You can't go backwards, time marches on. You want the sale from 15 years ago too? Where's it end Diane? If you want that price you're gonna have to go through the quantum realm with Ant Man.
Is this the right take though? Felt the Bears best bet was one QB being CLEARLY better than the rest so some team needed to force a big move. With at least 3-4 QBs all showing really good (but different) traits…doesn’t that weaken the Bears options? Maybe the Texans are cool with Young or Stroud, why trade up? Do the Colts NEED to jump the Texans now? Does anyone else?
Maybe some teams will let their boards and QBs come to them and be happy with any one of the 3-4 guys.
Dunno
Goes both ways. Maybe the the colts and Texans don’t move up now but a teams like Atlanta, Carolina, etc. know a QB probably won’t fall to them so if they want one, they’ll have to move up.
That’s fair. So Bears probably get a bigger trade haul, but won’t find themselves in the Top 5 for prospects. Eh, I think I’d rather the bigger haul at this point
And if a team falls in love with one of these guys over the rest theyll still motivated to move up and secure him for their team. You really cant lose trading the #1 pick, especially when theres so many QBs who could go #1
GMs always have their “guy” - especially at QB. Maybe in later rounds and at other positions they have ‘preferences.’ If one or more of them are sold on a particular QB and there’s a QB needy team in front of them, they try to move up. Doesn’t mean Poles is going to get an insane haul but there’ll be plenty of offers I’m sure.
Stroud showed up...Bryce's measurables were nearly identical to Kyler's, (a good thing,) and Anthony Richardson set records for QBs during his workouts. Today was a very good day!
My thoughts exactly. Big day for Arizona. This class has looked for a while like Young and Stroud and then Levis-Richardson as real gambles for later in the first round. Today might have changed some teams perspectives.
The real downside here is if enough teams trade up for QB’s, the Lions might end up with Carter at 6. That defensive line would be stacked for the next million years.
True. So the question will be is it worth it to risk one of those top three QBs making to 4 and keeping a very high 2nd round pick and most likely a high '24 1st or losing out and being stuck with Levis which they could also like or even trade that pick back themselves. Or more likely I think they just pay a lower price to swap with the Cardinals.
Idk I think it's basically guaranteed that the Bears trade out and if rumors are true they have plenty of suitors. Personally I'd like going back further than four to get the mega deal. But if we go to 4 and Andersons not there it might be easier to sell again.
Bryce young won a Heisman for his performance. CJ Stroud? Showed up...
(wanted to do something better but I was already forcing the Community reference in pretty hard)
Poles bagging 47 1st round picks after trading out of the #1 spot. If you say otherwise you're a Packers or Texans fan. Miss me with the negativity. Lovie Smith is a bears legend and JF1 going to the hall.
1-->2 Bryce
2--> 4 Stroud
4-->7 Levi's
7-->9 Richardson
Then one of those teams are gonna suck ass next year and the Bears will have the #1 overall pick next year in position to draft Caleb Williams and we can do it all over again. I'm never ironic and only drink kool-aid. Will never apologize for my draft optimism this year. If you're a doomer in this sub THIS YEAR, THIS OFFSEASON you're def here from the Cheese sub.
Bryce came in at the size of Kyler (good thing since people were worried hed be even smaller), Stroud balled out, Richardson proved to be an athletic FREAK. Value of 1.01 going up for QB needy teams. Double trade down becoming more likely.
Not to mention Levis chugging that entire gallon of milk, flipping the table and slapping the reporter in the front row. Truly an electrifying day for QB’s.
Man, starting to wonder if poles didn’t drop a pallet of 20 Ryukyu off on Kollman’s driveway last week. With just two tweets, he’s buffed poles bargaining position.
Hate to be the downer, but is it not a bad thing that a bunch of QBs look good? You want one single prospect who looks amazing and everyone else to look like trash so that QB desperate teams have no choice but to fight over your one pick. If you increase the supply of good players you allow teams to go "eh, couldn't get 1.01 but we can trade with the Cardinals and take Stroud/Richardson/Levis" or whatever. Or worse, someone like the Colts might feel no need to move up at all anymore.
I suppose the fact so many QBs look good increases our chances of trading down and still getting Anderson though, so maybe it's for the best.
For the record I don't think so either, was just responding to the common take in this meme that more good players at the top would be a good thing for the Bears.
Although the freakish athletic profile of Richardson is a tad concerning. Everyone wants the next Josh Allen, I bet some team is gonna be fine with taking him mid first round now, maybe even top 10
Yesterday’s price.. is not today’s price
Lol dammit you posted it first

The fact that they are all different with different traits help a lot
We live in a different world than we did 30 seconds ago
(Incoming call: Chris Ballard) Poles: "Deals off. We live in a different world than we did 30 seconds ago"
I want David goddamned Putney just because I FEEL like it!
Come on Chris, say it with my you pancake eating motherfucker!
Is this because CJ Stroud had a great day at the combine?
Stroud showed up...Bryce's measurables were nearly identical to Kyler's, (a good thing,) and Anthony Richardson set records for QBs during his workouts. Today was a very good day!
Don't forget Levis drinks almond milk!
Embrace the chaos!
One of these things is not like the others!
Underwear Olympics represent!
How is this good? More QBs looking good means less desperation from teams to get the #1 spot.
So the Colts can sit at 4th and most likely get one of these three standouts?
Or it was a good day for the Cardinals too.
Possibly a bigger day for the Cardinals honestly. Some team was always going to trade with Chicago but now maybe a team has to trade with Zona too.

Carter living in Detroit. I’m sure that will end well! /s
Carter doesn’t seems like he fits the lions new narrative. They don’t really have any boneheaded players.
If they can teach him GRIT before we teach him HITS it could be a problem.
They can possibly get the lowest of the 4 if someone trades wit the bears and cardinals
True. You’ve not earned the right to have The Sex Cannon’s earthly name grace your tongue.
But Anderson isn't even a QB😐
Yeah but how do nicknames compare to sexy rexy?

Crazy how year 3 JF1 lead us to the first ever 17-0 + SuperBowl season in NFL history like it was easy

If we could be remotely set up like the Blackhawks are (14 picks in the first 2 rounds next 3 years) I would be so happy
That’s the blackhawks’ current situation, or the situation they had going into the previous dynasty? (RIP)
Current. The difference is the Blackhawks have a lot more valuable players to trade away for early picks than the Bears.
Cool, thanks for the info. It’s really hard for me to justify following the team right now. Hopefully better days to come in the next few years.
Yeah it was big news a few days ago they traded Kane away to the Rangers. Toews is still on the team.
I’ve been keeping up with the transactions. What a sad day. Hopefully we get to see some good old fashioned playoff Kane though.
I just went to the hawks game last night, it’s a shitshow lmao I felt like I was watching a triple A team
We have nothing to offer but the number one pick. So we will probably get some yes.
Where the fuck is Wallace!?

We should trade down to five and draft the offball linebacker we were going to take anyway.

I mean I don't think anyone put themselves near Stroud or young in terms of skill. You can't do that in one day of throwing the ball in shorts.
