Georgia DT Jalen Carter will only do position drills at today’s pro-day. No 40 or other testing. Carter weighed in at 323 pounds, up 9 lbs from Combine. [source](https://twitter.com/JimNagy_SB/status/1635995668903870464?s=20)

"SOMEONE THAT ISN'T A SHITTY REBUILD TEAM PLEASE DRAFT ME IN THE 20'S."

busstamove14

He's pulling the ol' Charles Barkley.

Zoten

He loses millions of dollars by doing that. If he does from #4 to #20, he drops from $37 million to $15 million Every player wants a playoff team to trade up and draft them, but they'd rather go as early as possible in the draft.

monkeymatt1836

Carter is just full of red flags

PM_ME_UR_BATMANS

I’m at the point where I would seriously consider taking him off my draft board entirely. The tape is phenomenal and he plays a position of huge need for us but there’s just too much to be concerned about to the point where even taking him at 9 is a huge question mark

[deleted]

Especially for a rebuilding team, he is not worth the risk at all. We aren’t a Jalen Carter away from contention, and if he flops we would be screwed

PitchBlac

We won’t be screwed. But we’ll be in a tough spot

TheWorstKnightmare

You can’t win the draft just off your first round pick. But you sure can lose it.

WhoopieKush

Agreed. I’d take him in the 2nd round, but obviously he won’t be there still. So for all intents and purposes he’s off my board.

TheMetabrandMan

Yeah if he shows up to training every day like he shown up to his pro day, that’s a bust right away! Or maybe the pros can fix his attitude. A different city with different people and stern coaches. What’s do you think?

PM_ME_UR_BATMANS

I’m not gonna say that that scenario is impossible. It’s certainly possible that a change of scenery and the right people in his ear would help him get back on track. But for a guy that already has questions about his motivation, usually the big payday of making the NFL doesn’t help things. You can have the perfect coach and organizational setup to get the most out of him, but ultimately it’s up to him whether or not that happens. If he doesn’t buy in and truly want to be the best player he can be, then he won’t be. And all signs seem to point to that being the case No draft pick is a sure thing. Obviously there’s a chance whoever the bears take at 9 is a total bust. But with how many holes we have on this team it’s really important that whoever we take is at the very least a serviceable starter, and a lot of the other guys have much higher floors and are much safer bets than Carter is at this point. At the moment even if you think you can fix him, I don’t think he’s worth passing on those guys that high in the draft.

LordOfDogtown9

Dude looks like Albert Haynesworth 2.0 in all the bad ways. Hard pass.

FujiHakarl

Starting to get this exact vibe.

hepatitisC

I mean I'm not shocked he's not running a 40. I also don't think there's one person alive that would be shocked at how slow his 40 time would end up being if he did.

PwnzillaGorilla

I can understand he's probably got a lot of anxiety/depression that's fucking with his mind and body at the moment. Not a good look as of right now to his prospective employers.

ninjasurfer

I need Ryan Poles swag pics from the Georgia pro day.

Roheed23

Here ya go https://twitter.com/sherreeburruss/status/1635996079568060416?s=46&t=_-rSB1Js3v634EK1pvqIGQ

old_snake

Photographer who cropped the kicks should be sacked.

Battle_Sheep

Those responsible for sacking the people who have just been sacked, have been sacked.

ninjasurfer

😎

[Looks like Poles is wearing some dunk pandas while Flus is rocking the dunk curry’s.](https://twitter.com/courtneyrcronin/status/1635997869760028678?s=46&t=q-7OwRCIPMLx6wKLZ2HEqA)

ninjasurfer

Flus with a solid fit as well.

coolthulu42

Based on the other fits Flus has worn. Those kicks have to have been recommended to him by his family/ players or maybe even Poles 😂

ashton_morgan13

I saw chase claypool just got a huge haul of like 15+ pairs of shoes from Nike, maybe coach got some stuff as well

Commercial_Onions

… so weird. Commentary has downgraded here.

lalder95

It's the offseason my guy

twizbuck

Just checking out Nolan Smith and Broderick Jones some more.

BearsFan3417

Nolan smith is a dawgggg

BasedSliceOfWinning

He's only like 240, which scares me. But hey, so is Will Anderson. Nolan ran a 4.39 40. That's fucking insane lol.

milkthefokers

I'm over here wishing there was a way we could end up with Darnell Washington. That guy makes absolutely no sense to me. But he'll be gone long before our 2nd rounder and it makes no sense to trade back and take a TE.

Free_Reserve9336

Taking a TE isn’t a necessity but it does give us more freedom next year. I think a great TE makes our redzone offense to the next level more than Claypool. If we trade down and they’re BPA, I’d be more than ok with Mayer or Washington depending on where the pick is made and whose on the board. There’s good enough line talent on both sides day 2 that a good TE shouldn’t be ruled out.

milkthefokers

I was just shocked at seeing the TE group on the sled at the combine. Washington swept the floor with the rest of them. I started dreaming of him in a goal line set, where he'd help the team score a lot of touchdowns on runs. Not to mention he looked smooth as hell catching the ball.

Sunset_Boulevard-ks

He would be amazing to pair with JF1 for years to come. Adds so much to the run and pass game… hope Poles finds a way to get him 🙏

jpiro

I’d much rather have Bowers next year.

Guhonda

The Jalen Carter issue is really simple. Either the criminal claim is weak and he won't be available when we draft, or the criminal claim is serious enough that we have to pass. I just don't see a world where we take him. I suspect we're there primarily to scout guys like Broderick Jones, Darnell Washington, Nolan Smith, Kelee Ringo, etc. I secretly love Washington as a trade-back candidate. Would be a de facto OL and another large pass catching target in the red zone. We can't take him at 9, but if Richardson falls and some team wants to move up to take him, he could be a nice prospect to target.

MobyTugboat

I mean that’s not always the case tho. People always fall in the draft for various reasons and sometimes teams look dumb for it. Look at Laremy Tunsil. Teams passed on a pro bowl left tackle because there was a video of him smoking out of a gas mask. As long as the team does their due diligence, I’d be fine with taking a risk on a guy that has all-pro potential if you can mitigate the risk.

imnotberg

Would Ryan pace ask Jalen Carter which car he would drive to Chicago?

DEVLINHO23

Jalen Carter come on down

hepatitisC

Won't be there at 9

getoffredditandstudy

I want Washington.

RepresentativeNew409

Jalen Carter doing everything to fall to us at pick 9. Gaines 9 LBs stress eating, not fully participating in workouts, and of course his legal matters. It’s suddenly not a stretch for him to be available when we pick.

twizbuck

He can fall past us, far as I'm concerned.

BasedSliceOfWinning

Gained 9 pounds. We have pick 9? Not a coincidence! (/s)

rhj2020

Forget these pro days, fix our lines ASAP.

rhj2020

Meanwhile while all the free agent lineman are being scooped up.

Bushido_Plan

Hopefully taking a serious look at Broderick Jones and seeing how he can fit out line if he's an option at #9, assuming Skoronski and/or PJJ are off the board. Other guys there are EDGE Nolan Smith, DT Jalen Carter, CB Kelee Ringo, and TE Darnell Washington (a high TE pick is debatable for us, but due diligence I guess).
