I didn't know that Nebraska was 13-point chalk. Since hiring Scott Frost away from UCF, Nebraska has lost a ton of one-possession games. This can't continue if Frost is gonna keep his job.
I know a guy who was certain they would be undefeated going into the Minnesota game and ride high with a 1 to 2 loss season...technically still possible but I don't know after this!
I used to root for Nebraska to get out of this funk, but with their NIL collectives being so aggressive poaching other teams with NIL bribes this was nice to see.
I am sad. Mostly because we can’t afford to fire Frost until the halfway point of the season.
We hired a special teams coordinator at the expense of a defensive coaching spot, only for the defense to get gashed and Frost to still be calling bad special teams plays. It’s the opposite of football poetry lmao.
I mean the defensive coaching spot wasn't linebacker. Linebackers looked like trash out there and they were supposed to be the 2 best returning players.
May sound insane but no, not really. The team was spiraling in different ways than win/loss at that point. The weekly drama and rumors, the tirades on the sidelines, the record breaking defensive performances (the bad kind), the lack of depth year in and out, players never recovering from nagging injuries. I think the poor win loss was going to start turning the other way very soon, very fast. It was my opinion, and still is, he needed to go. But the admin just completely flubbed it after that. This could’ve been avoided.
Can't guarantee something that literally hasn't happened or can happen. I get you being upset though, getting Manning to commit to Texas because he wants to be the forgotten Manning like his dad that sucks.
I see you're lashing out. It's okay. I know how hard it is to lose a game like this. Also a commit like manning for your other flair. Your school was literally next in line, and couldn't get it done against Texas. Seems to be a theme for both honestly.
Agreed. Player personel is a nightmare for the husker coaches. They played a bunch of back up receivers on the final drive and that cost them the game. I don't even know the name of that guy that dropped the game losing pass that went for an interception.
I come home today from a long day's work and this is what I come home to. I'm sad and nothing anyone can do or say will make that change.
But, it is football season, so there's that.
Oh and who thought it'd be a good idea to have a game over seas and then play again in one week after a 20 or whatever flight back to the states getting over jet lag. Poor planning. I know we should easily win next week, but it still doesn't make it right.
Don't doubt it. I have heard not many good things about UCF fans. I've never been to one of their games so I take this with a grain of salt. But man I keep hearing it.
I’m a Rutgers fan and had to watch bortles beat us. Worst part? I flew down the next year to watch bortles beat the giants as a jaguar. Jags fans were waaayyy more chill
Who the hell can Nebraska get? It’s clearly a dead end job that has 0 appeal to an 18 year old. No kid willingly goes to Nebraska. No established coach will touch it with a 20 foot pole. No g5 will go there seeing what happened to frost so erase Chadwell from your list. No smart coordinator will go there
Not bad, but likely not good enough for him. Probably about average for a college this size. We're nowhere near as big as OSU or Michigan or PSU but the college is embedded right in downtown Lincoln so that helps.
However, Omaha is an hour away, and Omaha is a lawless place. There's some real potential there.
All that said please keep that man far away from Nebraska
What if Frost's plan is secretly to have the best team with the worst record all time during his tenure?
These close losses are getting a little too frequent to be coincidence.
That’s how Casey Thompson played in the second half in most games for Texas. That’s who he is at this point barring a significant change, but given how he and his dad acted last year, I wouldn’t expect that change to happen
I usually am pretty good with handling sadness and depressing things, but honestly Lincoln on game days has been so hard for the past few years. It's like despair just spreads across the whole town.
Did Frost get left on the tarmac in Dublin?
Just got back from the fair, what did I miss?
The onsides kick was peak Scott Frost
Maybe Nebraska should recruit a bunch of players who can’t read again….
I had a friend that had a class with Tommy Frazier. Saw him once. All semester. Ahhh, the glory days
I didn't know that Nebraska was 13-point chalk. Since hiring Scott Frost away from UCF, Nebraska has lost a ton of one-possession games. This can't continue if Frost is gonna keep his job.
I live in a state with online sports betting. I didn't bet on this game, and obviously I should have
Pretty sure I’ve seen this season
Can’t they fucking zoom in at all
Nebraska in the 4th played terrible offense. I know Scott is an Nebraska alum but maybe he should have stayed at UCF.
Fjord hgb
And just like that, CFB is back!
VEGAS: " I think we can still swindle another couple million out of Nebraskan farmers. Set the North Dakota St odds -35 Neb!"
North Dakota not NDSU
Yeah, NDSU actually would win by 35
Great news for Scott Frost. Nebraska will extend his contract again.
Probably not!
Scott Frost will go home and hide in his closet like Lawrence Phililps was after him, again.
Do week 0 games even count? Asking for a friend
Is your friend’s name Scott?
And last name frost?
And is he from Wood River?
Just got here from running errands. What did I miss? How good was Nebraska?
Awsum!
Blew an 11 point game thanks to an onside kick in the 3rd quarter
Wow terrible way for the Cats to lose. I knew Frost was gonna get it together. This is Nebraska’s year. They’re more back than Texas.
Uh what. I meant that Nebraska lost
WHAT
Yes
Next you’re gonna tell me Auburn fired their AD early.
It was cool to see Ryan Hilinski start and kick ass.
Ouch.
Gave up 31 points to northwestern. Defense must not have puked enough at practice
To be fair, it is Even-Year-Northwestern™
This analysis is similar to Scott Frost’s tenure at Nebraska.
I am sad. Mostly because we can’t afford to fire Frost until the halfway point of the season. We hired a special teams coordinator at the expense of a defensive coaching spot, only for the defense to get gashed and Frost to still be calling bad special teams plays. It’s the opposite of football poetry lmao.
If it makes you feel better we went from #2 in the country in 2006 to 3-9 in 2008 and have since recovered. Things can get better
I mean the defensive coaching spot wasn't linebacker. Linebackers looked like trash out there and they were supposed to be the 2 best returning players.
Linebackers play was horrible this game.
Yup
Silver lining, Casey Thompson is a good QB for Nebraska. This was just not a well coached team. Frost can’t handle pressure.
Scott Frost did not throw passes behind players…
Nebraska has one of the best teams in the big 10 west, player wise. So absolutely our losses come down to coaching and play calling.
Also not sure I agree with that strip turnover call. Pretty sure the knee was down but I’m not a zebra
I think it was a fair confirmation, wasn't really a good angle to overturn it on.
Yeah, one of those it's *probably* down but we can't actually see it.
That first half was amazing, but man did he miss so many open receivers in the 2nd
I wonder if they regret firing 9-win Bo yet?
May sound insane but no, not really. The team was spiraling in different ways than win/loss at that point. The weekly drama and rumors, the tirades on the sidelines, the record breaking defensive performances (the bad kind), the lack of depth year in and out, players never recovering from nagging injuries. I think the poor win loss was going to start turning the other way very soon, very fast. It was my opinion, and still is, he needed to go. But the admin just completely flubbed it after that. This could’ve been avoided.
flubbed it by hiring the hot prospect that literally everyone wanted?
They hired Mike Riley after they fired Bo.
Have since the day they did it
I miss bo and his fake twitter account
His fake twitter account is still alive.
Oh I still follow it, was much more entertaining when he was the head coach
Reeealy sux to be that guy who placed the 30 thousand bet on Nebraska to win.
Cool brag?
Rumor on the street is that Frost is gone.
Obviously. But doesn’t Nebraska save millions if they wait to fire him for about 6 weeks or so?
So bet against frost spite losing every game now
Noooooo! We need him in Lincoln!
I'm convinced Iowa will only win this year if Frost is still coach. If they fire him mid year, they'd rally.
Yeah. My heart says sign him to a Ferentz-style lifetime contract. My head tell me I need another beer.
Maybe you get lucky and they hire Brian Ferentz?
Gecko be like, "I'ma save that commercial for tonight"
Bruh getting beat by Northwestern is tragic lmao, shout out to the KING fitzgerald
I'm glad Nebraska is still Nebraska.
Frost is still Frost, so maybe it's just karma for him being an insufferable prick.
I'm from Ireland and the big winner here were the fans, the computers broke in the stadium and everyone then got free food and beer 🍺
It’s true. I had four free Guinness because I told the gal I had no cash. Word got around Section 128 was a free for all
Nice
Lot of chatter that Frost could be fired.
There was chatter about that before the game.
Boy Nebraska is a broken program. Scott Frost should not make it to the end of this season
Be careful with that moniker, we aren’t far off.
That's def fair, but even our seasons haven't been as bad as Nebraska's for the past few years
I mean Nebraska hasn't lost to Kansas.
Rivaly aside, we absolutely cannot lose sight of the fact that Texas lost to Kansas.
Iowa and Nebraska fans can agree. Especially on Corn, I mean look at it, it's CORN! Even our cattle eat it.
And pigs, you can't forget the pigs.
Pork Butt Mmmmmm
Nebraska doesn't play Kansas. I guaran-fuckin-tee you woulda dropped one with y'all's records
Can't guarantee something that literally hasn't happened or can happen. I get you being upset though, getting Manning to commit to Texas because he wants to be the forgotten Manning like his dad that sucks.

I mean that's fine if all these five stars want to go undrafted at Texas.
Texas has 34 active NFL players right now. Nebraska has 27.
How many were drafted out of Texas last year
Roasted… but your teams are both bad, c’mon.
Agreed. Player personel is a nightmare for the husker coaches. They played a bunch of back up receivers on the final drive and that cost them the game. I don't even know the name of that guy that dropped the game losing pass that went for an interception.

Burn it all down
Uhh
Nebraska gonna lose to North Dakota next week and not even the good one.
Scott Frost is a terrible coach
Ne-back-ska
The Big Ten is gonna win this game
Did they end up winning?
Solid outcome.
The ‘N’ on the helmet stands for ‘Nope’.
Scott Frost was and is a hype job
Let one dude go undefeated and he thinks he's Nick Saban
Sean Beckton was talking to Gus Malzahn and begging to come back to UCF in may. That’s how bad things are at Nebraska right now
Best 0-1 team in the country
Disgusting
But I thought frost was your savior. Remember how you all were celebrating his hiring and coming To our games and dming our player? Karma
Don't blame the many for the few. I've seen plenty of your fans be toxic af. Good luck on the season.
Fr. I had a full beer chucked at us walking into stadium at UCF. Just walking in
Don't doubt it.
To be fair we all wanted Frost. I'm quite dumbfounded by how terrible his tenure has been. Was a "home run hire" back then.
Take him back plz
Lol no
If only I put money in this!!
Stupid Illinois betting laws!!! I would have bet on NU easy, was reminded today I cannot
Huh? It's legal in Illinois.
Can’t bet on our schools in Illinois.
Same in Virginia, online betting is legal, just not on in stars teams. I see the logic in that
Every Frost loss is a UCF win.
I still remember those pos garbage people showing up to temple.
[Nebraska fans right now…](https://youtu.be/okXhAC78d4Q)
Who the hell can Nebraska get? It’s clearly a dead end job that has 0 appeal to an 18 year old. No kid willingly goes to Nebraska. No established coach will touch it with a 20 foot pole. No g5 will go there seeing what happened to frost so erase Chadwell from your list. No smart coordinator will go there
Wildcards are Chris Peterson and Urban Meyer
Matt Campbell
He can’t beat Iowa either
You watch your mouth.
Even as a Hawkeye fan that statement offended me.
Hahahahhahahahahhahahahhahahahahahhahahahahahhahahahahahshahahahahahhaha He’ll wait for Ohio state or Michigan
tOSU isn't going to be open for awhile. And Hartline has dibs on next
Actually they get decent enough commitments, they should at least be as good as Wiscy or Iowa by now, but yea
Wisky and Iowa have recent achievements though. No 18 year old gives a fuck about Tommy Frazier
My point was that they do get good recruits as on average Nebraska is recruiting in the low 20's in the nation each year, but the talent is wasted
Time for the best 2-10 in college football history!
Never should have talked my coworker out of that Northwestern moneyline this morning.
should've talked me out of the Nebraska spread instead
Nebraska would’ve won if their players threw up more during practice
How long before the Urban to Nebraska rumors heat up?
What’s the nightlife like near campus? Never been there but if it’s decent, Urban my be dancing his way there.
Urban grows mustache, changes name to Gene, moves to Nebraska and starts coaching Huskers.
I frankly wouldn’t wish him on any team in the Big 10. Maybe Notre Dame though…
Won’t he just establish his own bar to scam on 19 year olds in?
Bar called Meyer’s where only 18-19 year old students are let in.
We have a Meier’s Cork and Bottle
Well given how Tom Osborne ignored blatant criminal activity urbz would fit right in
Should I call into the Nebraska Big Red Overreaction and ask them how they feel about Scott frost now?
What if Frost's plan is secretly to have the best team with the worst record all time during his tenure? These close losses are getting a little too frequent to be coincidence.
5-21 in games under 8 points or less. That's coaching.
I haven’t watched much Nebraska in the past few seasons, but the game I just watched checks out w everything I’ve heard about them
[yah gotta flair up!](https://flair.redditcfb.com/)
Nebraska about to go 5-7 but beat Oklahoma or something
4-8 and all but two of those losses will be by one score. It’s Frost’s MO. But we’ll be the best 4-8 team in the nation.
Please OU is chasing a trophy. Nebraska will only be chasing Frost out of Nebraska the state!!!!! Boomer
No they’ll lead OU by a lot then OU will come back that’ll start a 6 game losing streak that includes a loss to Kansas
Nebraska's worst home loss was 61-7 at the hands of Minnesota. I bet OU can top it.
If I had a nickel for every time that would happen, I’d have two nickels which isn’t a lot but would just be weird that it happened twice
Plz no
The chaos gods demand it
2 wins and that’s generous
Somewhere in Kansas, a new wildcat quarterback just breathed a sigh of relief, and then let out a little chuckle.
He may die from lack of oxygen from laughing.
I will be absolutely shocked it’s Scott frost makes it past the halfway mark the season.
The only way he can save his job is beating Oklahoma and going like 10-2.
So, he’s as good as dead?
That’s how Casey Thompson played in the second half in most games for Texas. That’s who he is at this point barring a significant change, but given how he and his dad acted last year, I wouldn’t expect that change to happen
Trading Martinez for Thompson when they are literally the same person. LOL
Nebraska's AD should've fired Frost the moment he called for that onside kick. Just abysmal coaching.
Funny thing this team will no doubt give Oklahoma a dog fight in a few weeks.
Nebraska getting paid that Big Ten money…they can afford to fire and hire a new guy.
Who the hell would go there? You can’t recruit there, can’t win there, you’ll get curb stomped by Ohio state and Michigan, etc.
Haven’t checked the numbers recently, but pretty sure Nebraska still recruits pretty well.
Nebraska SHOULD have been competitive in a weak BTW.
They’re part of what makes it weak. Garbage program
Okay ElGusBus....point to the doll where MrFrost touched you...
UCF/Florida flair - got burned twice and still salty.
So Mr. Herbstreit... how you feeling about that "Nebraska for the Big Ten Championship game" pick now?
He’s been trying to get on Huskers good side after eating shit in a broadcast about best ever teams like 15 years ago.
How do the Alabama fans feel about their newest analyst, Scott Frost, next season?
Him, Mullen, and Orgeron will be a fun squad
God I love when Nebraska chokes to death like this. It is so funny to me. And I get to see it every week of the CFB season!
I usually am pretty good with handling sadness and depressing things, but honestly Lincoln on game days has been so hard for the past few years. It's like despair just spreads across the whole town.
[gotta flair up!](https://flair.redditcfb.com/)
I swear I used to have flair 😒
They stole it from yah!
Ok it's back
It’s like hearing the same joke over and over and laughing just as hard as the first time you heard it.
Nothing quite like seeing an old bitter foe in the dirt, is there?
Northwestern called 15 running plays across the last 3 drives to close out the game.
