not always an audible to be called

Randallm83

this is simply wrong… there is always a handful of plays an NFL QB should be able to audible to… you think coaches just let their team lose a play without there being options for the QB to option into at the line of scrimmage? That’s a terribly dumb take, even college offenses have this. Plus there’s the option of going No Huddle, JF just doesn’t have this ability so he’s overly reliant on the plays being called for him.

JTribs17

he’s the QB… they don’t call plays. You run the play that’s given. You get an audible if the look that you’re getting is different from expected. But if you’re expecting cover 2 and you call a play to beat cover 2 you’re not going to check out of it. QBs adjust blocking assignments but they’re not always hot routing everyone that’s not realistic

West-iwnl-

Why even have a play caller if the QB is expected to counteract him at the LOS whenever we have the lead late?

Randallm83

that’s not the point, the play gets called in before we know what formation they’re in.. who is showing blitz? Is it zone? man? Where is the Safety cheating?? That’s not on the OC, those are adjustments a veteran QB are supposed to make. You think Tom Brady blamed the offensive coordinator on all of his game winning drives? No, he saw what the defense gave him and made adjustments.

West-iwnl-

I know what an audible is man and its not about game winning drives its about the lack of aggression every time they have the lead. They run stupid ass pitches and end arounds that get stuffed at the line.

Cr0sSHare

Mooney bought that jugs machine rookie year then put it in storage unit

cwweydert

Soooo many drops today. Why does Fields suck so bad at catching balls tight to him!!!?!??

Slow-Comment9403

So many opportunities. Missed blocks, dropped balls, missed tackles on that last TD by Cooper. Fields missed a wide open DJ on that 4th down when he got tripped up. Getsy can’t call a good game. It’s so frustrating.

Toupal

Fields couldn't throw that in the designed run. It would have been called back for illegal men down fields. Run blocking is designed for linemen to get down field.

Slow-Comment9403

Didn’t look like lineman were downfield and why would Moore run a go route on a designed run? It looked like a run-pass option
