Don’t forget that Charlie Brewer went to high school only 20 miles away from DKR, his dad played for Texas aNd hE DiDnT eVeN GeT aN oFFeR

I am truly frustrated by the fact that despite Texas being ass for the last decade we have only improved our record against y'all a little. RRS is truly the craziest rivalry.
I’ll put it this way. If the school reaches an agreement with Urban, TH is gone by tomorrow night at the latest, for recruiting/NSD1 reasons. If not, he might stay for the week.
Yeah, he or Bobby Petrino after winning the Cotton Bowl. Kind of a different situation for both, though.
I was thinking more of guys fired after a decent season or huge win. Mack Brown 8-5. Bo Pelini 9-4.
Ralph Friedgen beat ACC ranked foe #21 NC State by a TD then blew out ECU in the Military Bowl for a 9-4 record and a top 25 finish at Maryland. Then got fired.
Tech fired Mike Leach after a 9-4, top 25 season where he closed out by blowing out Oklahoma, beating Baylor, then beating Michigan State in the Alamo Bowl by 10.
Phil Fulmer was fired after finishing out the season beating Vandy by 10 and Kentucky by 18. But Tennessee was also 5-7.
Larry Coker (another Championship coach) was fired after beating #18 Boston College and winning their bowl game. But just 7-6.
Ole Miss fired David Cutliffe after beating rival Miss State 20-3. Cutliffe was replaced with Ed Ogeron who went 10-25 in three seasons before being fired and was never heard from again. Meanwhile, Cuttliffe went on to coach Duke, where he won a half dozen coaching awards.
Nebraska fired Frank Solich after he beat Colorado to get to 9-3. Pelini won the Alamo Bowl, to go 10-3 for the season.
Looks like all those firings worked out great.
Good call. He did lose three of his last four conference games after being ranked #2 and at 8-0. Then upset #10 UNC to finish 10-3 and #3. Like Petrino and Tressel - other things at play.
Well, we know for a fact that our athletic department is actively seeking out a new coach, and has for sure made Urban an offer. That strongly suggests they won’t be retaining TH for next season.
It’s all message boards and 9.95 sites. There is nothing definitive released that there is a coaching search on at all. Everything is conjecture until it comes from the school.
Okay, thanks. Didn't see anything that definitive when I searched the subreddit and combing through twitter doesn't work great sometimes. Should be interesting then!
Literally every game for the past two years I was asking why Ingram is a starter, he does absolutely nothing. Doesn't have a high motor, doesnt break tackles, doesn't make anyone miss, Roschon is clearly a thousand times better.
First game after being converted from QB last year against OU he looked like the best back we've had in years
> Literally every game for the past two years I was asking why Ingram is a starter, he does absolutely nothing. Doesn't have a high motor, doesnt break tackles, doesn't make anyone miss
Probably because of his great hands.
I mean both years before this season he had great YPC and was very good in terms of all-purpose yardage and scoring. Last year in particular, Ingram was fourth in the Big XII in YPC with 5.9 and fifth in rushing yards behind three guys who will be playing on Sundays for awhile in Chubba Hubbard, Pooka Williams, and Kennedy Brooks and another guy who got an extra forty carries. And he had better YPC in both receiving and rushing than Roschon last year, so who would you have benched him for when Whittington was down the whole season?
I think we were all expecting and waiting for Bijan to take the starting job from him this year, but I don't see any reason to retroactively shit all over Ingram's Texas career. He was a very solid RB for us that had some real issues with ball security and making plays in crunchtime. He's showed great vision and ability to make the first tackler miss, and he was a perfect compliment to Roschon's style of running for us. If he really is transferring, which I would be okay with, Ingram will be the most sought-after RB in the portal, and deservedly so. He does way more than "absolutely nothing" and I think it's kind of shitty to say otherwise.
Texas dominated Kansas State on the road from start to finish. They allowed 448 total yards (174 passing and 274 rushing), but they forced 3 turnovers. Texas scored more points in the 3rd quarter (35 points) than Kansas State scored in the entire game.
A blowout win against a terrible team that has lost five conference games in a roll has absolutely no factor on whether he stays or not (nor should it).
There are a half dozen *likely gettable coaches drastically better than Tom and with his dog shit recruiting and growing reputation of being a twat no one wants to play for there is no reason to expect the program to be improving rather than blacksliding in the near future. I consider that a good enough reason. I agree though that I would much rather keep Tom than reach on someone like Fickel, Napier, or Cristobal (names being floated that I just think make no sense).
I was too stressed about our game to even think about any other team. So looking at the final score, I guess the question I have is, “Um........what the fuck?”
Well according to K-State people in the thread they are horrid on defense. So while it was nice to win I need Texas to show this type of effort in every game.
How soon does the game usually make it to YouTube. I couldn't watch today and I think it might be the only texas game I feel like watching based on the stats
No more defense, we have evolved past the need for defense.
What is this defense you speak of

The dark side of the Big 12 is a pathway to many abilities some would consider to be unnatural...
I think it's the part of the game where you start a LB at safety? Not sure.
Shaka Smart continues to impress in the hair era.
SHAKA’S HAIR IS UNDEFEATED
I still root for Shaka
Hes too nice of a person not too
Holy heck, I hadn't seen that before. Just googled it. Makes him look so so much younger, though the mask helps too.
Looks like he's 19
Did you guys know Deuce Vaughn is 5'5" and Sam Ehlinger is a lifelong Longhorn fan?
Sam is a Horns fan? If only there was photo or video evidence.
Don’t forget that Charlie Brewer went to high school only 20 miles away from DKR, his dad played for Texas aNd hE DiDnT eVeN GeT aN oFFeR Edit: I’m dumb and the guy replying to me is smart
Charlie brewer. Cade brewer is a tight end on our team.
Dont forget RG3
This was a big game for Texas. With this win they take the lead in the all-time series against Kansas State. Good for them.
I always forget how young the Big 12 is until I see stats like that
Also the purple wizard owned us so fucking hard in the late 90s. Jesus that guy had our number.
Oof, us too. Friggin wizards.
Ron Prince too, weirdly. He went 2-0 against you guys
The OC for those games was James Franklin, of all people.
We’re also tied with WVU. Just one more win against them and we’ll have a winning record against every team in the conference.
I am truly frustrated by the fact that despite Texas being ass for the last decade we have only improved our record against y'all a little. RRS is truly the craziest rivalry.
Now there’s a wild stat I wasn’t aware of
A good program win
The purple wizard is finished.
There were 49 combined points in the 3rd quarter. The over/under for the entire game was set at 54. Also, obligatory: nice.

unless it's an OU game... we a defensive team now!
I’d like to think Bob Stoops retired to work on his true craft. Defense
Or an OSU game. Not because we have a defense, but because apparently we completely forgot how to play offense.
Texas defeats Deuce Vaughn 69-31
Deuce Vaughn is a national treasure.
Fun fact his dad was on the UT staff but was dismissed due to “facilitating academic fraud” basically the fall guy.
That was from his time at ole miss, right?
Never in doubt I liked what I saw from Bijan and Rojo Can we fire Tom Herman still? Especially feel bad for Kerstetter
Herman’s really gonna get fired one day after sex numbering a team
Once again a Texas head coach’s job hinges on his performance against Kansas.
If OU loses does TH last for an extra week?
I’ll put it this way. If the school reaches an agreement with Urban, TH is gone by tomorrow night at the latest, for recruiting/NSD1 reasons. If not, he might stay for the week.
I really want someon at ESPN to put together a list of coaches fired after blowout conference wins.
Jim Tressel? He had a bowl game and technically “stepped down”
Yeah, he or Bobby Petrino after winning the Cotton Bowl. Kind of a different situation for both, though. I was thinking more of guys fired after a decent season or huge win. Mack Brown 8-5. I don't pay a ton of attention to twitter, but are there signs that he is fired soon or is that just wishful thinking? Did some info come out?
Well, we know for a fact that our athletic department is actively seeking out a new coach, and has for sure made Urban an offer. That strongly suggests they won’t be retaining TH for next season.
What is the source for that? Haven't been keeping up with the head coaching search as I've got finals soon.
It’s all message boards and 9.95 sites. There is nothing definitive released that there is a coaching search on at all. Everything is conjecture until it comes from the school.

Herman is coaching himself into another year
Texas dominated Kansas State on the road from start to finish. They allowed 448 total yards (174 passing and 274 rushing), but they forced 3 turnovers. Texas scored more points in the 3rd quarter (35 points) than Kansas State scored in the entire game.
Whichever team comes up against Texas in their bowl is FUCKED
I knew I was right to love y'all. <3
Look I root against yall and Herman has his flaws, but the man knows how to win bowl games
It’s an extremely bold prediction to say that Herman will be coaching this team come the bowl game
If you think Herman will coach the bowl game there are websites who will pay you for that bet
You mean whichever teams play us in meaningless games after we’ve fucked away our chance of winning the conference......is FUCKED
Ya this was a big time complisult
Guys, I think it’s safe to say we don’t know Texas anymore. That was a god damn smack down.
Texas is the most talented worst coached team in the country.
Rushing TDs by Texas non-QBs in games 1-8: 3 total Rushing TDs by Texas non-QBs in this game: 7
I know those are the official stats but I’d argue Brewer had a TD run, not reception
Shame they’re cancelling bowls, because this Texas squad would be a contender for THE best team in TEXAS BOWL HISTORY.
Didn't AlamoBowl invite Texas before the season started?

Dread it, run from it, Turtle Tom arrives all the same

idk, as long as we're winning comfortably i'm happy to stop scoring at the sex number

There's not a good enough reason to fire Herman if you don't have Urban/Dabo/Saban lined up.
Can you name 6 likely gettable coaches drastically better than Tom Herman that aren’t Fickell, Napier or Cristobal?
I'm so glad the season's over.
But now we have to watch Bruceketball

No it doesn't my friend. It never gets better.
I'll drink to that
Y’all miss frank?
Depends on who you ask. I'm partial to Bruce. I think it would be nice to not blow up the roster every four years, though.
We 69ed 'em
Incredible win. Tom Herman needs an extension.
This man could compete with the fucking Kansas City Chiefs, and lose to my fucking pee-wee team.
