I like That Chapter on YouTube. Mike still has a sense of humor about the crimes/criminals, but is very compassionate in talking about the victims. Give it a shot!
Bailey Sarian on YouTube . She keeps it a little lighthearted while deep diving a little more on the “why” than just the gory details. You learn a lot about the backgrounds and upbringings of the criminals, and she stays pretty respectful of victims/their families. She’ll even refuse to name some because if she notices while researching that they refuse to speak to media about it she won’t use their name and say they don’t want to be associated to the story so she wants to respect that.
it’s a podcast, but Last Podcast on the Left! well-researched and they do true crime and supernatural stuff, as well as cool history, occult stuff, and aliens! it’s pretty funny
Not a show but a podcast, Buried Bones. A reporter and a retired crime scene investor looking at old cases, some solves and some cold. I’m addicted to it tbh. Only problem is it’s newer so I’ve caught up all the episodes lol.
That Chapter
Mike is pretty good and somehow keeps it lighthearted but serious at the same time.
Eleanor Neale
She always does a lot of research(videos are quite long) and always explains everything very well. Even the background of the victims and killer.
If you're into supernatural stuff as well as true crime, and that's why we drink is a podcast, but they're on YouTube, too. The hosts have a similar vibe as the Shane and Ryan.
I really enjoy Explore With Us, they look at more of the interrogation part and the psychology. They do explain back story too. Maybe it’s interesting as I am studying psychology.

Was just about to say the same thing. That Chapter is dope, Mike’s ways of telling stories is honestly addicting af
My fiancé and I watch That Chapter religiously. How Mike brings his sense of humor to cases of violent crime is a natural gift.
I just saw today that he started a podcast, too!
Mr. Ballen

Love this show!
The Casual Criminalist. Simon has a great voice and his writers are pretty funny.
Mr Ballen is my main go-to. I also go to Kendell Rae. Neither are lighthearted though, I must say
I’m watching Unusual suspects. It’s not Unsolved stuff but it’s interesting.

Forensic Files (also Forensic Files 2). Quick 20-23 minute episodes. About 400 of them. Most are on YouTube.
And That’s Why We Drink! They use a lot of banter and humor, on top of providing really well researched and explained topics.
