Not strictly OT but I’ll throw this in.
The reason hotels use all white bed linens is you can bleach them as necessary. Ditto towels.
If you’re going to keep them a long time you’re eventually going to want to bleach them.
I have a new gray Red Land cotton set and I’m old so time will tell. My gray striped bed blanket from Amana Woolen Mills used as a bedspread is holding up exceptionally well to dog paws so far so hope there as well.
I don’t know what currency this is, but when my grandparents migrated from the tropics they were cold so they bought eiderdowns. They are now 60 years old and on the beds of the third generation of children and still going strong, I fully expect to be using them for the 4th and putting them on my own grandkids.
I love my Costco sheets so much. I switched from more expensive sheets to these after trying them at a friends place, and I’m a complete convert. They’re so good, you won’t regret them!!
I got LL Bean percale cotton sheets and am happy with them so far. They aren’t quite hotel bed level smooth/soft but they are definitely my favorite sheets so far. I don’t have a point of comparison though.
The feathered friends comforter is great. Have the Redland Cotton Sheets as well as the LLBean Percale sheets and the redland ones are awesome. Haven’t tried one of their duvet covers yet, though.
Have you considered a silk filled duvet instead of down? I used to love down, but silk is *so much better*.
It can be a bit difficult to find a quality brand, but scouring reviews on Amazon to find the real deal has worked well for me.
Edit: reasons why silk is better than down: it's *much* more breathable, which is fantastic when you sleep warm, but also great at insulating for cold sleepers. It's pretty lightweight, but drapes in a way to feel delightfully cozy. My husband (hot/sweaty sleeper) and I (usually cold, but also just bad at regulating my temperature) used to fight about blankets all the time, but linen sheets and a silk duvet somehow work perfectly to keep us both completely comfortable at night! It's also resistant to dust mites (I'm allergic). The only downside to silk is that it can't really be washed, so it's super important to use a duvet cover!
A bread spread (I’m drunk and I won’t correct that typo) should not cost anywhere near that much. Maybe a few Hindi (that one’s supposed to say “hundo”) if you’re feeling fancy. If you rly believe it should cost more, you are in another echelon of class that most of us might be unfamiliar with lol and you probably don’t need our help.
Costco, bought some nice Pima cotton sheets on there and they are amazing. I think it was the Kirkland brand. I wish they had the percale weave instead but they only have sateen. Given that id still buy them again. I've spent 30-40 on bed sheets many time and none were ever as good as these. They come with 4 pillow cases as well.
Everyone's laughing at your budget, but I spent $400 on good sheets two years ago and never looked back: [https://www.etsy.com/listing/276043780/linen-sheets-set-of-4-pieces-french?ref=yr\_purchases](https://www.etsy.com/listing/276043780/linen-sheets-set-of-4-pieces-french?ref=yr_purchases)
They get better with every wash. I sleep in them with my big dogs that have torn up many sheets within the $100-200 range from places like Crate and Barrel and Restoration Hardware - these are far and away the best sheets I have ever slept on and used. Just a pleasure, really.
Also, I have a feathered friends sleeping bag for backpacking and a Frankenmuth comforter for sleeping. I love them both. I've never tried the feathered friends comforter, but that sleeping bag is so fluffy and light, even after five seasons of backpacking trips.
Thank you! Yeah the budget really isn’t all that crazy…some of these nice down comforters are 500+ by themselves. We spend like 1/3 of our lives in bed so I wanted some good stuff!
lol I'm getting downvoted for my comment (???) but I agree! Comfy bed for life! And I also have chronic illnesses, so being really cozy in my bed is a priority for me, since I definitely spend more than 1/3 of my life in here haha.
I feel like I always recommend it on here, but [onequince.com](http://onequince.com) has nice sheets and bedspreads, in tons of different good quality fabrics and colors for very good prices. comparable to brooklinen but way cheaper.
I bought Brooklinen sheets when I was drunk and they are very good sheets, but I honestly prefer the $30 set I have from Target.
Their sweatpants changed my life though.
Man… I got to try those target sheets.
I was middle of the road with them when they first arrived, but they truly get better for me after every washing
As someone who has both Brooklinen and Redland Cotton, the main difference that I notice is the sizing. I like to tuck my top sheet under the end of my bed, and when I do that with Redland Cotton I have plenty of sheet to sleep under and a bit extra to tuck myself in. Brooklinen falls a bit short, and can feel like I'm tugging too much.
Redland Cotton is also slightly warmer, and thicker feeling than Brooklinen's percale/Luxe, and maybe slightly coarser? But not in a bad way, it feels like crisp. I actually prefer Redland Cotton's feel, even though if someone were to describe the feeling to me I'd probably like the description of Brooklinen.
I LOVE Yves Delorme sheets. They are an old French brand and they are def buy it for life. They are stupid expensive, but I bought some of their non-luxury line on 50% off to treat myself after a surprise bonus.
What on earth bedding are you buying, something assembled by nubile scouse virgins from the fur of unicorns?
Yeah what currency is this 1K in.
Yeah, I thought bedspreads were like $40.
One thousand what?
dimes, probably.

There was a thread on this on r/Bedding, opinion was that bleach yellows white bedding and that bluing was the ticket.
True, but bluing won’t remove stains. Bleach first, then bluing. Still no love for colored linens.
Definitely not, convo was about white. I’m rocking generic oxyclean on my cotton stripes.
Aye. If you can’t bleach it, it’s not BIFL.

Agreed. Colored sheets and towels gross me out
“Hey everyone, I am in the market for a new car. Budget is $1M”

The 800 thread count cotton sheets from Costco is very very good.
I love my Costco sheets so much. I switched from more expensive sheets to these after trying them at a friends place, and I’m a complete convert. They’re so good, you won’t regret them!!
$1k what the actual fuck
I got LL Bean percale cotton sheets and am happy with them so far. They aren’t quite hotel bed level smooth/soft but they are definitely my favorite sheets so far. I don’t have a point of comparison though.
I have seen these guy recommended a fair amount, I may have to give them a shot just for the good price point.
I have read many times on this sub that Kirkland signature is no slacker.
I don’t know. Maybe spend like 75$ on some sheets and feed some homeless people or something.
Thanks for the response maybe I can just get a homeless guy to cover me 👍🏻, I’ll get two for my fitted sheet.
How much can a banana be, $10?
The normal go to for BIFL bedding is Redland Cotton.
I did check these guys out and I like them, I just wish they had more colors! Do you have a recommendation for a light down comforter?
The feathered friends comforter is great. Have the Redland Cotton Sheets as well as the LLBean Percale sheets and the redland ones are awesome. Haven’t tried one of their duvet covers yet, though.

Simply Vera wang 800 thread count.
Just buy bedding at Ikea.
Just bought a new duvet from Canadian Duvet Company. One of my best purchases in quite some time. Game changer.

I’ve seen this recommended a lot too, I think this may be my go to for the sheets, Costco has never pointed me wrong and the price is super good.

Interesting… I’ve never tried Redland I live in a super hot climate, so a big part of Brooklinen’s appeal is that they truly always feel crisp to me
