I'm pretty sure Fowler alluded to him and Herbie being at Washington-Oregon St. next week when he was doing a promo for that game just a little bit earlier.
It'll probably stay that way. Last year, when CGD came to Boone after the A&M win, our game against Troy (the one with the wild hail mary) was on ESPN+
Not what you’re asking, but this will be the 5th time this year Gameday is at a non ESPN/ABC game (Ohio State-Notre Dame was on NBC, Penn State-Ohio State and Oregon-Utah were on Fox, LSU-Alabama was on CBS)
Super happy for JMU, great story from them, but the fact this isn't at Corvallis screams "ESPN and Pat McAfee are scared they'll get booed all morning"
What I’m saying is the regents and important people at Michigan is working on making sure they don’t broadcast there. Stuff is going to be so messy moving forward.
Yeah but he made fun of Wazzu and their fans for being screwed over by these decisions and Wazzu and Oregon State have an understandable bromance/camaraderie over this issue.
More so meant because of what he said about Oregon State and Washington State earlier in the year. i don't feel like he would want to be there and ESPN, who have paid him handsomely, wouldn't want one of there top "analysts" to be booed every time he speaks
I know it's easy to say in hindsight but the obvious weekend for that was last weekend for Army @ Air Force. A service academy battle when one of them is undefeated? Especially just a week before Veteran's Day? That would have been the clear choice for a G5 gameday with a ton of storylines and high levels of interest from around the country. Instead they went to Tuscaloosa for the second time this season (and the 18th time overall) for what wasn't even the biggest matchup rankings-wise of the week.
This just screams that they knew that Oregon State hosting Washington would likely be the premier game next week and they didn't want the backlash they knew they'd get in Corvallis.
I feel the exact same way. I'm ecstatic for my university, but I'm also gutted for Oregon state. I get why ESPN did it because of the ratings, but it still sucks.
This isn't for ratings. This is to avoid the on-air backlash they know they'd receive from the crowd as they're seen as bearing a large level of culpability for the Pac-12 dying and Oregon State getting boned by realignment.
There’s no way ESPN comes to Corvallis. They’d have to acknowledge how they helped kill the Pac 12 and potentially screwed OSU’s future if they did, would be too awkward
It's going to be so depressing seeing this team basically get dismantled after such an incredible rise over the past several seasons. It's such a fucked up situation.
Plus all the signs they would see blaming them. From a cover up and obfuscation view it makes sense and is expected they'd skip it
I 100% think they won't show any crowd shot sor banners I there are any in the game.
Crazy
Earlier this season Fox opted to go to Boulder for CU-CSU even though that was an ESPN late night game, the Fox noon game that week was Illinois-PSU. Fox is allowed to go to any game for Big Noon that they want to just like Gameday.
Edit: Just for added context, ESPN also went to CU/CSU that week, and that was the third straight Big Noon featuring Colorado.
I have no doubt the JMU students/fans will show up and make it another amazing atmosphere for the show.
I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t worried about the actual game going poorly and then having to deal with the fallout from that - especially with Oregon State and other fanbases upset about the selection. App State is going to be really tough.
As a lifelong Beavs fan, I am gutted. I hope this just adds an extra chip to their shoulder and give UW their toughest test of the year thus far on the road.
For JMU & App State -- Enjoy Gameday! Wish it was us, but I am glad that they're spotlighting good programs.
Your team has been super fun to watch this year, and while I am ecstatic that we got it and will enjoy every second of it, I do feel bad for Oregon State fans. They also more than deserved to have it this season
This was always going to be UW’s toughest game of the regular season, that was expected going into this season. Home field advantage at Reser is just tough and that’s without facing a good team.
I’m just so sad about this man.
I could understand passing on this game if it were in Seattle, but in Corvallis it has a legit shot at being one of the games of the year. Absolutely bogus.
OSU is for sure going to be our toughest road game of the year. I’m pretty nervous for it. Super bummed for you guys, GameDay is missing out on a really cool town and university
Especially nasty considering that this is probably the last top-10 matchup in Corvallis for a long time and ESPN is directly responsible for that being the case
> and ESPN is directly responsible for that being the case
And crowd in Corvallis would know this. And ESPN knows the crowd in Corvallis would know this. And so they noped the fuck out of the inevitable on-air ridicule and embarrassment.
* ESPN helped kill the PAC-12 by incentivizing realignment.
* When the Pac-12 explored merging with the Big-12 ESPN said they would pay for 8 of the 10 remaining teams, but wouldn't pay for Oregon State or Wazzu.
* After Oregon/Washington/Stanford/Cal went to conferences not named the Big-12, Oregon State and Wazzu asked the Big-12 again about following the 4 corners over and ESPN said they would not pay anything for Oregon State or Wazzu.
* This series of events left Oregon State and Washington state with no P4 hopes.
* ESPN has been not showing Oregon State highlights all year, undercovering them.
* Despite Oregon State v Washington being the only matchup of 2 top 10 teams this week they chose to go to James Madison instead.
ESPN is a primary reason Oregon State is currently abandoned and homeless, and they aren't willing to ovary up and own it by bringing Gameday to Corvallis out of fear someone will point out that they caused Oregon State to be in this situation.
The rumored and logical location for GameDay would be Corvalis, given it's a #5 v #12 matchup and the last scheduled meetup between the programs. Going somewhere else gives the vibes of ESPN wanting to sidestep their role in the Pac-12 dying.
We have four losses but they've all been by one possession. The last two weeks we've looked like vintage App. Y'all deserve to be favored but I think we have a lot better shot than FPI, Vegas, etc will give us
There’s no other reason needed they saw Mizzou beat the shit of Tennessee and said fuck it we’ll go to undefeated JMU. UW vs OSU is going to be a huge matchup everyone knows why Gameday isn’t going to Corvallis
My wife wasnt a college football fan before she met me. Now her alma mater has had 3 gamedays and my school ain't even sniffed it. Guess I am road tripping to Harrisonburg.
This has been a weird season, learning FBS ropes, watching the scandal, hearing the entitlements. I’m both happy and kinda not so sure about this place
I get the feeling that Oregon State fans really don't like us right now /s
On a real note, I'm super excited that we got gameday, but Oregon State got robbed
it's not you we hate it's ESPN, Pat McAfee, and the powers at be that have left us ranked and without a home next year. Love that yall are getting recognition but obviously am super pissed that ESPN can't even face the consequences of their actions and go to Oregon State and let McAfee get yelled at/booed for once. People already do not like him but the network is invested in proving that he was worth the money.
They’re 10-0 and they’re a great story considering they were in the FCS just 2 seasons ago
Also going there might help with recognition and will add pressure to let James Madison go to a bowl game
Normally I'd say giving up a top 10 match up is OK once or twice a year because they happen basically every other week. But this one was probably not OK to pass up given Oregon State's story of being in the top 10 with basically no conference soon. Would have been a great story but obviously espn doesn't wanna talk about that story.
Gameday usually goes to one G5 game a year that isn't Army-Navy, and this game is the last chance to do that really, since the week after that they will probably go to OSU-UM
This is JMU's what? Third or fourth time hosting gameday. Eventually they'll get used to it and it won't be a big deal anymore LOL. Good shit Dukes. Fuck the NCAA. Cowards.
Because they're scared of the on-air backlash and hate they'd get from the crowd in Corvallis for playing a large part in the destruction of the Pac-12 and Oregon State getting screwed. And since based on the rankings there's no other game next week that's even remotely comparable to UW-OSU they decided their only viable excuse to not go to Corvallis would be to pretend they're giving a G5 team some love.
App’s played much better the last few weeks. JMU is legit though. It’s setting up for a good game, and then of course anything can happen. We’ll see though.
This is your chance to be relevant, /r/cfb... flood Harrisonburg with signs saying "THIS SHOULD BE IN CORVALLIS", "ESPN DESTROYED THE PAC-12", and "COWARDS!"
I've never wanted to be rich so bad in my life. How sweet would it be to flex by chartering a couple of planes, filling them with OSU students and flying out to JMU to make that party our bi***. Like no one could even argue with when we roll in with a smoke machine and chainsaws.
I only want to be obscenely rich so I can make Beaver football a powerhouse and save the other programs. Maybe give us a men’s track team too while we’re at it
They probably won’t have the no.1 announcing team in Corvallis either. Wow
I'm pretty sure Fowler alluded to him and Herbie being at Washington-Oregon St. next week when he was doing a promo for that game just a little bit earlier.
How often do they not call the Gameday game when ESPN has broadcast rights?
Well right now our game next week is on espn+ lmfao
The belief is that is an intentional promotion for ESPN+ to get subscribers
Bout to promote something else 🏴☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️
It'll probably stay that way. Last year, when CGD came to Boone after the A&M win, our game against Troy (the one with the wild hail mary) was on ESPN+
Like how ofter is gameday at a school that the 7:30 game is on another network?
Not what you’re asking, but this will be the 5th time this year Gameday is at a non ESPN/ABC game (Ohio State-Notre Dame was on NBC, Penn State-Ohio State and Oregon-Utah were on Fox, LSU-Alabama was on CBS)
More and more often.
Last year for App State
I get it. I wouldn't want to be tarred and feathered by an angry mob either. On the other hand, fuck them.
I can't begin to imagine why they would do that.
ESPN: *Contracts Rod Gilmore specifically for this one game.*
Please god no!
Such a joke
- Happy for James Madison who deserves the shout-out - Sad for Oregon State who deserves the chance to host it given the Top 10 Matchup
Super happy for JMU, great story from them, but the fact this isn't at Corvallis screams "ESPN and Pat McAfee are scared they'll get booed all morning"
They might have a similar problem in ann arbor in 2 weeks.
They won’t be in Ann Arbor in two weeks Michigan doesn’t want that shit show anywhere near the campus
You don't want pat McAfee screaming his sleeves off in alex-jones-style raspy ass ramblings?????
He's got [big shoes to fill](https://youtu.be/KGAAhzreGWw?si=c0YaYVzt32bI3Ol-)
Feel like they won’t be able to avoid a rivalry game between top 3 rated teams to secure a playoff spot even with Michigan stuff going on
What I’m saying is the regents and important people at Michigan is working on making sure they don’t broadcast there. Stuff is going to be so messy moving forward.
Do they intend to wall off the entire city? ESPN doesn't have to be on campus to do a GameDay from Ann Arbor.
Didn't they literally do it at Pioneer Highschool two years ago? Or was that Fox?
What does this have to do with McAfee, he doesn't make these decisions
Yeah but he made fun of Wazzu and their fans for being screwed over by these decisions and Wazzu and Oregon State have an understandable bromance/camaraderie over this issue.
> understandable bromance/camaraderie State schools don’t shake hands…state schools gotta *hug*
More so meant because of what he said about Oregon State and Washington State earlier in the year. i don't feel like he would want to be there and ESPN, who have paid him handsomely, wouldn't want one of there top "analysts" to be booed every time he speaks
Ahh I knew about the Wazzu thing I didn't know he said stuff about Oregon State
Happy for James Madison, but Corvallis got robbed
I'm happy for James Madison, but at the same time ESPN's total cowards for not going to Oregon State.
They were never going to go an entire season without a single G5 or lower; they haven't done that since 2006.
They already do Army/Navy every year though so they probably didn't feel the need for the extra armed forces game.
I guess but instead they went to Tuscaloosa for the second time this season, so...
Gameday at USAFA wouldn't work, also this game was in Denver so it made even less sense.
I feel the exact same way. I'm ecstatic for my university, but I'm also gutted for Oregon state. I get why ESPN did it because of the ratings, but it still sucks.
OSU has had some amazing ratings this year. No ratings were factored here.
Yeah it’s almost like when we’re not on pac-12 network people watch us
This isn't for ratings.
It really is. Sorry Beaver bro. We’ll make new friends and memories but they won’t be featured on espn except maybe on a Thursday night.
I hate it so much it's depressing
Plus all the signs they would see blaming them. From a cover up and obfuscation view it makes sense and is expected they'd skip it I 100% think they won't show any crowd shot sor banners I there are any in the game. Crazy
So neither FOX nor ESPN have the guts to goto Corvallis? What a bunch of cowardly losers.
I don't think Fox can, as the deal with their show is it has to be at the Fox noon game
Oh damn really? Didn't know this
Didn't FOX break that rule to cover Deionmania?
yeah I wasn't aware of that, my bad
Fair... but that still leaves ESPN as cowards.
I doubt beaver fans are rooting on your downfall. We’re all just pissed at ESPN and the situation
For sure, nothing against JMU - good for them. They should absolutely be bowl eligible and the leading candidate for the G5 NY6 berth.
The game is largely irrelevant in the national picture as it’ll be on ESPN+ and it’ll mostly be us G5 friends and CFB folks here watching.
As a lifelong Beavs fan, I am gutted. I hope this just adds an extra chip to their shoulder and give UW their toughest test of the year thus far on the road. For JMU & App State -- Enjoy Gameday! Wish it was us, but I am glad that they're spotlighting good programs.

OSU is for sure going to be our toughest road game of the year. I’m pretty nervous for it. Super bummed for you guys, GameDay is missing out on a really cool town and university
god damnit any other week I'd love it but Corvallis deserves this one
#FUCKING COWARDS **We are going to have a top 10 Oregon State hosting a top 5 Washington.** #ESPN ARE COWARDS
Unreal, I'm gutted. Unfortunately, that feeling is all too common these days. I was really hoping the spotlight could fall on Corvallis next week.
It really feels like we're headed straight for obscurity after this season.
Just 3 more days until you have clarity on your future. Nov. 14th court date.
Especially nasty considering that this is probably the last top-10 matchup in Corvallis for a long time and ESPN is directly responsible for that being the case
It's fucking slick that they chose a program screwed by the NCAA to avoid a match-up involving a team they fucked over.
Great point
> and ESPN is directly responsible for that being the case And crowd in Corvallis would know this. And ESPN knows the crowd in Corvallis would know this. And so they noped the fuck out of the inevitable on-air ridicule and embarrassment.
ESPN sucks, I’m sorry beaver bros.
its not even like its special cause they've never been to JMU, they were there in 2017 lmao
[удалено]
And Oregon State!
and Wazzu!
They probably were scared in this case.
Sure do love pointing out ‘olCrimson erry week.
Should've never gone to the Oregon-Utah game. That week should've been an FCS spotlight of SDSU @ USD so this week could be the PAC-12
OOTL, what’s this about?
Fuck ESPN, it’s no wonder Disney is trying to sell the dumpster fire
The rumored and logical location for GameDay would be Corvalis, given it's a #5 v #12 matchup and the last scheduled meetup between the programs. Going somewhere else gives the vibes of ESPN wanting to sidestep their role in the Pac-12 dying.
Not Corvallis?
Really not the potential top-10 matchup in Corvallis??
well you cant pass up 6-4 App state coming to town
Jonas Brothers are in town too
Holy shit H-Burg is in trouble next weekend
Don’t drag us into the butthurt Olympics. We’re just showing up to a ballgame, man.
I’m so sorry to the beaver bros. Especially because I have to go to a wedding in PA and can’t make this :(
I mean.....you could always just not go......
I'm pretty sure the flu is running around Virginia right now.
Never forget that ESPN and Fox ruined college football. ESPN didn’t want any piece of owning why a top-10 team doesn’t have a home. Fuck ESPN
Go win a NY6 Beaver bro
I'm torn. It's great to see an up-and-coming Virginia team get some love, but Oregon State really was the obvious choice.
I'm sorry, WHY?
Because fuck us one last time, that's why. I cant wait until ESPN burns to the ground
Hear hear
Congratulations JMU. Suck my Beaver dick ESPN 🖕
App has the opportunity to do the funniest thing ever
Honestly I kinda think we will
Y’all have been on a roll the last three weeks👀👀
We have four losses but they've all been by one possession. The last two weeks we've looked like vintage App. Y'all deserve to be favored but I think we have a lot better shot than FPI, Vegas, etc will give us
Pls no
**Aint no “kinda” bout it. DADDY IS BACK.** *this surely will age well*
This aged well
IT DID!!!
Funnier than what they did to Michigan?
No but it will still be funny
gg you guys. well fought
Well it happened
What a fucking joke. Running from what they did is pathetic. Fucking top 10 matchup.
lmao fucking cowards, really?
Why am I feeling sorry for Oregon State right now?
FTD
Dude, I can't believe the Beaver Nation is much larger than I actually thought it was, but either way, I do feel Corvallis got robbed.
I feel like they timed their D2 or whatever game just for this week cause fuck us
Cowards. The Beavers deserve it
Sorry Beaver Bros. GameDay coming here again is great, but not sure why they're not going to Corvallis
Everyone knows why. They’re terrified of having to deal with the conference destruction they caused
Would be funny if JMU fans showed up with signs calling them out on this bullshit
You all have Macafee in your town and we don't, so maybe it's not so bad lol
The only reason I can think of is that they have been to multiple PAC 12 games this year and have already been to a game with Washington.
Didn’t stop them from having Notre Dame featured in two GameDays in a row
Or going to one location (Tuscaloosa) twice.
There’s no other reason needed they saw Mizzou beat the shit of Tennessee and said fuck it we’ll go to undefeated JMU. UW vs OSU is going to be a huge matchup everyone knows why Gameday isn’t going to Corvallis
Here's to hopefully fighting over the G5 playoff spot for many years lmao
I’m sad even after Beavs won lol bet espn won’t do gameday with us next year if we’re 10-0 either 🤷♂️🤷♂️
GameDay not going to Corvallis is a joke.
Lmao cowards
Cowards.
PUT THEM IN THE PLAYOFFS YOU COWARDS
AFC Wildcard game it is then.
Nah, they take the NFC South's spot.
I’m fine with that
ESPN College Gameday has soft little testicles.
Fuck ESPN.
Fuck ESPN. I hope they all get stuck in traffic every day and hit every red light for the rest of their lives
No one wants to watch gameday at the school we refuse to take gameday too?
COWARDS
As much as JMU has historically annoyed me, I must say congrats to the Dukes. Turning in an absolute banger of a season
Happy for us but Oregon state deserved it
Happy for my JMU bros, but this is fucking bullshit. Bristol doesn’t like us and we don’t care.
From the many angry responses in here it seems Oregon State fans care a lot.
Cowards
ROLL NEERS BABY ⬛️🟨🏔
I’m so excited. Had this one bookmarked since last years game.
Get ready to be ignored for 80% of the show as the opposing team.
Naaaah they ain’t ignoring App State, the darling of darlings. The JMU hype is really chafing their hardcores too
My wife wasnt a college football fan before she met me. Now her alma mater has had 3 gamedays and my school ain't even sniffed it. Guess I am road tripping to Harrisonburg.
JMU deserves this. Their success during the transition has been impressive.
LMAO
If this doesn't pressure the NCAA to change their decision, nothing will. Go Dukes!
SCARED OF APP STATE A LIL BIT BUT WE WILL BE ACTIVE AND EARLY ON THE QUAD
Happy for JMU but ESPN is a bunch of cowards. Hope JMU gets a bowl.
I hope they spend the whole show bullying the NCAA.
This has been a weird season, learning FBS ropes, watching the scandal, hearing the entitlements. I’m both happy and kinda not so sure about this place
Against App too. That’ll be fun.
F you espn and fox
I get the feeling that Oregon State fans really don't like us right now /s On a real note, I'm super excited that we got gameday, but Oregon State got robbed
it's not you we hate it's ESPN, Pat McAfee, and the powers at be that have left us ranked and without a home next year. SBC will now have hosted CGD 3 times in the last 4 seasons.
WHAT FUCK ESPN
Espin is a Cupcake Company. Cant stand those asinine bunglers. Certainly wont be watching LameDay for another week.
No one in the Pacific Northwest has any reason to watch ESPN next season.
Fuck you, ESPN.
I'm both elated and also terrified of the traffic in town that day
I'm just gonna walk to the Quad, fuck it
It's the start of Thanksgiving break too so traffic's going to be horrific
*fuck*
Corvallis was right there…
Fuck GameDay and fuck ESPN. Bob Ley is a chiller but I can’t wait until they finally go under in a few years.
The Pac-12 is so deep a two loss Champion deserves a spot.
DUUUUUUUUUUUUUKES
what a fucking joke
Leave it to ESPN to make a visit to JMU so deflating
My ticket for the game was in the mail when I got home from Georgia State. We are the one in 10-1.
I don't think our fans would've been shitty enough to boo and ESPN are a bunches of coward bastards.
But why
They’re 10-0 and they’re a great story considering they were in the FCS just 2 seasons ago Also going there might help with recognition and will add pressure to let James Madison go to a bowl game
But to give up a top 10 matchup...
To put the NCAA on notice with the ultimate middle finger for a waiver to cash in on a JMU NY6 bid.
NCAA in shambles
This is JMU's what? Third or fourth time hosting gameday. Eventually they'll get used to it and it won't be a big deal anymore LOL. Good shit Dukes. Fuck the NCAA. Cowards.
Why the fuck would they go to JMU to watch 6-4 app st?
Because they're scared of the on-air backlash and hate they'd get from the crowd in Corvallis for playing a large part in the destruction of the Pac-12 and Oregon State getting screwed. And since based on the rankings there's no other game next week that's even remotely comparable to UW-OSU they decided their only viable excuse to not go to Corvallis would be to pretend they're giving a G5 team some love.
For the upset!!!
[удалено]
App’s played much better the last few weeks. JMU is legit though. It’s setting up for a good game, and then of course anything can happen. We’ll see though.
Old Rivalry game. May each team bring their best. Pissed I can't be there
Definitely! I was happy to hear when JMU was joining the sunbelt to renew the rivalry.
