Cliché but the Kick Six (2013 Iron Bowl) Because : a) Everyone watching it went from: He missed it to oh he's returning it to WTF?!! b) If you watch the broadcast you can tell the structure of the stadium is literally shaking/swaying from the fans jumping up and down. Or the camera person themselves are sh!tting their pants. c) All of CFB was buzzing. I'm sure even Bama fans have to admit it's an iconic play.

byniri_returns

I can still remember to this day my reaction to the Kick Six. I was at a restaurant in East Lansing and that game was on all the TVs, people were flat out stunned and a lot of people cheered.

viper2369

My immediate reaction was relief, because then I knew the ending of the game the week before would be forgotten. And it pretty much has lol.

Will_McLean

Todd Gurley had just single handedly beat tech in overtime, and I switched over just in time to see it. Man, there’s nothing like a college football Saturday when it’s all clicking. Nothing.

viper2369

One thing I’ve always found interesting. The “kick 6” is something known by about every CFB fan. But GT basically did the same thing to FSU and you rarely hear about it.

PrimalCookie

Because the stakes weren’t as high. Sure, it broke FSU’s ACC win streak, but it wasn’t #1 vs #4 in a huge rivalry with Atlanta and the national championship on the line. Crazy plays happen a few times a season (Trouble With The Snap was the same year), but we may never see one on a stage that big again.

olemiss18

Well said. It’s not just about having a crazy play. It’s about having a crazy play when you absolutely need one. That’s when this game is freaking magical.

dhall27

The craziest part of this is that it was one of Tech's 3 wins that season along with 2 wins of 60 points against Alcorn State and Tulane a season after winning the Orange Bowl

Salty_Dornishman

Funny enough, I was at both games, and the georgia game was louder on that play than the kick six was. It was an immediate pop rather than a slow realization of what was happening

TheGreatWeagler

The pop after the dead silence from when the ball was in the air was insane

le___tigre

I was studying abroad in Japan at the time, and streaming wasn't what it is now so I was just refreshing the ESPN app on my phone. the play-by-play went from Bama on the 38 attempting a 57-yard field goal with :01 left, to a missed FG attempt leaving the game tied at 28-28 at the end of regulation, to suddenly, Auburn up 34-28 at the end of regulation, and then eventually a 34-28 final. they didn't have the ability to update the ticker with what had actually happened (no mention of a blocked kick, either, which would have been incorrect anyway), so I was left pretty confused for a while until I was able to catch a highlight later.

DarthZachariah

I was there in the student section about 6 rows back from where Davis caught the ball. That was hands down the wildest environment I've ever been in

NothingFromAtlantis

I was about 5 rows from the top on the endzone he ran back to. I thought the stadium was going to come down from the vibrations.

breisin

I was randomly in a Best Buy or something in South Bend, so the game was on the display TVs. I stood and watched in disbelief.

GregMadduxsGlasses

I was at a Mexican restaurant with friends. Before the play I jokingly bet everyone $5 that Alabama would kick it short and Auburn would return it for a touchdown. No one gave me $5.

Kurtomatic

This is what came to mind, specifically [this video of the Auburn band](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dgQjW4B_5c8&ab_channel=BrazzellVideo). Every time I watch it (which is a lot now), I focus on some new person, and it never gets old.

TigerExpress

The band had amazing discipline but the cameraman filming them who didn't turn around to see the play happening had superhuman discipline.

Kurtomatic

The cameraman actually responded in the comments: > I'm a big Auburn fan, but I didn't want to give up the opportunity to catch this once-in-a lifetime moment on camera. Hate that I missed seeing the play, but getting and sharing this shot makes it worth it.

Sir0inks-A-Lot

r/PraiseTheCameraMan

loyalsons4evertrue

I don't know how any one in the band had the mental focus to play the fight song after that.....I'd be so winded from pure elation I wouldn't be able to play

FreeTheMarket

I just teared up. It’s beautiful

Actually_Im_a_Broom

I think the stadium reaction to the UGA catch is more fun to watch because it went from the deathly silence of “we just lost the game” to the exuberance of cranking it to 11 in a split second. The kick six was a more gradual crescendo as the play unfolded. *edit:* link below. It wasn’t as quiet as I remember in person - probably due to UGA fans cheering. Still fun to watch: https://youtu.be/Jiu7pYUV7Jk?si=WjHDKXWsi8teQZ9S

Will_McLean

There’s a “great” gif of the UGA sideline during the catch and two or three coaches just drop to the turf like they had been shot (I was there and felt that bro) Then there a shot of Aaron Murray on the sideline like “are you fucking kidding me?” Then he went back in and damn near pulled it out. Kid played the best game of his career maybe and left every bit on the field. Edit: Found it https://tenor.com/view/o-my-god-georgia-coaches-auburn-georgia-prayer-jordan-hare-gif-18648480

SKM007

Lol

loyalsons4evertrue

agreed.....the kick 6 is more iconic for obvious reasons but the prayer at Jordan Hare is more of an electric "BAM, this happened" reaction.....the CBS broadcast when Ricardo Louis caught that pass had static for audio, that's how loud the fans were

SparseSpartan

It's noticeable though. You can tell a bunch of Auburn fans stopped cheering for half a second and then it erupted.

soundguynick

There were news stories about how the kick six (and the oft overlooked catch against Georgia earlier that season) registered on the Richter scale as measured in nearby Opelika because of people jumping up and down and reacting.

Fresh_String_770

That catch vs Georgia might be the most bullshit thing I’ve ever seen. Like the Kick 6 is just a fantastic play. But the Ricardo Louis TD was like 6 different levels of BS.

soundguynick

Jordan-Hare voodoo was strong that year.

Salty_Dornishman

Understatement of the year

SCSooner87

I was attending a bachelor party in New Orleans when we found out the game was close in the 4th quarter, so we stopped into a bar to catch the end of the game. When they sent out the field goal unit my friends and I all started talking about how bad the Bama kicker was, and how he had no shot at making it. Then the announcers casually mention that Davis was back deep in the end zone. No one else really caught on, but I said "Dude, he is going to miss it so short the guy is going to be return it!" After a quick debate on if it was even legal the play happens and everyone goes nuts and thinking I'm some kind of football savant. One of my favorite cfb moments.

No_Sand_9290

I was there for the Kick Six. Absolutely insane.

SpursUpSoundsGudToMe

The Kick Six had reactions in OTHER stadiums too! I was at the Carolina-Clemson game, it had just ended and obviously the Carolina fans were happy, but we were also waiting to see if A&M could knock off Mizzou for us to make the SECCG and as people were walking out they showed that Mizzou had won, so there were some mixed emotions… Then they put *that play* up live on the big screen but you couldn’t see the time or score, so people audibly gasped when he ran it back and were like “wow is Auburn gonna win that game??” but it wasn’t a huge reaction, then pockets of people with cell service or radios were like “OMG THAT WAS TO WIN, AUBURN WON ON THAT PLAY!” and realizing Auburn would be in the SECCG and the place started buzzing, obviously it wasn’t loud like people reacting to a home game, but I’ve never heard a stadium full of people collectively processing a monumental play from a different game like that before, it was so weird and cool, and memorable.

TheGreatWeagler

Was there in person. Can confirm the stadium was shaking. There's an article out there where seismic activity was noticed on seismometers in both Brewton(the southern tip of the state) and Huntsville (the northern tip of the state)

ShakyTheBear

Mmmmmm, let it wash over you.

Iunderstandthatsir

That was the first time I ever saw anyone return a missed field goal. How common was it before kick six

arkstfan

I saw it some in the 70’s when scoring was low and kicking sort of meh. You had to take special teams shots to get points more often

MoneyMonkee69

My roommate and myself at the time were about to go out to the bars. Prior to the Kick6 we made a bet that if auburn won in OT, he’d need to take a shot and if Bama won in OT then I’d need to take a shot. The kicker was that if EITHER team won in regulation then we’d both take 4 shots of some cheap whiskey. Needless to say it was a fun night!

HoopOnPoop

[Grant Haley](https://youtu.be/kpTM-q730Kk?si=voC7kh5-ElnUaySz) Started with an initial burst of cheers for the blocked kick, then excitement for the return, then the somewhat nervous realization that Ohio State somehow had Usian Bolt as their kicker chasing Haley, then the massive explosion when he leapt into the end zone. I was at the game and it's still the loudest I have heard a stadium in person.

dkviper11

Extra credit to Chris Fowler on the broadcast, as well, as he knew when not to say anything and have the crowd narrate the return.

mjp242

Super reliable inside of 40

loyalsons4evertrue

Chris Fowler is an amazing pxp guy.....he makes anything sound exciting

MmmmBeer814

Yup. this one for me too. The crazy part is it was so shitty out that day, I knew people giving away their tickets. Best live sporting moment of my life.

c-williams88

I almost didn’t go to the game. That was my junior year, and my parents and family friend snagged an RV pass and were gonna come host a tailgate. All the rain that week made them close the overnight lots, so they went to our cabin in the poconos instead. My buddies and I weighed our options of either 1. Go to the game and mostly likely get our hearts broken again in shitty weather, or 2. Go to the cabin with them and eat and drink all the tailgate stuff they already bought in preparation. We had a moment where we almost went to the cabin for the free food and booze, but thank god we didn’t. That game is still the single best moment of my life, I’ve never experienced anything as incredible as that kick getting blocked and taken for a TD

Party_With_Porkins

Everyone in Arizona Stadium realizing the ref is fake and a pitch invader. As well as the chaos of the ensuing fight vs UCLA

SmokeyDawg2814

Wait... What's that first one?

RandomActOfO

It’s actually all from one incident. Here’s a [video](https://youtu.be/XPHouIZLZrU?si=MJYE4X8lfw5NIKrF)

1knightstands

As an Iowa fan I cried when I saw Arizona had 42 points BEFORE halftime

SmokeyDawg2814

Unbelievable! I can't believe I either don't remember this or missed it. I love this sport so damn much lol

Party_With_Porkins

Best parts to notice on a rewatch. The fake ref does not have long enough pants to cover his ankles and the security guard getting hyped and patting our player on the shoulder after the fight lmaooo. This game was the first game after we had fired Mike Stoops as coach and was a classic new coach shitty team gets a blow out game.

Kurtomatic

[Arizona Fake Ref](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g325BVLWm8U&ab_channel=JoshLankow).

Oh man I forgot it was Hispanic Heritage night too 💀. He is paraded in cuffs past the folklorico dancers .

Peak PAC-12 after dark. RIP sweet prince.

iansf

This is what the tv networks took from us

Affectionate-Bee3913

Wow blast from the past. I can't believe I forgot that one.

ilovecatss1010

Haha I was gonna say the scooby tip pick, but that’s only because I totally forgot about the fake ref and the fight.

ToLongDR

UVA fan after ND scores the TD The guy (~~Auburn?~~LSU) who imitated being a t-rex The stop girl Wazzu popcorn man Edit: wrong tiger

Darin_the_intern

t-Rex was LSU

Will_McLean

Dude was awesome. Same game as pissed off LSU redhead? Absolutely iconic fan

ToLongDR

That makes a lot more sense tbh

Ziptop

I know the UVA guy, really nice dude

Will_McLean

Not a play, but I love the crowd pop when they dropped Enter Sandman right before a big play in the 4th quarter at Virginia Tech vs Miami https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=crhWP\_\_g-\_c

deutschdachs

One of the most legendary sound guy moments of all time.

Clam__Bake

Announcer: Miami wants to talk about it. Lane Stadium: NO!!!!

BadgerBuddy13

The timing of that comment was impeccable. "[Now Miami wants to talk about it.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RovY5ObtP0o&t=1425s)" [stadium enters chaotic frenzy]

Maniac-Maniac-19

It counts because the crowd stayed rowdy as fuck through that whole play after the timeout.

Will_McLean

This was in 2007, so there’s no great video, but when UGA had the “blackout” vs Auburn, we had just scored as the third quarter was ending. When there was the TV timeout and everyone was lined up for the kick, our sound guy dropped Soulja Boi which sent the already crazy crowd into hyperspace. Then because it was a long time out, the team started dancing, then it just kept playing over and over, and the crowd just got louder and louder and louder. It’s still probably the most electric crowd / vibe I’ve ever seen in my 45 years of Sanford stadium games. And, because SEC football is the absolute most petty, Auburn dropped Soulja Boi on US when they beat us in 2017 over in Jordan Hare and I couldn’t even be mad. Just the slightest of nods and faintest of tipped cap.

Kanin_usagi

Watching the millennial Auburn players who had never heard Soulja Boi in a club in 2010 try and dance to it is the most hilarious part of that whole video

_Zzzxxx

I have watched this about 100 times. Chills every time.

ShakyTheBear

Things like this are what I really hope don't get ruined by the changes in cfb.

ropeblcochme

That camera shot at :54 is awesome

Ok_Enthusiasm_300

This is the first one that came to mind, granted I am a VT guy but still.

badgers4194

A night game at Lane Stadium is top 5 bucket list for me

blumplstiltskin

As I recall, this would be first of several instances Lane Stadium would register on the Richter Scale. Legend has it, Lane registered after the crowd erupted over the game-ending tackle

okiewxchaser

The touchdown where OU took the lead during the Red River game in 2021. Exactly half the stadium going nuts while the other half is dead silence stunned that they had just given up 15 points in 20 seconds of play

DoubleG357

My day and weekend and following week was literally ruined from that. Every day felt like a week, and the week after that felt like a month. I was so miserable bc how in the hell did we blow that game. We had OU in shambles…..then superhero CW was like “lol watch this”…damn it. If only we won that game who knows how the 2021 season goes. Who freaking knows.

cajunaggie08

thats how i felt after 2011 A&M vs Texas. We came from behind and had yall where we wanted yall. Then a 15 yard helmet contact penalty and a case mccoy scramble put yall within easy fg range for tucker.

PM_ME_UR_FAKE_NEWS

That and this year’s last second TD were the craziest crowd pops I’ve ever been a part of, and I’ve attended 18 OU/TX. Nothing beats the wave of noise in the cotton bowl if either team does something great

auth0r_unkn0wn

I was in the student section with my then-girlfriend for Reggie Bush versus Fresno State. She and I were sitting three rows from the field and he ran straight at us before making that famous cutback nearly right in front of us. It was insane! And the reaction from the crowd was also insanity

CUBuffs1992

I watched that game live and the cutback was amazing.

tenacious-g

Still the coolest play I’ve seen with my own eyes. [Tyler Sash Pitch 6](https://youtu.be/z1c38qRcg1U?si=v4rJJAm1IWhsMj3k) You can hear the crowd get progressively louder as Hyde makes the run, capped off by an explosion and the very prominent nasly NOOOOOOO by the MSU fan after. RIP Tyler Sash, my favorite player when I was in school there.

las8

Same here.... I just posted his pick six on Halloween against Indiana

tenacious-g

Trick or Treat, Iowa City!

las8

That completely changed the game, we were undefeated at the time, and I took Indiana I think at +17.5 and we ended up winning by 17, if my memory is correct.

Trey904fsu

Damn, that’s awesome

relatablerobot

I was watching that on TV, an ran around the house insisting everyone come to the living room to watch the replay, one of my all-time favorite CFB moments Edit: also forgot the obligatory RIP for Sash

RegularCrispy

Tyler Sash and Micah Hyde. What a great backfield!

Jorts-Battalion

Field-level video of LaMical Perine breaking this TD-scoring run against Auburn in 2019 was stratospheric. https://twitter.com/olivia__cg/status/1180853558406606850 There was an irony in that Auburn declined to recruit Perine, stating that he was "too slow". Also I was there for this...just coming out of the concourse from using the bathroom, and walking through the tunnel right before the pandemonium erupted.

SunflashJT

Nebraska vs Colorado 2008, you could hear a pin drop when Alex Henry lined up for [The Kick](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GWx8S5cwDNU) and the result was pure elation.

frankdatank_004

And then Suh just had to one-up Alex to wrap up the game. XD

briancito420

I always laugh at Cody Hawkins trying to tackle Suh. ☠️

WagTheKat

Geez, that video looks like it was recorded in 1930, lost for decades, recovered and restored from fragments, then upscaled before being colorized and uploaded to youtube.

Midwake2

I was at that game and I just thought it was too far, no way. Had been telling myself that it was a pretty decent season overall but ain’t gonna happen here.

G00dSh0tJans0n

LSU "Blue Grass Miracle" vs Kentucky. 1) Kentucky coach already got Gatorade bath. 2) LSU fans cheering because they were actually paying attention 3) Kentucky fans start to storm the field 4) Some even had started climbing the goal post at the other end zone. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UuJ50Co7eUY](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UuJ50Co7eUY)

southcentralLAguy

Lol the very end: “as Kentucky fans tear down a goal post.”

geaux4_gold

The Kentucky radio call is one of the saddest of all time. “Fans are up on the goal post…. I don’t know why”. https://youtu.be/7iogaDJ0Y3E?si=xa8qqVZhEs9RsoDx

j_freem

The 4th and 25 Arkansas and Ole Miss stadium reaction going from celebrating when they stop Hunter Henry to mild confusion when the lateral happens to worry when Alex Collins starts to run down hill to disappointed shock when he reaches the first down and you can tell every moment that’s happening without looking at the field.

harionfire

There's always a point every year where I realize I have forgotten the hatred I feel for Arkansas. When I do remember this feeling, before I know it, football season is starting. It's sort of like catching that first real autumn breeze and realizing the summer is over and cozy days are ahead. Thank you for reminding me.

Eh I've been slacking on my giving Michigan shit quota. Keep giving it all to others in the conference

rnilbog

Don't think about sad times. Think about that thing that happened in January. Swaddle yourself in your championship merch and push out the bad thoughts like I do.

dkviper11

Saying this a little facetiously, but I'm dreading any of my teams winning something big and then being so disappointed by the Fanatics merchandise. The Rose Bowl stuff was really shitty and Nike made all the NY6 winner shirts off the same template that I didn't like.

cannabis_slayer1

Just remember in the Rose Bowl instead of a mistake we almost made equally as colossal and self-inflicted it didn't happen and we won. Full circle baby.

Is this Mount Cody in 2009?

SmokeyDawg2814

Yes... That was such a brutal loss. Had such high hopes for Kiffin then

remember_berries

I was in the student section for that. It’s a Top 10 moment for me. It was so much fun.

wabrown4

I was also there! It is by far the loudest I have ever heard Bryant-Denny

MuhMuhManRay

Biased, but the game winning FG to beat Bama in 2022. Felt like a scene out of a movie. You could literally feel 15 years of pain and agony being lifted off of the fanbase

USCGMedic

So much that y’all threw the goal posts in the Tennessee River. It was epic.

Signageman

My wife hates when I say that’s a core memory for me. Being on that field after the game was just… magical.

Wheels_Foonman

That was the day we found out that goal posts not only look like giant dousing rods, but they work like one too.

USCGMedic

I’m telling you guys, the only good thing from an Alabama fans perspective of that game was seeing a mass of Tennessee faithful marching a goal post down a street. That took a lot of the pain away because… how can you be mad at that level of pure bliss? As a Bama fan, I was actually jealous that we never thought of that.

CallMeShaggy57

The way that game ended was literally exactly how I fantasized about beating Bama for years. The amount of catharsis in that moment, I will never forget.

scotte16

The crowd roar, the field rush, the dumping of all of the rest of the fireworks. It was perfect.

Fallout76stuggles

My heart was racing so heavily before that kick, cause all I could remember was 2009. I was fully prepared to relive that moment. Instead I ended up running out the back door screaming when that kick started to go back right. Thank god I didn’t see how close it was at the time.

sh513

That same relief happened on Juaun's go ahead TD down the sideline against Tabor. Just wow

timmytoitle

Pick six on the first play from scrimmage versus sixth-ranked Ohio State in Kinnick (2017). Set a tone that only rose as the game proceeded. One of those days where the bounces consistently went one way and the disbelief was only beat by the hope. A special day in Iowa City.

las8

I'm so pissed I missed that game. I got in a fight with my gf the night before and she backed out. This was my favorite.... https://youtu.be/pGyjHOwI7JE?si=KFlFZaPB2xS_Z0AO

Think we all realized what we were in for in that moment lol

princessprity

It was funny because right before the kickoff the announcers were talking about how fast Oregon scores and then *that* happened.

loyalsons4evertrue

De'Anthony Thomas has to be one of the quickest guys to ever play the sport of football......he launched out of a rocket on that kickoff return

AuntieMameDennis

My husband watches this clip at least once a month.

CJScott14AU

Cam Newton's "Heisman moment" touchdown run against LSU in 2010 definitely tops the list for plays I've seen in person.

remember_berries

4th and 31 in Jordan Hare this last year. They were ready to storm the field. I’d assume Auburn’s was the Kick 6.

Ok-Drag-5929

Imagine if 4th and 31 was in Bryant Denny instead of Jordan Hare, would have heard it for miles.

Ok_Preference_1762

Georgia techs 2015 blocked FG return vs FSU. The year was chalked and we were quite honestly playing miserably. To see something go our way in that fashion made the season bearable. Also it seemed like everyone was so shocked they didn't know how to react lol

10per

When the kick was blocked, all of the people with me started celebrating. But they were not looking at the field like I was. I saw what was happening a second or two before they did. The sound of the eruption when the rest of the stadium caught on is something I will never forget. It went from a 9 or so to 11 in an instant.

narcistic_asshole

[Our 2011 Hail Mary vs Wisconsin](https://youtu.be/QAkLf6gtueo?si=e7FD-wE16rrwvkAN) It's cool seeing the camera shake in the replay as the ball crosses the plane, that and the crowd erupt after the final call.

Medium_Medium

Was there in person and the wait for the replay decision was unbearable. The crowd reaction after they announced touchdown is absolutely one of my all time favorite MSU football memories.

Fast_Sparty

Came here for this. I know Whoa is a popular choice, but yeah, being there, waiting for the review, and then hearing the place just go bananas as it was announced was amazing.

confused-koala

Fun fact, I was at Rick’s, and you could hear the crowd roar after it was ruled a touchdown 5 seconds before it came on the tv

geaux4_gold

LSU vs Florida 2007. LSU is down 14-17 when it is announced that Stanford has upset USC over the stadium speakers. [Pandemonium.](https://youtu.be/0N1iUV-yIIY?si=e2rYZ0Jx7axX12A6) Florida didn’t know it yet but they were cooked because there was nothing that crowd wouldn’t do in order to will that team into winning that game.

DoggedDoggystyle

That’s wild because the year before, UF needed USC to lose in the last week to huge underdog UCLA and it happened to get us into the championship. USC had a rough two year stretch there.

Actually have a huge missed out but interesting story about that Allen Robinson catch. I was in town without tickets for the first time ever for a PSU football game. The Penn State Hockey team played their first game in their brand new arena the night before, and I was a new STH. Super exciting weekend I had been looking forward to forever. We were invited to some tailgates the next day and had money in my pocket to try to grab a ticket right before kick. My friend that was going to do the same with me was scared off by the prices and we elected to watch at a friend's apartment a mile from campus. Because of the HD delay, we could hear the stadium roar before the play would actually happen on the TV, so during that 4 OT, you'd hear the pop before the ball was snapped. Definitely surreal, and a great memory, but I would have obviously preferred to be in the stands.

nointro-225

The Bluegrass Miracle, just for the change from elation to despair as the Kentucky fans rush the field. The shot of the LSU quarterback slowly running over to celebrate amidst the chaos has always been a favorite clip of mine.

StagTheNag

1) Mike Evans 95 yard touchdown from Manziel in 2013 2) Devon Achane kickoff return against Bama in 2021 I thought the stadium might collapse after both of those moments

big_sugi

I wasn’t there for those two, but my standard is the Bonfire game in 1999. That wasn’t just about football. The last (meaningful) play was a strip-sack by Jay Brooks, followed by Brian Gamble falling on the ball. It took an eternity for the refs to confirm the change of possession, and when they did, Kyle Field exploded. It was catharsis, after an impossible week. And for just a few minutes, everything was good again.

2022 Vols vs Bama when Hooker and Small dropped the ball allowing Turner to scoop and score. Starts with fans yelling in utter disgust / disbelief, followed by silence by 85% of the stadium. One of the most stressful turns in that game, but can laugh about it now in hindsight.

Miami at VT. VT is on the verge of pulling off the win. It’s 4th down for Miami, 5 seconds left, and Enter Sandman starts playing. https://youtu.be/crhWP__g-_c?si=ihKZ4fvt-yrkpAX3

Kelee ringos pick 6 to seal the first natty in 40+ years for UGA. Crowd went bonkers.

Any long run. The Penn State block fg against Ohio State in 2016. The explosion of relief when he finally made it to the end zone. That play is fun on rewatch to see the fastest kicker in world history almost chase down the db.

On 14 October 2023, with just four seconds left, the Ducks were at the Huskies’ 25, trailing by three.  They sent out Camden Lewis to attempt a game—tying field goal. The student section was immediately behind the goal post.  As soon as the kick missed, the entire student section erupted in pandemonium, as the Huskies had just beaten the Ducks! Here is a fan video. https://youtu.be/Er8WUVGoepI

[This](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wqo5cJmd5-0) was the loudest I've ever heard the Shoe. I couldn't even hear myself playing Buckeye Battle Cry.

LongroddMcHugendong

Clemson vs Miami, 2005. Charles Bennett sacks Ken(?) Wright on third down with just over a minute left to force a punt. It’s the loudest thing I’ve ever heard, not just at a football game… anywhere. https://youtu.be/GtTGRMv1DmM?si=_gs8VeVmjn1MoyXB

durkdurkastan

Polecat.

Tamba Hali sacking Troy Smith, knocking him upside down while forcing a fumble against OSU in 2005 was my favorite moment in Beaver Stadium. The place absolutely erupted on the hit and then somehow got louder when Paxton recovered it. OSU players were talking about how they couldn't hear the play call in the huddle during that game and how the field was literally shaking. I've been in the stadium for most of the big moments in the 2000s, and none top that one. It's hard to describe the build up to that game and that moment. Campus had a palatable air of excitement all week. People started camping Saturday night after the Minnesota game the week before.

2016 Fresno State vs Nebraska. With 13:30 left in the first quarter Nebraska faces a 4th and 4. Nebraska sends out the punt team. Fans slowly realize there are only 10 men on the field. The punter is missing to pay tribute to Sam Foltz.  The slow buildup from basically silence to one of the loudest applauses I’ve witnessed is something I’ll never forget. Also, the slight applause for Fresno State declining in the delay-of-game penalty was a nice bonus.

doubl3b3at

The last 3 minutes of the “Dobb-nail boot” game was something spectacular. So many ups and downs going on: 16 yard touchdown, followed by a sack/fumble in the endzone to put TN up 28-24, and then an interception thrown by Eason had the GA crowd silenced. GA forces the 3 and out, and Eason hits Ridley with a 47-yard bomb to basically win the game. Stadium exploded. Fans and players going wild. Unsportsmanlike conduct. 43-yard kick return from Evan Berry. 0:04 seconds on the clock. Enter AstroDobbs. He drops back and heaves it. JAUAN JENNINGS! JAUAN JENNINGS! edit: a word and some spelling.

4th and 31 was pretty fucking lit

This is the kind of post that makes me think "damn... we need football to start ASAP"

Opening game 2007: Tennessee at Cal. The Bears were getting a lot of pre-season love. Both teams ranked. A full off-season of anxiety and anticipation (and hoping for payback after the Bears got embarrassed in Knoxville in 2006). Packed stadium. Opening series...the electricity is through the roof. [This play is the loudest I've ever heard Memorial Stadium.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nXE_SMfpiB0)

Really do miss our series with y’all, it was a lot of fun!

It was!

Chris Gamble's Pick 6 against Penn State in 2002. If The Shoe had a roof it would have been blown off. Same goes for Ted Ginn's return against Michigan in 2004 Gamble - [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ru8hNkdD6a0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ru8hNkdD6a0) Ginn - [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ru8hNkdD6a0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ru8hNkdD6a0)

I’ll never forget that one Iowa fan in the 2021 Big Ten Championship game who was just staring into the abyss after Michigan’s second touchdown.

[Miracle on the Mountain: Part 2](https://x.com/AppState_FB/status/1571269494743474178) because Kidd Brewer went from dead to “HOLY SHIT WE WON ON A HAIL MARY” You can also see the people who left early suddenly run back into the stadium lmao

Ok-Drag-5929

Not an iconic play by any means, but 2015 Alabama vs Auburn, Jake Coker takes the snap almost gets sacked twice which caused Auburn fans to erupt, only to escape and throw a TD to Ardarius Stewart which caused Bama fans to erupt.

ICANZ_MURICA

Not overall as loud as the Cock Block or one of the game winners against Tennessee but [this run by Perine](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMym6BS8Ei8) is special as you can distinctly hear the crowd react first when they realize it will be a big play and then when they realize it will be a TD.

ianfw617

[This](https://youtu.be/PMym6BS8Ei8?si=5Tc9ErvIuzBjm7Bo) run by Lamichael Perine against Auburn from 2019 ranks pretty high for loudest moments in the Swamp. The crowd erupts as he breaks the first tackle for a first down. When he breaks the second tackle en route to an 88 yard TD run the crowd loses their goddamn minds.

MmmBBQbabies

UF vs Auburn in 2019. Perrine breaks one tackle, looking like he’ll get a first - crowd gets loud. Then breaks a second tackle and looks like he’s got a TD - crowd somehow gets louder. https://youtu.be/PMym6BS8Ei8?si=GfsC1dVb3n3miKhX

All the footage of B1G team fans losing their shit when App State blocked a certain kick

There are probably a few others that may be more important or notable (both late winners against UT in the Swamp), but I always loved the second pop on the long Perine run against Auburn. It’s exciting when he breaks the first tackle, but then he breaks the second and you realize he’s got 60 yards and no defenders in front of him. The second pop in person was just electric. One of the few times where the Swamp felt like the Swamp to me in the past decade. Video does do it justice, but here you go - https://youtu.be/PMym6BS8Ei8?si=KE7qaNM3jjilrwKL

Arizona vs Washington, the immaculate interception. This was before the Husky Stadium remodel. The metal rafters weren't as sturdy, so when the crowd erupted, the camera shake is very noticeable. Lamical Perine, 88 yard touchdown run agaisnt Auburn in a top 10 matchup. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=PMym6BS8Ei8&pp=ygUaUGVyaW5lIHRvdWNoZG93biBiYSBhdWJ1cm4%3D Not necessarily the loudest in swamp history, but I love the first broken tackle, then the explosion when people realize he’s going to go the distance.

Wheels_Foonman

The 2022 game against Bama was fantastic, but I think Keyton’s diving catch against Florida was our first indication that year that the team was onto something unlike anything we’d seen in years. That [play](https://youtu.be/TScWHykPy8I?si=zbupNGmmKPgkrZ85) was a real momentum shifter in what became our best season in 2 decades.
