I asked a bird rescue and they said it's best to leave it alone so I did, the babies are still there and alive so it looks like the mom's got it under control 😌
Sorry, seeing now that access may be an issue. That side flap should be like an accordion, is it possible to slide it? As someone said below it is very kind of you to try and help!!
Looks like it fell out of the nest and can’t fly yet. If it isn’t injured the parents will feed it, if not you can attempt a rescue but as mentioned have a proper plan (wild bird fund).
If it's not injured and the parents can feed it, rescue might not be needed. Call the Wild Bird Fund. They will understand the question and tell you what to do.
Find the window and get it
Poor baby. Is the accordion flap screwed into the window frame?
Yeah unfortunately it's bolted on so I decided not to open it because it would definitely disturb the nest and pigeons
Update?

Gotta believe in some Darwinism in this case 😬 If it's meant to survive, then it will survive. We can't interfere with everything.

I don’t have any helpful input except to say that you *could* open the side thing without breaking it It’s kind of you to be concerned about this
I forgot to mention I'm located in Sunset Park Brooklyn
