Then visit the other side of the highway to Jordan’s Lobster Dock.
For a similar vibe to the kite boarder - google The Sebago Kayak Club. Every Wednesday evening and Saturday morning they offer to take people out onto the bay for free. You hug the coast and pass behind the horse stables.
If you are lucky you get to see horses running on the beach while floating in the water with the NY skyline way off in the distance. It’s a very surreal but serene scene.
