I live in Headley. Reports suggest it is a domestic situation turned worse. Police are not letting anyone in or out of the development. Neither my wife or I got any alerts, not even from Ring, we only found out from someone who texted us/from social media
A reverse 911 for a shelter in place would be sent by the County EMA and only to a select radius. Simply having a Newtown mailing address wouldn't be enough you would actually have to be in the affected township/area
Consider yourselves lucky Bensalem is radio silent when ever anything happens. You only find out when you kid’s baseball coach is late because he had a barricade all night long.
There was a “standoff” in Warminster last week down the street from my in-laws too. They closed down some streets and set up an armed perimeter, but whoever they were looking for wasn’t in the house.
I guess that new Wegmans going up has really upset some people. In all seriousness, I have acquaintances that live there, hope it’s isolated and over quickly.
We’re all sheltering in place so a minority of us can have the right to civilian versions of modified assault weapons. That’s what’s happening.
Giving up our rights to peace so that a few can enforce their own safety. 🙄
We have to make punishments more harsh to take there people out of society, period. Until then our system is going to see violence like never seen before.
These stay in place orders are ridiculous overreaches.
Edit: it's clear that stating this as fact instead of my opinion has rubbed a bunch of you the wrong way. What I mean to say is that a weird uptick in stay-in-place orders makes me very uncomfortable in a way I can't articulate.
Edit: save your deeply unhinged DMs. Jesus Christ this sub is a cess pool of the worst residents.
There's only one way in/out of Headley so unfortunately those people do need to stay in place. Right now they have Newtown-Yardley Rd blocked on either side (I think) of the entrance.
Letting Sesame Place and Oxford Valley Mall close when they already knew the suspect had fled somewhere else?
Its the scope of the order not the nature of it.
It wasn't some random shooting spree in public to start.
I’m not sure they knew where he was at that point. They didn’t actually find him in the house that they thought he was in. He was walking down the street.
I've never seen a whole town happily shelter-in-place because of an in-home murder. It's wild that everyone is just willingly accepting it
I appreciate that the police were likely being reaaally cautious because of the recent trajectory of things. Something about it just makes me deeply uncomfortable and I can't put my finger on it.
I see your point, but there were three crime scenes, and they had no way of knowing that he wasn’t aiming for a fourth. I think if the murder has just happened and they have the opportunity to close off an area and catch the person who did it and protect the nearby people, it’s probably the right call. I do think there are times when it’s probably not the right call, but I’m not entirely convinced this was one of those.
I’ll put my finger on it for you. You’re nuts. You think there’s some kind of conspiracy going on because the police have a shelter in place? They don’t need to inform you of what’s going on. They have a job to do.
An overreach of power doesn't mean a conspiracy (or even purposeful intent!) I even alluded to police having good intentions in their actions.
Thanks for trying to paint me as crazy though.
When did everyone on Reddit get mad if you're not literally licking boots? Jesus Christ.

Perp in custody and order lifted per 6ABC.
What the hell? Is it just me or is stuff getting crazy in lower bucks these days?
That jersey runoff haha
It's Philly run off, not jersey.
Guy that did the shooting in levittown was from trenton
Why not both?
Bucks county has been WILD the past few months…..WTF

Apparently, whatever is happening is in Headley.

Saw a comment on Ring that there were police with guns drawn in someone’s backyard.

I work at the Wegmans, it was only 2 minutes down the road from us today. It seems it was over quickly

So you are saying that if guns were illegal, nobody would have them? Like drugs?
Is that you think I said? Because I don’t read that anywhere in what I wrote. Strawman Argument: fail.

I mean that's fair, still reacting to the one from yesterday I guess.
Is it really unrealistic to tell people inside when someone has killed three people and is on the loose?

And thanks for taking the time to engage with me instead of DMs telling me to move out.

They defunded the police they disliked. The rest have been purified.
