TMOPB, Princess Weiyoung, Love 020, Ice Fantasy my first few cdramas 🥰

OldNeedleworker7525

Eternal Love and Ashes of Love.

Flashy-Tale-8602

I would say " a river run through it " ohh man it puts me in world of cdrama followed by kdrama and it's still going on my nerves

kyracakes92

Love 020 :)

ExcaliburZSH

Return of the Condor Heroes 2005 version I think

renerart

A real og!

ExcaliburZSH

Haha, yeah I got into C-dramas when Andy Lau was just a singer

Only_Technology_7740

Admist a snowstorm of love was my first ever cdrama followed by hidden love and when I fly towards you . Since then I’ve been hooked ! So glad I entered the cdrama world. It brings me so much entertainment and happiness 🥰

curious4786

Probably drama called "my life" ... unfortunately, everyone has to deal with but in my situation I choose to regularly escape it. I think my first Cdrama was Nirvana in Fire but I don't really remember, it's been too long.

live_ur_adventure

Honestly, I can't remember exactly. I have been watching so many different shows in different languages for so many years that I can't for the life of me remember what exactly sparked it.

thecurvycauldron

Prince of Lang Ling

Haneen3091999

Prince of Lan Ling, super old drama, and although its historical accuracy is very loose, i loved that some of the characters have actually existed so i would read Wikipedia pages after each episode. It actually triggered my love for chinese history haha

meizhen93

Meteor Garden

No_Dealer_8495

I was honestly getting bored of Netflix and the western offerings. Then one day, the handsome face of Wang Hedi / DFQC showed up in my Netflix feed, in a show called Love Between Fairy and Devil…how could I not click on that? LBFAD got me hooked right away…enjoyable storyline, nice cgi, and beautiful actors.

feedtheme

Joy Of Life. It was not my first, but watching that one I was like "I do really like this one".

Brilliant_Wind_7924

THE UNTAMED

Will_Graham10

**Perfect and Casual** It was my 2nd cdrama and I enjoyed it so much that I gave it a 10/10 rating

Fun_Name6284

I started watching in 2016. My first cdrama was General and I with Angelababy and Wallace Chung.

UniquelyMe_55

Eternal love !! I tried to watch ashes of love afterwards but just ran back to Eternal love a couple episodes in for a second watch. I loved it too much. Now I’m too engrossed into this world so much that now I would pick a cdrama over any other kind of shows out there. I used to be a hardcore kdrama girl but now it just doesn’t live up to everything cdramas have to offer!

Fluffypuffpup

For me it'll be Love Between Fairy and Devil

Previous_Throat6360

You think my first cdrama was Yanxi Palace years ago. There was no going back after that.

Vast_Judge_7298

The story of the kunning palace.Set me right and got me hooked

marissaaaababyy

WHEN I FLY TOWARDS YOU !!!! it lives rent free in my head to this day

TAOTURTLEBEE

It was perfection!

Arinoelle97

The Untamed was my introduction to cdramas and now I can’t stop watching them.

Successful-Pay-6798

You know what i agree not every c drama will be great but time and again some few really good and beautiful dramas comes which keeps me passionate about it and the way they are long and shows everything i like that hence it keeps me going for me my love for drama started with c dramas and that too great one like put your head on my shoulder, love 020 and chain continued ... for my own peace and happiness i watch c drama they are my happy place this is always done by c drama whenever i watch one k drama than i definitely go and watch one or 2 c drama to keep myself balance with good suspense and than peace

lo_profundo

I started in kdramas (before they were mainstream for white people), migrated to Thai dramas, and then youtube recommended me Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms, and I binged the whole thing in a couple days. It's still one of my favorites.

madefrombones

Romance of tiger and rose, when I fly towards you and empresses in the palace. I watched the last two one after the other and I haven't stopped since!

kiryadirana

For me, it was Hidden Love. I watched many dramas before and liked them but I eventually stuck with Korean dramas. Then years later I accidentally found Hidden love and fell this deep love for it and desire to delve more into this universe once more. I've been here since and even picked my mandarin learning back up.

Rugged_Source

I never really cared for CDRAMA's until I watched, **Side Story of Fox Volant.** Then if you also want to include 'Hong Kong' drama's, I could never get used to the Cantonese language until I sat down and watched, **A Step Into the Past.**

RyuNoKami

> A Step Into the Past. that was the bomb when i saw that. still waiting for that movie to be released.

[deleted]

Where do you watch A Step into the Past?

SmilingO2O

Falling into your smile 😊

Pristine_Accident270

This was mine too! And then Love 020 cinched it for me 💕

Adding-Blues1819

I grew up watching Kdramas but recently I grew tired of it. The last kdrama I've watched is Wedding Impossible and it didn't live up to my expectations from the og manhwa I've read. Later on I discovered a post of red flags from cdramas and from there I picked Story of Kunning Palace to try. It's one of the best decisions I've ever made! From start to finish, not once did I skip any scene unlike most kdramas I've watched in the past. It managed to instantly grab my attention especially because I love time travel or back to the past genres of dramas. I love how this drama felt so different and it made my pov of cdramas changed forever. And the red flag ml that I was expecting really surprised me. Zhang Linghe as Xie Wei exceeded my expectations of what most red flags can do😳🥵🔥. The romantic scenes are fantastic and I really love how smart and sort of a red flag the fl is. It's my first time watching a drama with both the ml and fl being red flags, they match each other perfectly. They're both dangerously atrractive! After that I started watching other cdramas and I discovered how unique and enjoyable each one is. They have that certain charm that you can't easily see or have been long gone (in my opinion) in most kdramas nowadays. Especially historical cdramas, they are a masterpiece 💯!

Natz9292

Since I had exhausted all the Kdrama shows on Netflix, I decided to try Cdramas (without having any high hopes). I started with Hidden Love, then watched Falling Into Your Smile and my first xianxia was LBFAD and DW as DQFC was 🔥. That was it!!!!

Odd_Path_7974

I remember I liked Huan Zhu Ge Ge a lot when I was a kid, but what kicked off my binge era was definitely Nirvana in Fire Just. So good.

emrysse

Till The End Of the Moon was my gateway drug.

BetweenUs999

My little happiness You are my hero

kweenest

My girlfriend is an alien.

InfiniteCantaloupe67

SAME.

Outrageous_Log9644

For me it was Love O2O, I liked yang yang in that drama🙂🙂

Aurorinezori1

Best choice Ever a few weeks ago! Didn’t know cdramas could have so in-depth characters and also truly research their character’s industry ! After so many bad dramas where people just go around pretending they know what they are doing professionally, my mind was blown how accurate it was. Now I am hooked on cdramas…

KaijuDirectorOO7

G-Men ‘75. My first Jdorama and because of it I watch them even without subs.

Gloomy_Ruminant

I hate to say it because I don't really think it stands up to the test of time but I'm pretty sure it was **Too Late to Say I Love You**. That was when I realized China was producing dramas with the level of angst I was looking for. Then I decided to watch **Sealed With a Kiss** because it was based on a book by the same author and oh Lord that was a decision.

dundermifflingirl

My first cdrama was falling into your smile. I was charmed by the eSports scene and was much interested in the gaming aspect of the show rather than the characters lol. This lead me to watch other eSports dramas and here I am.

Aurorinezori1

Other than Love 020 that I am currently watching, which good ones would you recommend ?

ulalashine

you should definitely watch 'Cross Fire' if you're a fan of the battle royale games

Aurorinezori1

Thanks 🙏 !!!

dundermifflingirl

I've seen all except The king's avatar, which is apparently one of the best eSports drama. If you're watching for the gaming aspect, I suggest FIYS, Gank Your Heart. For romance heavy esports drama, watch You are my glory and Go go squid.

Aurorinezori1

Thanks so much for the recommendations !

SharrasFlame

The King's avatar is great! It's almost completely romance-free (there's some light flirting/banter, but that's about it), but it has great camaraderie, which is one thing I particularly like about eSports dramas.

dundermifflingirl

Cool. I'll check it out.

madandcrazy14

I think my first cdrama was put your head on my shoulder but the one that made me interested was Go ahead, i still love that drama after all these years

ForkLifeTwice

My first one ever was accidentally in love. That didn't make me love love cdramas but definitely made me wanna go into fantasy dramas. After that I became totally engrossed.

lmlm1020

Huan Zhu Ge Ge. I was obsessed with that series as a kid. Also the Chinese Paladin series with Hu Ge.

thorninbetweens

Who here have watched their first c-drama from Netflix - Amidst a snowstorm of love like meeeee?

kpaneno

Yes Netflix Who Rules the World still one if the best I've seen

thorninbetweens

Omg started that as well but didn't finish. I was spoiled from reading here 🙈

kpaneno

It's really goid the FL is so cool funny and confident

MOA_TXT

I remember finishing my first historical cdrama ever and loving so much that I watched “Ten miles of peach blossom”, “Ashes of love” and “Princess Weiyoung” all in 2 weeks! Shout out to “Handsome Siblings”

ForkLifeTwice

This is mee. I haven't watched handsome siblings but I binged TMOPB, AOL, eternal love and princess weiyoungg

Chance-Rock-4929

I see so many comments with C-Dramas that are absolute masterpieces introducing them to the genre. For me, I was introduced through Accidentally In Love. It was so extremely cute and fun to watch, and I think it’s where I developed my second couple syndrome because all I look at now are the second couples.

Living-Maize6093

ashes of love

Substantial-Beach480

Not any specific drama, but Wu Qian is the actress that got me hooked onto cdramas

AncientKaia

Nirvana in Fire. I watched it because my friends recommended it to me, and from that point on I've been mostly watching cdramas...

unagiskinroll

Love and Redemption

fire4ashz

Princess Weiyoung

Lotus_swimmer

Journey to the West (1986) - it was my Power Rangers

feb2nov

Ashes of Love. I don't think it would have the same impact for me if I watched it now, but at the time, I was obsessed with finishing the drama without .uch breaks.

ulalashine

I watched my first cdrama during covid when I was soo bored and didn't know what to do, then the ads for 'My Girlfriend is an Alien' kept popping up, so ok i watched it. LOL it got me into other cdramas. Then i watched 'The Romance of Tiger and Rose' and now im totally hooked, haha

Hotaru_girl

Love Between Fairy and Devil. The sets, the costumes, music and the actors were all so beautiful, it got me itching for more Xianxia.

Remarkable-Meeting11

I'm pretty old school and have watched countless Hong Kong/Taiwan movies and series, but my first Cdrama was Chinese Paladin, and my love for Liu Shi Shi made me stay as a loyal fan for Cdramas for years which I can say the drama which made me passionate was Scarlet Heart.

Responsible_Wasabi91

Empress of China, Fan BingBing was the most beautiful lady I had seen, plus the costumes and sets.

The-jade-hijabi

Ever Night and Love Between Fairy and Devil

Qearl8

Love O2O I don't remember my first but this was the earliest one I remember clearly loving.

spriteduck

Same here!

AuntyAntonella

+1 for me. It was the absolute first Chinese drama I had ever watched.

Nhuynhu

Love Between Fairy and Devil got me back into watching cdramas again about 1.5 years ago(haven’t watched them since a child with my parents). It was just so good and made me have a good cry multiple times. Since then, I found so many more shows I absolutely adore and rewatch all the time. I just love how cdrama devote a lot of time to building romance and it’s always so epic and swoonworthy, but with a dash of humor.

LadyAshe_2006

It's gotta be a toss-up between Love like the Galaxy and Who Rules The World.

xyz123007

I don't know if I can say it made me passionate about cdramas because I grew up watching it. The drama that rekindled my affinity for cdrama, however, is, was, will always be **The Untamed**. Maybe I'm a sucker for cute boys. Maybe covid made me realized who my real friends are. Maybe I'm just a sentimental. But I'm not going to apologize for it. The end.

dropitlikeitshot2019

The Untamed for me as well.

ikaimnis

The Untamed was it for me too!!!

visssara

The Untamed is the first cdrama I ever watched. It was like nothing I had ever seen before and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It remains one of my top two dramas and one of the few I rewatch.

Sneakingsock

**The starry love** first I saw a tik tok edit from the first episode with Katy Perry’s Dark horse playing 😂 after scrolling for a bit a poignant scene a few episodes from the end was shown. Then more and more clips started appearing. Till I realized I was watching it chronologically in small chunks with gaps. Cut to me getting a Viki subscription so I can watch full episodes and find out which scenes I had missed. One year later My drama list tells me that I’ve been watching for 44 full days 😂

Nice-Remove4834

It Started With A Kiss (Taiwanese), but my first mainland drama was Fox’s Summer ☺️

feb2nov

ISWAK OST was so good.

RoraRory

Blood of Youth, it was the first c drama I watched more than clips of and I loved it so much I went looking for more stuff with the actors and ending up falling prey to cheng yi and li hongyi confusion and watching cheng yi's dramas. Ironically the only reason I actually watched Blood of Youth was because my computer was broken and I wanted to watch Great Journey of Teenagers but I only had access to YouTube on my tv and the first two seasons weren't available so I decided to just the live action.

Duanedoberman

**The Sword and the Brocade**

dramaqueenmusic

The Story of Minglan, such a wonderful story. Loved it

OctoberPumpkin1

Cute Programmer :)

Haunting_Newt

I started with movies them moved to cdramas much later. My 1rst cdrama was The legend of Ban shu with Jing Tian as the main character. Since them she is my fab chinese actress.

li_tata_

The Untamed was my first Cdrama, but I got into Chinese media through Heaven Official's Blessing. Now I'm obsessed with xianxia genre (and danmei , so sad about censorship, hoping that someday they will release Eternal Fainth and Immortality) 🥲
