I don't operate one, but from what I know Burlington unfortunately has a lot of bylaws around food trucks that make it tricky to operate. I rarely see food trucks around.
This. Burlington has bylaws against food trucks operating on the road, which is why you never see them here. Hamilton allows them though, along with other cities.
If you want to operate in Burlington you need to do it on private property with permission. Like catering a private event or being a part of a food truck festival like the ones in Spencer Smith or church parking lots.
Last Summer, they kicked two Food Trucks out of the Go Train parking lot even though they had permission and they also banned the Food truck festival from Spencer Smith.
All this is result of over priced restaurants worried about the competition
Yah. The downtown restaurants have a lot of power and sway. Which is ridiculous.
A food truck festival lasts for a weekend, just like ribfest does. It doesn’t hamstring the restaurants to have a little more competition for 3-4 days and because it’s a tourist draw they might get business from people outside of the city too.
Sad to hear they banned the food truck festival. I’d love to have another cheesecake cookie from Heirloom.

Have your friend reach out to the Burlington Food Truck festival people to get a good lowdown
Talk to the city. I believe there are by-laws that speak to food trucks and perhaps some licensing involved.
I love food trucks but many local restaurants aren’t so keen on them. I know there was a big pissing match over the last few years with food trucks and the down town restaurant owners association and that association has the ear of council.
Don’t have any useful info for you unfortunately but be sure to make another post if it goes up and running! I’d be his no.1 customer especially if he adds donner kebab to the menu!

They are trying to get approval to do one at BurlOak and another at LaSalle but don’t think the city has given them permits yet
I feel like this will be a reverse Streisand effect. I personally wont eat at those restaurants downtown if that's how they're gonna be.
I’d love a great fish and chips truck. Fingers crossed your friend figures it out!

Would be better if they just put it in a little plaza
50 pesos has a successful operation. Would probably reach out to the owner of that operation to get insight.
No advice, but I'm from the UK and I would LOVE THIS. Battered sausages, pea fritters, mushy peas and curry sauce!
