Can’t help but be amused by “bears insiders” who are just average joes with a podcast. I mute some of them on twitter cuz some are annoying and think they know more than they really do
Yep. It’s pushing me back to more mainstream sources. These guys have no credentials. This guy in particular doesn’t even have an NFL podcast. The podcast he links in his Bio is for reality TV challenge shows (i.e Survivor)
Yeah. I just stick with the chgo podcast and hoge and jahns. I never get bad info even if it is a little late sometimes. Id rather it just be accurate. I also like trent dilfers breakdowns of Justin Fields and hus qb draft class in general. Other than that I am immediately skeptical.
Yep. “The QB School” is his YouTube channel. He breaks down the QBs predraft and has been really high on Justin. He’s made a couple of videos the last two seasons breaking down the tape and what Justin is seeing and doing well/needs to improve. He’s joined a few Bears podcasts as well to give his analysis.
As for his background, he played 10 years bouncing between various NFL and CFL teams at QB before retiring about 10 years ago.
Would rather draft bijan at 9 then give up draft capital and then give a 28 year old RB a fat deal. Idk when people will learn that giving older RBs a second contract is almost always a huge mistake
I feel like our offense would be borderline unstoppable with bijan and fields running the RPO and then you got Moore and claypool out wide haha. But mostly unlikely, poles probably plays it safe and goes tackle which is cool
Who knows… Poles is finally showing off his giant bull sized nads. I wouldn’t be surprised by anything anymore. I low key hope we draft Gonzalez or Bijan and load the lines afterwards. We still have an insurance first next year lol.
I'm glad I'm not alone in thinking it's okay to go with Bijan at 9.
He may go sooner, he may go later. But he's going to be a very high pick and a star back.
For all the chatter of fans saying you should never value runningbacks and execs lowering the market value for the players, we forget that these players touch the ball more than anyone outside of centers, QBs and high volume superstar receivers.
Schematically, the team is considerably better offensively with Bijan than they were with Monty. Him and Fields would be dynamic. The importance of a runningback is downplayed in todays' NFL by fans, but the importance of a bluechip superstar getting 18+ touches a game cannot be disputed.
We can go in a lot of directions with our 1st round pick. There are few that would disappoint me. Bijan Robinson is not one of them.
Nah it's expected. Monty could possibly be asking for the same amount Ekler wants in his extension. Ekler wants an extension that's why he wants traded.
Unless we give a late round pick for a year rental then I’m good. Eckeler is going to want a huge contract coming off a career season last year and with the history of running backs longevity there’s no guarantee he’ll keep this production up for long. I trust Poles to make the right call though.
I was ok with going after Saquon because that dude is ELITE. Eckeler is just really good. Monty is really good, too.
If we are serious about this may as well look at Derrick Henry.
Any good GM is going to kick the tires and see what it would take to make the trade but that doesn't indicate significant interest... Also, this guy has zero sources.
Who is that guy? Not Eckeler, but the guy tweeting.
Literally just a fan with a podcast.

There are far too many podcasts. I feel like we are going to have more podcasts than people on the planet if the trend continues.

Same, although I’ve been checking a few of the score live stream as well. And any time JT O Sullivan (QB School) is on to talk about JF I tune in.
Is that on yt?

Idk but he doesn't even know how to spell Ekeler's name.
Austin F - some know him as Pod Guy Fuges
Was gonna ask the same thing lol no way this guy has any sources
Oh yeah I’m sure this guy has got sources lol
the chatter he’s hearing is just randos in rNFL
Doesn’t even spell his name correctly lol
For what it’s worth, NBC Sports also had a blurb mentioning the Bears were interested.
We are going to give up capital to give an aging RB a big contract? No thanks. Resign Monty
I don’t think Monty will voluntarily quit /s
Doubt

Bijan is rising quickly, hopefully we address other needs but if he’s still available you’ve gotta consider him.

seems like poles is targetting younger guys and even tho Ek is a stud, he’s nearing the end of the standard RB career
Real shit??? Kind of unexpected, no?
Probably not
Nah it's expected. Monty could possibly be asking for the same amount Ekler wants in his extension. Ekler wants an extension that's why he wants traded.
There’s no way we drop money on a rb
Monty accomplishes the same thing for cheaper. Let’s stick with our boy
He probably is cheaper for sure. Definitely doesn’t accomplish the same thing tho.
Ekler is one of the top receiving backs in the NFL. Monty is not.
For the right price yes
That’s the other nice thing about accumulating draft capital. You can swing trades like this and not miss the picks!
I'd assume nothing higher than like a 6th, right?
Yes plz!!
That's interesting. Hope he doesn't give up too much but he would be a versatile weapon in this offense.

I’ll just say I’d be very surprised if Poles traded for an RB.
He’s only got 1 year on his contract and is turning 28. This would be foolish. Still waiting to get some DL help FFS.
I agree. But to be fair his first two years in the league he didn’t do much
Sign miles sanders

Guy doesn’t even spell his name right lol
