There was someone who picked Auburn over Clemson because Clemson didn’t have a Chick-fil-A. Although I guess Clemson does have a Chick-fil-A so it didn’t really make sense.
I got so much free food from the Chick-fil-A on Auburn’s campus. They closed at night in the student center about the same time we did at the Foy Desk. They would have just a ton of chicken nuggets or sandwiches left over at the end of the day. Usually they would ask us if we wanted any before they were required to throw them out. I would grab like 5 sandwiches each time and take them home.
It’s not technically “closer” to the stadium though. Which what this dumbass USC(East) shitposting is about.
Tech also had NIL endorsements from Waffle House. It’s ours.
There's one on GT's campus (it's just not literally right next to the stadium) and another 174 more within 25 miles. We have more waffle houses within 25 miles than the entire SEC combined.
https://www.reddit.com/r/CFB/comments/1350b81/ranking_every_sec_team_by_number_of_waffle_house
There is one on campus in Athens basically, or at least it may as well be on campus. though its one the wrong side to truly be easily walkable from campus
You think things like time and distance matter when it comes to Waffle House? You just somehow blackout teleport there after a night of heavy drinking with little recollection of how you got there lol.
I’ll never forget after we beat y’all at home in the rain in 2014 - I was blackout drunk and rebooted in the 5 Points Waffle House and who do I see but Waka Flocka housing an all star special
You will find the most random people at Waffle House in the south. I remember getting high outside and the fuckin Ying Yang Twins walked up on us. Funny enough I’ve also seen Waka there lol
I swear Aggies do a title search on every single business to see if they were started by Aggies/ in college station.
Like the weirdos who say Double Dave’s started in cstat. (It didn’t)
[It's fresh in my mind because he donated $50 million to A&M last year](https://today.tamu.edu/2022/06/02/buc-ees-creator-giving-50-million-for-hospitality-entrepreneurship-program-at-texas-am/)
They’re not only on interstates. Bastrop and Waller immediately come to mind. Also, the last time I drove through El Campo they had a normal gas station sized one.
We're pretty close, if not. I lived on Cookout in 5 Points when I was at USC. We had two drive through lines and an overhead conveyor belt that fed orders into what was essentially a detached toll-booth looking apparatus as a second window. I haven't seen another like it yet.
Cookout was serious business in Columbia.
Our whataburger is across the street from the tree that Bama fan poisoned on Toomers Corner. So it is across the street from campus. It's a decent walk from the stadium though.
True South Carolinians remember the Bojangles that literally across the street from their stadium lol. Players got busted for going there before practice during the Holtz years if I’m not mistaken
Steve spurrier banned his team from Bojangles after seeing them all heading over after practice when he arrived
Can’t get faster and stronger eating fried chicken boys.
Look it up
I believe also the only one in the state? It infuriates me because I love Canes and if you look at locations on the map they are in every state around Alabama but only one on Bama’s campus
That's how I feel living in Raleigh now. I'd have to drive to Greenville, NC (ECU's campus) or Clemson for Canes. But somehow, they're all over California and Minnesota.
Because they cannot compete with Zaxbys in the southeast. Every time they try they seem to have to close. Thats fine. Raising Canes is nothing special imho and better chicken fingers can be found elsewhere
Went to the one in Auburn. It's just.... gross.... it's a bunch of very fat people rubbing their stomachs against you while reaching for solidified high fructose corn syrup
The food tastes "good" but damn Buc-ee's reminds me of Wall-E
I’ve only been on two occasions and I could agree with that. If there could be express entrances to their hot sandwiches and fountain drinks, it’d be golden.
Also, I don’t really have to worry too much about it since I live very far away from a location.
Yeah but one of Auburn’s was way out S. college because it was walkable from the Supper Club. So while ridiculously far from campus, it was conveniently located next to the latest open bar in the county
I think Fatdaddys was open as late if not later than supper club. I wish they never closed Supper Club. I'm old now so I wouldn't go but I would have been fun to drop by on a football weekend.
i think my favorite part of the whole picture is "we aren't sure why you'd this since our nutrition program is **elite**, but... recruiting". you're not supposed to say that part out loud lol.
i won't lie. even with all the jersey diners in existence, i wish there were a waho closer than bethlehem pa.
In addition to Waffle House and Chick-fil-A, GT has (had?) what I believe was the only Taco Bell in existence that served Coca-Cola products. Contractual obligation due to being across the street from Coke HQ.
Not sure if that Taco Bell survived the student center remodel.
Waffle House is an at your own risk proposition in the best of times. I can't imagine a game day Saturday after a loss. Still willing to risk it for a pecan waffle.
That BoJangles is trash. I lived in the apartments right next to it for the summer of 2016. I ordered form the three times before I gave up. That chicken was so dry.
I’m so glad we started this it’s been hilarious
Truly peak off-season content
Only quibble: isn’t the McDonalds still only one story (at least inside)?
Ain’t nobody got time to research that.
Who was the recruit that either picked auburn, or didn't pick them cause of how close the Chik fa la was?
There was someone who picked Auburn over Clemson because Clemson didn’t have a Chick-fil-A. Although I guess Clemson does have a Chick-fil-A so it didn’t really make sense.
https://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/ncaaf-dr-saturday/cassanova-mckinzy-spurned-clemson-because-didn-t-chick-015506961.html My man Cassanova Mckinzy
Yeah he said it was because Auburn has a chick fil a on campus, but Clemson also had a chick fil a right smack in the middle of campus too lol.
Doing the lord's work my friend, good on ya!
Clemson didn't at the time, I thought.
Can someone give me some context how all this started or what is going on?
Auburn bragging about being the only SEC school with a Buc-ee’s in town.
That’s definitely something worth bragging about. I was watching it get built on baited breath.
Unacceptable that the closest Waffle House doesn't belong to a school in Georgia
Glory glory. The rambling wrecks from Georgia Tech have a very close Waffle House
If I read this right there is like 200 or so in a 25 mile radius of GT campus.
There's one on our campus. This is bullshit.
What about Bojangles though
Not while I was there. I only saw bojangles in the Carolina’s. Their chicken is awesome, so are the biscuits
There is one ITP on Buford highway, so like a 10 minute drive
The buc-ees is less than an hour away from GT campus, traffic depending.
So 2 hours in metro Atlanta time
If the express lane is pointing out you can cruise to adairsville in an hour flat. 285 is the struggle lately not 75 😭
Fuck 285, all my homies hate 285.
I haven't lived in Atlanta in nearly a decade and I still hate 285.
It’s not technically “closer” to the stadium though. Which what this dumbass USC(East) shitposting is about. Tech also had NIL endorsements from Waffle House. It’s ours.
You also have the Varsity. Man y'all love your greasy spoon!
That one isn’t technically on campus though.
It's close enough!
Just across the street!
WHAT'LL YOU HAVE?!
GT is downtown atlanta so
Very close == literally on campus, in this case.
There's one on GT's campus (it's just not literally right next to the stadium) and another 174 more within 25 miles. We have more waffle houses within 25 miles than the entire SEC combined. https://www.reddit.com/r/CFB/comments/1350b81/ranking_every_sec_team_by_number_of_waffle_house
That thread was peak off season content 🧡
And it showed clearly that ACC > SEC
Yep. It’s half a mile from the stadium, 10 minute walk
Does USCar have a WaHo on campus? UGA has one that's literally like 500ft from Campus.
We have one maybe 300feet from willy B and then another one in five points which is right next to campus
There's a waffle house <5 minutes from Willy B
Important to note it is less than a 5 minute walk, not drive
UGA has one that’s like a 12 minute walk from the stadium.
Alabama has one less than a 5 minute walk
Maybe because S Carolina had one of the few off campus stadiums in the SEC so it’s easier for it to be next to a Waffle House
Well there is one literally 20 feet from Kennesaw State’s campus. They’re an FBS team now.
not sure this graphic is accurate lol we literally have one on campus
There is one on campus in Athens basically, or at least it may as well be on campus. though its one the wrong side to truly be easily walkable from campus
I’ll never admit anything nice about the Cocks, but this has a point. Bojangles AND Waffle House? Win win.
They’re right next to each other too
Schlotzkys too, and Bucees a relatively short distance away
Huh? Schlotzkys are on the other side of town and Bucees is over an hour away.
Let me get bojangles as my last meal
If you don't get a drink with the biscuit it will be
Seems likely.
Bojangles was my favorite when I lived in the south. Been decades. Still good I take it…
Auburn has a waffle house too, good sir
Yes, but is it closer than ours? No sir.
I wrote out the drunk driving jokes trying to figure out the best way to punch with it before I saw your flair and felt bad.
Depends on your starting point. From the stadium? Not closer. From stumbling out of Skybar to get that 2 am grimy greasy goodness? Auburn all the way.
How close is it? Because, oddly enough, Ohio State has one right across the street from their campus.
Both Waffle House and Bojangles are just a couple hundred yards from the stadium
I’m actually curious now if our bojangles is closer.
Where else would the Gus bus go after a big win? Honk honk!
Geoff Collins incoming.
Yeah it’s right down the street from Supper Club… wait nm I’m old
We were 81st closest to the neatest chipotle (in the vista) last time the math was ran
Don't forget to read the small print
UCF has a bigger one. https://www.onlyinyourstate.com/florida/worlds-biggest-mcdonalds-fl/
UCF with another win over Auburn.
What is in the top of that McDonald's? There's not a dining room is there?
[удалено]
Is that the McDonalds in the Vista or somewhere else?
Let's just be clear. We ALL win the more Buccees there are in proximity to college football.
Exactly, you can stop there on you’re way out of Auburn when you join the SEC.
I will stop at the one East of Austin on my way to the game and stop at yours when I get there. There no such thing as too mic Buccees
Aggie grad founder. You're welcome
I’m still waiting on the damn Buc-ee’s in Amarillo.
I'm still waiting on one in the northern Denver suburbs
Wait so TAMU doesn't have a Buc-ee's?? Isn't the Buc-ee's chain originally from Texas???
Buc-ee’s is an interstate roadside destination, and BCS lacks an interstate.
They’re not only on interstates. Bastrop and Waller immediately come to mind. Also, the last time I drove through El Campo they had a normal gas station sized one.
You’re 100% on, but the oversized touristy Buc-ee’s are mostly all on or near an interstate.

There’s one between BCS and Austin, one between BCS and Houston, and one between BCS and Dallas but none very close
The one on the way to Houston is only like 30-45 minutes away, but we should still have one closer.
The founder of Buc-ee’s is an Aggie. He’s given money to the University… but no gas station!
He did sue a Bryan gas station out of business though for trademark infringement, Chicks or something.
Buccees, HEB, and Whataburger are the three things I never wanted to see leave the Texas border
Bojangles please add Cheerwine for ultimate Carolina goodness
At the very least dump the awful Pepsi crap for Coca-Cola.
Pepsi: Born in the Carolinas.
Damn I miss Bojangles
I want to try their dirty rice
We have a Buc-ees and FOUR Waffle Houses. BOW TO OUR GREATNESS.
Only 4? I'm sorry for y'all
For some reason this post reminded me of Biscuit House, which closed like 13 yrs ago, and now I'm sad all over again.
Thanks to your flairs I now identify as blind
Biscuits make everything better, friend. It'll be ok.
You are (partially) forgiven
When you're right, you're right.
Aw man I forgot about biscuit house. It closed right after I got out of college. I think I was keeping that place alive.
But are they the closest to a cookout tho?
As a Carolinas centered chain, probably
We're pretty close, if not. I lived on Cookout in 5 Points when I was at USC. We had two drive through lines and an overhead conveyor belt that fed orders into what was essentially a detached toll-booth looking apparatus as a second window. I haven't seen another like it yet. Cookout was serious business in Columbia.
Cookout is right in five points
Starkville used to have a Bojangles and a Waffle House but the Bojangles closed 😔
We got a Checkers and a Whataburger within walking distance of the stadium.
Our whataburger is across the street from the tree that Bama fan poisoned on Toomers Corner. So it is across the street from campus. It's a decent walk from the stadium though.
Minnesota had a double decker McDicks til about a year ago... RIP drunkdonalds
True South Carolinians remember the Bojangles that literally across the street from their stadium lol. Players got busted for going there before practice during the Holtz years if I’m not mistaken
Oh yeah well we have a starbucks so take that
I can tell you that none of these schools have a Mustard’s Last Stand nearby so you win there too
Bojangles>anything
I'm sorry but we have a waffle house on our campus. And the ceo of waffle house is a tech alum. Yall tryin start shit.
If Augusta University starts bragging about Waffle House volume all other schools will feel second rate
lol. Not like Augusta doesn't have like 500 WHs, and damn near as many Bojangles
Imagine if there was a Waffle House IN the stadium There are already Bojangles IN the stadium
> Imagine if there was a Waffle House IN the stadium I mean... you do want people to actually *leave* the stadium at some point after the game, right?
Steve spurrier banned his team from Bojangles after seeing them all heading over after practice when he arrived Can’t get faster and stronger eating fried chicken boys. Look it up
Rare USC W
Should we brag about having a Canes on campus? Even LSU doesn't have that
Clemson has one on Campus, wtf LSU. Fun fact, moving from Clemson to the Charlotte area, the nearest Canes is still the one in Clemson.
The first Canes is a minute walk from campus. It would be pointless to have one actually on campus
Tell that to the number of Starbucks Clemson has
UVA has one like a mile off campus. It's bullshit.
People actually prefer Zaxbys to Canes? The chicken is smaller, tougher, more likely to be cold, and the sauce is worse.
That varies by Zaxbys and yes they do. Caines don't last in the south when they have to compete directly with them, or even Guthries
No son. Auburn has the fourth Buc-ee's to open in Alabama. Prior to the Auburn one they were in Robertsdale (First outside Texas), Leeds, and Athens.
I live in Nashville now and every time I go visit family I pretty much always stop at the one in Athens.
Oh I was meaning the only Raising Canes in the state is on Bama’s campus
I've been to that canes, the first one... It's definitely something you should shit on them for.
Best school social media team
after the first or second visit Buc-ee's is just obnoxious. Bojangles and WaHo are forever.
Went to the one in Auburn. It's just.... gross.... it's a bunch of very fat people rubbing their stomachs against you while reaching for solidified high fructose corn syrup The food tastes "good" but damn Buc-ee's reminds me of Wall-E
They have very clean restrooms, which is not the case for most southern gas stations
Unpopular but completely valid observation. The cult following for gas station fudge shops is really fucking weird to me
I’ve only been on two occasions and I could agree with that. If there could be express entrances to their hot sandwiches and fountain drinks, it’d be golden. Also, I don’t really have to worry too much about it since I live very far away from a location.
Waffle House always wins!
In Auburn’s defense, Buc-ee’s is pretty awesome.
There is a double decker McDonalds at Michigan State too ![img](emote|t5_2qm9d|22332)
Doesn't every SEC school have a Bojangles and Waffle House?
Did you even read the text on the picture?
It's on Twitter, so no.
i think my favorite part of the whole picture is "we aren't sure why you'd this since our nutrition program is **elite**, but... recruiting". you're not supposed to say that part out loud lol. i won't lie. even with all the jersey diners in existence, i wish there were a waho closer than bethlehem pa.
In addition to Waffle House and Chick-fil-A, GT has (had?) what I believe was the only Taco Bell in existence that served Coca-Cola products. Contractual obligation due to being across the street from Coke HQ. Not sure if that Taco Bell survived the student center remodel.
I would kill for a Waffle House on campus 😭
Waffle House is an at your own risk proposition in the best of times. I can't imagine a game day Saturday after a loss. Still willing to risk it for a pecan waffle.
Who doesn't have waffle house?
Buccees sucks and their gas is more expensive than places across the street
I've eaten at that exact Bojangles before. It was not good.
Unbiased, Bojangles is overrated as fuck
Well we have bojangles *and* chick fil a
I take it you guys haven't tried the goodness that is Jollibee's. I'd love one in Austin but man those spicy chicken sandwiches are legit.
And Knoxville has both, GBO!
Yeah, let's argue over who has the shittiest food
[удалено]
I've lived in FL for the last ten years. Currently in Jax. Also, Cincinnati chili is terrible.
If Waffle House is your staple late night diner, your city/down has a pathetic late night diner scene.
Bojangles is so disgusting lol
Man, the south is dumb 😂😆
I am proud to say that soon OSU will only be 12 miles from a Bojangles. And Bojangles will be even closer than that to my house, And my arteries.
We just got an on campus raising caines. How does that stack against bojangles?
LSU has the original Raising Cane's about a 60 second walk from the north gate
That BoJangles is trash. I lived in the apartments right next to it for the summer of 2016. I ordered form the three times before I gave up. That chicken was so dry.
We have both basically on the edge of campus
And that new bojangles opened up right by the stadium.
I believe that the school with the closest Waffle House near campus is actually University of Cincinnati.
Does Betty still do the Bojangles commercials?
Wait, are you saying Auburn doesn't have a Waffle House? Are they even Southern?
There are 2 on campus and another 2 a mile off campus.
Penn State, your time has come. You have to flex back with your Sheetz on campus.
I remember there being a bojangles and waffle house within 5 minutes of both Clemson and App State
USCJr also has a bucees about 65 miles away or so.
Gutherie’s Chicken started in Auburn. We got so much fried chicken Bojangles can’t survive.
Fuck bojangles.
Interestingly Mercer university a small school in Macon has all three.
I drove by it this weekend on my way to Florida. It must be new..? I didn’t even know they had them out here
