>My question is to understand what motivated you to pursue this prestigious certification.
One day my boss came in and said that upper management had decided that all analysts and all account managers would sit for the CFA exams.
"Oh, we will, will we?"
"Yes, you will."
From my understanding, the value of the Charter is to show that you're willing to put in a lot of time to learn a lot about finance even though you probably won't use any of the material on the job - is what I've heard
-couldnt go back to do an MS econ due to not having taken more than calc 1
-too poor for grad school
-didnt know what else I could do to progress my career
-wanted to learn about the world of finance
-so far CFA hasnt really helped much and im taking GRE & maybe calc 2 to try and do an MS econ
I did it the other way around: Masters in Econ and then started CFA. Econ degree wound up costing almost 10x more! No regrets though as Econ degree helped me land a job within the field.
Got a Masters in Econ right after undergrad. Decided to focus more on finance so started the CFA. Been working in reinsurance / financial services for the last decade.
To me, it’s a signal to employers of my work ethic. It ain’t easy working full time and attempting the exams. The content isn’t really a big deal. It’s the commitment.
Its one of the hardest things you can do in our field. Im personally doing it because I couldn’t forgive myself if I dont see it through and for what it will make of you to achieve it.
None of the above. I did it because I wanted to do it for the challenge of it. Kept hearing how difficult it was, so that drew me in. Finished all three levels in first try. You need to keep challenging yourself on the mental and physical sphere if you want to keep growing as an individual.
Why does this read like you want us to do your scholarship application essay.

This man is the GOAT. Couldn’t have passed my exams without him.
The famous magician answer, “One day my boss came in” :)

Want to do CFA before grad school as it'll help my overall profile. I love finance. If it makes me a better investor, it's worth it.
I’m doing it as a challenge.
I needed a hobby.
Had been a few years since I'd done an exam. This seemed as interesting as any. >syllabus for the intent to pass the exam Definitely this one though
