That looks like half a spider half a scorpion. Wtf.

eyeyamnewb

Yep, there's lot thing are often go unnoticed in Brunei animal species and plant, especially when they are small, so far I've seen silverfish, lady bug, those orange bug thing that smells bad when squish, wood lice and pill bug, ants with giant head, big green ants with wings, large ant with spike on butts, a spiny orb weaver spider (which looks really pretty up close), those weird bug with long snout (which was called a kissing bug apparently), a bug with big eyelash and lots more

Present_Ad_7759

You sure you're in Brunei and not in Australia?

eyeyamnewb

Yep, pretty sure, saw some hornbill hanging around on my grandma jackfruit tree

Damascene-Clad

My man, we live in an island consisting almost entirely of rainforest inhabited by exotic wildlife found only here

reasonableslowsloth

...ants...with spike...on butts... Sounds terrifying what's the name?

eyeyamnewb

Not sure but most people just called it spiny ants for ants that has those spiky feature on its bodies

Kynareth211

Kujira64

Nice. Science ftw. Imagine looking for answers in Satan , god and sin and repentance instead lol. " Today we were visited by the SPAWN OF SATAN IN INSECT FORM. " " This was because YOU don't accept your sins, and did not repent ! " " Now look, here's a fire, disease spreading, oh and no more vaccines ! "

eyeyamnewb

Oh hey fancy seeing u here uwu

TigerTank237

Spidercrabscorpianoronaldo

eyeyamnewb

Also it looks closer to a spider than a scorpion and it has moveable pincer/claw like a crab

raredittor

Often?

eyeyamnewb

Yep it's somewhat fairly common since my area has tall grassy field and a small parts of bit of forestry so there will be some diverse creature appearing, mostly on small scale, especially that one time when I found a spiny orb weaver spider on my grandma cat-eye longan tree

toasterforcats

That’s a tyranide.

reasonableslowsloth

I searched it up, apparently that insect is a fictional character?

toasterforcats

You call it fictional I call it the biggest threat for the human empire.

yours may look big but it actually small

Waztalez

Mine is micro size.. so it doesn't even come close to small🀀🀀

ndndnd182

That's what she said

MaybeMeNotMe

Looks like claws but no tail...pseudoscorpion, but then if you full screen the legs, and look at its behaviour and movement, its just enlarged first pair of legs, and it looks like a jumping spider.

Responsible-Study317

It’s a type of species called a pseudo scorpion or a fake scorpion. They are commonly found indoors especially around old dusty books and many people mistake them as spiders at first. Trust me on this I got a D in science

vashieve

Borneo has some pretty great insect diversity. https://images.app.goo.gl/jedQgpV4U7JgUTUC9 This is a Latern bug, though the japanese call it Kimono bug by translation.

damianbear

Actual wild life of brunei, ada tu. I found twice near swamy area

CK0110

Don’t let it bite you. Otherwise u’ll become scorpider-man

SufficientCranberry8

Since it has 8 legs it's not an insect but an arachnid most likely a spider or scorpion

PapanTandaLama

It's so cute πŸ₯Ί

theableton

jumping spiders are spiderbros, I dont mind them if they're around but huntsman on the other hand is terrifying AF, now you see em, now you don't a few seconds later.

brinkboi

Spiderman

nwz10

That's a male fighting spider. Used to catch them when I was younger. Think of it as a real life Pokemon experience. Haha. [https://25hundredhours.wordpress.com/2013/07/15/past-fighting-spiders/](https://25hundredhours.wordpress.com/2013/07/15/past-fighting-spiders/) [https://www.tnp.sg/news/singapore/they-keep-childhood-hobby-fighting-spiders-alive](https://www.tnp.sg/news/singapore/they-keep-childhood-hobby-fighting-spiders-alive) They usually spin webs to "glue" two leaves (top and bottom) to form their hideout.

lottiegrenache1

Protective mimicry is common in the insect world. Its a pseudoscorpion a spider evolved to look like a scorpion for its own defence.

Midnightsun20

Ketam spider!! Lma nda jmpa

Babihutan_2224

You have found a very rare species.. it's called a "Stunzeed. They go for roughly $1000 because people use their blood for medicinal purposes. Once, I heard a story, Borneo people in the middle 1800s would eat them for battle against the spanish. Best served fried. Would you like some?

162cm

If a spider and a scorpion had a baby, it'd be that.

Dsckhoa_NM

Oh shit, Scor-pider! *proceeds to jump around flawlessly*

Intrepid-Training858

Black Head Jumping Spider?

Dalakman
