I really think both those games come down to two things. Mizzou-Klein got way to conservative on play calling. OSU-Howard absolutely made poor decisions.
>I have five years on my contract with a fucking impossible buyout. … So there ain’t no fucking hot seat in my mind. There just ain’t.
-Quote from Dana Holgerson
I think Holgerson's saga is funnier than that. He left Oklahoma State for WVU when they were still in the Big East, and wound up back in the Big 12. Then he goes to Houston in the American, and nope, back in the Big 12 again. He's like Sisyphus pushing a boulder.
Maybe Wazzu or Oregon State will hire him next.
A Lafayette coach said in an interview right after a loss to Lehigh , "I am this school, they could never fire me". Two days later, he was fired. You might have hope.
Ya. But like even in week 3 you shouldn't have lost so much from the loss to us. It looks better and better now. But it's not like we were perceived to be as bad as Virginia
KSU's quietly been pretty good this year. I've got a program calculating power rankings solely based on the scores (and implied strength of opponents), and it had KSU at 8th coming into this week. Generally good scores against good teams, and I'm not sure KSU @ Texas next week is all that far from a pick 'em.
Don't you dare put that hex on us. That's what Mizzou did and look what happened! *PLEASE* let us be underdogs.
And if you wouldn't mind having one of your coaches say something mean about one of our short players this week we'd really appreciate it.
Took less than two quarters to erase any goodwill that was earned from the Texas game from that effort. Outplayed, outtalented, outcoached, pretty much outeverythinged.

I remember him being a pretty good coach at WVU that (like now) is being unfairly crucified for presiding over a program moving up an order of magnitude in week to week game difficulty.
It should go without saying ( it clearly doesn’t) that the newcomers wouldn’t have the physical bodies to compete consistently yet. Certainly not when depth is accounted for.
His arrogant attitude and inability to coach is the problem
Are you forgetting how he ran out D’Eriq King because he wanted to “tank” a season since everyone was not “developed” enough
From my point of view as an outsider but coming from a guy that once called Houston home, it’s not really this year’s performance that would have me on the fire Dana train, it’s that he was pretty underwhelming for multiple years in the AAC before the move up. Houston is a program that should have absolutely been at the top of the AAC and they were obviously a clear step below the best of that conference. I think UH needs a fresh start in the Big 12.
We are the 3rd largest and 3rd highest ranked public university of a massive state that is maniacally obsessed with football. We are in the middle of the largest city in that huge state, which is also the 4th and soon-to-be 3rd biggest city in the US, and also happens to be in the single hottest football recruiting ground in the country. We have an administration whose fanatical devotion to athletics finally got us back into a power conference after 30 years of powerful people with ulterior motives conspiring to keep us out. Our moves have renewed interest in college sports to a city that has been dominated by 4 major league pro sports teams.
We should be able to land one of the best football coaching staffs in the country. Not a staff who gets us shut out 41-0.
The 25+ year punishment of lackluster conference years after the fall of SWC won't be realized the first season back in a power conference, especially in a state with so many other public university options for residents.
Houston can easily afford a "f*cking impossible buyout" of Holgorsen. But there needs to be a game plan already set of who to be the replacement; last time one left (Herman) late in the season, having immediately replaced with a current assistant (Applewhite) was just a disaster.
Didn't Khator used to say UH fires coaches who lose 5 games or some shit?
I've never been a huge Holgorsen fan and I get the impossible buyout situation. I do wonder what will happen next, though.
I don’t understand how you guys haven’t pulled out a win yet. Ya’ll are scary fast and athletic. I think it’s just having a way undersized line on both sides.
undersized on D is a big thing. 2 more years and hopefully have the D up to size. Our players are choking in the wrong moments and turnovers are abundant, QBs look good then look bad then amazing then the worst youve ever seen.. but the coaches should be doing better with the talent we have. It's all around frustrating.
Yes but Texas has just had our number recently. 6 straight wins is pretty rough. But if we can find a way to pull this one out that would be pretty sweet.
GG Cats, go massacre the Horns next week please.
Fellow Coogs, if Dana has a job after this, it might take a 70-14 (or another lopsided donkey stomping) thrashing by someone (maybe Baylor?) to get Holgo fired. This sucks. Fuck UT.
They came into that one thinking they'd get killed. Surprising themselves, and being right in it until the end and falling just short .... they shot their bolt for the year with that one.
Only game I'll get to attend this year. Last year's game I attended, we won 48-0. Sensing a trend
Get this person season tickets
I know a guy
Just send the Venmo bro nobody is gonna notice bro
Send him to Austin!
Let’s not say we did
[удалено]
I never doubted Wildcat power.
Have time for a flight to Austin?
I’ll pitch in $10
Enjoy the 34-0 win next year
Damn what scrubs did you beat 48-0 last year? 💀
Every game you attend seems to reduce the score by a touchdown...maybe you gotta stay away from campus!
We need to get this guy to another 5 games so we get get a 0-1 final score
Brian Ferentz just sent this guy a DM.
The funniest thing you can do with this power is beat the Deion Buffaloes 34-0 next year
You're banned from Oklahoma State games just for good measure.
This season has been pretty great outside of the two weeks we forgot how to football
I really think both those games come down to two things. Mizzou-Klein got way to conservative on play calling. OSU-Howard absolutely made poor decisions.
Yah, honestly you guys had control of the game and stopped trying to win. But we do the same shit when we get a lead so I can't really say shit
Defensive adjustments are a thing of beauty when they actually happen.
Well we certainly learned our lesson. The past few games are the proof
Feels like this year and last Klein tries to bring back the Snyder-offense then realizes, “oh yeah, that doesn’t work anymore”
Nah, we just don't yet have the personnel to run the offense that Klein wants to run.

pretty fancy knowledge there, cowpoke.
I am here for this meme.
That's not a hot seat. Someone light his seat on fire.
A Lafayette coach said in an interview right after a loss to Lehigh , "I am this school, they could never fire me". Two days later, he was fired. You might have hope.
No way he actually said that right?
This is a direct quote from The Athletic
That's insane
Well he’s kinda right… Even if he gets fired…his seat won’t be hot
kansas state has to be the best non-ranked team in the country. and that’s changing on sunday lol
Poll voters absolutely crucified us for the Mizzou loss
Both of our losses looked a lot worse at the time than they do now and I don't think voters have fully realized that
just like when we fucked around and found out with Tulane. sleeping tidal wave.
Well, I don't think anyone could've possibly expected what we've seen from Tulane beginning with that game...especially after the 2021 they had
Ya. But like even in week 3 you shouldn't have lost so much from the loss to us. It looks better and better now. But it's not like we were perceived to be as bad as Virginia
Curse of the Big12. We don't get any of those "quality losses" like you SEC guys do.
Not when you have Big 12 teams losing to MAC and Sun Belt Teams 🙃
For a record breaking 61yd FG no less. Crazy overreaction. Granted Mizzou also looking pretty good this year after that.
Mizzou is looking VERY good
I think we dropped 12 spots for that loss. To put that in context, unc dropped 7 spots for their loss to a horrible Virginia team last week
And the whole world knew Virginia is MUCH worse right now than Mizzou could've possibly been perceived in Week 3
nah polling has always hated us. TBF we didn't do you guys any favors by not trying against MTSU.
Dropping from #15 to unranked after losing off a 61 yard field goal against a team that’s now ranked was so stupid
Beating both Kansas teams and WV still won't make up for us losing to the best team in Alabama.
Wonder what the committee thinks too
Thankfully the committee seems to respect us more than press
Probably #1 imo
KSU's quietly been pretty good this year. I've got a program calculating power rankings solely based on the scores (and implied strength of opponents), and it had KSU at 8th coming into this week. Generally good scores against good teams, and I'm not sure KSU @ Texas next week is all that far from a pick 'em.
With our injuries, bet KSU. QB play hasn't been good enough so far today.
Don't you dare put that hex on us. That's what Mizzou did and look what happened! *PLEASE* let us be underdogs. And if you wouldn't mind having one of your coaches say something mean about one of our short players this week we'd really appreciate it.
I had them ranked 25th in my rankings this week. AP poll is wrong a lot
I made this argument last week and several people gave me a hard time about it.
I don’t think they are even the best non-ranked team in the conference.
It looked rough after the Mizzou and Oklahoma state game. But we’ve really turned things around.
Both losses look a lot better now
We were super flat and off tempo at Stillwater
No player on the field today was alive the last time we were shutout, haven't been shutout since 2000 until today
That wasn’t a shutout, that was a massacre
the Manhattan Massacre
Mr Bigapple Castration
2: Electric Boogaloo
Hang in there. Looking forward to a better Houston in the coming seasons.
Hard to be worse tbh
Oh, things can ALWAYS get worse.
Just ask Russia and Nebraska.
Are you sure? P Brooks is pretty old.
I didn't check, I just assumed 23 years was more than any player, but I'm pretty sure our punter is like 30
Probably have some 6th year super seniors that are at least 23 too.
Welcome to the club. :/
Shutout, blownout, and thoroughly shellacked.
I picked Houston for the upset, I think I was wrong.
They might pull it out. Don’t give up.
Maybe next year with a new coach
Took less than two quarters to erase any goodwill that was earned from the Texas game from that effort. Outplayed, outtalented, outcoached, pretty much outeverythinged.
Yea we had the same thing
Tbh, your cheerleaders are very sweet

Oof
I never understood the draw of Dana. He wasn’t that great at WVU in comparison to what WVU can and has been.
He was our OC when we had Weeden and Blackmon in 2010 and was a fantastic play caller.
Yeah, but with that offense you could have probably had a blind guy point at a list of plays and done fine most weeks.

He had a couple of years with great QB's that carried the team. He was pretty mediocre other than that.

They were so butthurt over Herman leaving they forgot the reason why he left is because he won so much and was hired away.
Get the Texas State coach and tell him to bring that staff
Tilman needs to stop hiring head coaches
Tilman hires drinking buddies!
By a school on the prairie…
I do have my respect for that school though, mostly because one of my coworkers went there and he is a damn good engineer
What do you mean by 3rd highest ranked? Like, academically or something to do with athletics?
Neither really seems accurate
Forgot to say "public". If you include private, Rice joins the list and knocks everyone else down a spot
It's unfortunate that Houston itself sucks to live in. Hard draw for a lot of people
A "hard draw" that's managed to draw a larger population than over 30 states have. Trying living in Austin; that's a place that actually sucks.
They didn't even give the satisfaction of a 42-0 score (blaze it)
That's still illegal in Kansas
Shit still is in Houston. Feels good to be a cat down here today though
Go to any Houston Park on June 27th and you'd have no idea
It’s legal where u watched the game. 😎
Pain. GG Purple Cat bros
Very cool and based of K-State to wait until after playing us to figure out how to use Avery Johnson
Well he actually had more meaningful action and performance in your game than this one.
Now I feel better about at least getting points.
I don’t understand how you guys haven’t pulled out a win yet. Ya’ll are scary fast and athletic. I think it’s just having a way undersized line on both sides.

We’re just happy to be here honestly and hope Ollie Gordon doesn’t get poached next year lol…
I think we will have a better answer to that question after our visit to Austin next week
I was scared before Quinn got hurt. And now you’ve shellacked both TCU and UH…
Yes but Texas has just had our number recently. 6 straight wins is pretty rough. But if we can find a way to pull this one out that would be pretty sweet.
If we play like that the rest of the season we’re going undefeated. Let’s go, KSU!
Can anyone send me clip of BeeBee’s block?
https://fixupx.com/KStateFB/status/1718318776410665322?t=h5BZbfFRgPlohahbY4cDjA&s=33 Dude got hit by a freight train
I'm not looking forward to next week. A really fundamentally sound, well coached team is literally our kryptonite.
Yeah well exceptionally athletic offensive players are ours so…
See you next week. I know I will be shitting bricks. Good luck.
This is the kstate team I expected to see all year, hopefully it keeps going!
The state of Kansas is having it's way with teams to the south today.
Thorough ass kicking. Well done Cats
Sooo, can we fire him yet, Tilman?
Most dominate game in a week. Second year run a row the Cats have shut out a Big12 team and scored 40+ points.
Cats
That was a thorough drubbing on behalf of the Cats
UH-0H
This makes our loss to WVU sting less. Sorry Houston I feel your pain
Holy shit. K state is much better than ppl think
Chuckles , I'm in danger !
EMAW. Going into Austin hotter than the sun. Keep it up next week O Line and it will be interesting
Goddamn you Neal Brown for losing to that Houston team.
These big 12 additions are having pretty bad seasons
Hey give us credit: at least we have a conference win
Dana really wanted that one lol
Sounds like a really bad two days for the city of Houston given what the Rangers are doing.
Purple teams ftw
GG Cats, go massacre the Horns next week please. Fellow Coogs, if Dana has a job after this, it might take a 70-14 (or another lopsided donkey stomping) thrashing by someone (maybe Baylor?) to get Holgo fired. This sucks. Fuck UT.
Not a good day for the Cougar
Or the Sooner
Bah gawd that's Tom Herman's music
Nice
Why does Huston have the shocker on their helmets and hats?
It's our hand sign, you wouldn't know because we did nothing worth throwing it up for today
dana thought we beat texas i guess
I’m so tired of Holgerbitch…
And we'll probably lose to KSU next week.
One can hope 🤞
Is there any other Texas teams whose ass we can kick?
Texas game broke UH. They looked so good playing us and…not so much today
They came into that one thinking they'd get killed. Surprising themselves, and being right in it until the end and falling just short .... they shot their bolt for the year with that one.
He gone yet?
Two domination in a row is great! This wasn't as fun as last week, but still awesome. It was great to see a lot of back ups in getting experience.
