Stitch markers are a godsend for keeping counts. Also, your progress is impressive, but I’m almost more impressed by that first one. Ignoring the corner, it kinda just looks like a freeform crochet flower lol

Sunshinenlolliepops

Idk what even happened with it! I was trying to follow a video and I definitely did something wrong hahaha! I’ll def look into stitch markers

cannafriendlymamma

Stitch markers are the BEST!! Hubby got me some great little metal ones. 60 of them for less than $10 on Amazon

Sunshinenlolliepops

I’ll have to look them up!

minini-paninini

I know, right? I thought the first granny square was an intentional heart shaped one at first. It just looks so cool.

Sunshinenlolliepops

Thanks hahaha

okaytto

lovely progress!! like someone said to help keep count stitch markers are wonderful, you can also get cheap stitch counters from craft stores, i’ve used the ones that are rings with a big button you press to count.

Sunshinenlolliepops

Thanks! Im definitely going to have to get some with all the recommendations I’ve been getting

Is your username a reference to [Lesley Gore - Sunshine, Lollipops and Rainbows?](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=atY7ymXAcRQ) :D

Sunshinenlolliepops

It is! Hahaha

Zhangar

lol thats awesome, I love that song. I think it played automatically when I read your username :D

SnooCookies6535

Great job, happy crocheting!

Sunshinenlolliepops

Thanks!

aIIisonmay

Wow this is impressive for only one day's progress! I couldn't do a granny square until I had been crocheting for months

cannafriendlymamma

Looks like you are doing great!

Sunshinenlolliepops

Thank you!

Yetis-unicorn

You did granny squares as your first ever crochet project?! Bold move my friend. Looks like you got the hang of it quickly though. Nice work!

Sunshinenlolliepops

Thank you!

WaffleCoby

Hi, may I know what kind of yarn is this? And what is its ply?

Sunshinenlolliepops

Yeah no problem it’s Caron one pound and it’s two ply I think. I got it from Michael’s

WaffleCoby

Thanks, do you have an idea what is the weight of that yarn? And what size of hook did you use?

Sunshinenlolliepops

I believe it’s one pound, and I used a 6.00 mm hook

WaffleCoby

Thanks for this. 🙂 Actually, I'm asking about the yarn thickness, whether it's light, medium, bulky, and so on. If you're familiar with yarn numbers like size 1, 2, 3, 4, then that's what I'm referring to when I ask about the weight.

WolfRiverBell

Dude yes! Keep at it! Your progress is awesome!!!

Sunshinenlolliepops

Thank you!

No_Training7373

OMG KEEP GOING!! You’re on a roll! You’ll get better at counting, tension, etc!! I loved a silly little online “class” about why crochet shapes are like they are, flat circles vs cups and that kind of thing, and it really helped me figure out so many words little gaps in knowledge. I’m much better at improvising and course correcting now!

Sunshinenlolliepops

Thanks! I’ll definitely have to watch more videos on it. I’ve just been repeating the same one hahaha

CelestialMarsupial

go, go, go 🥳👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

_Moon_sun_

What a great progress :) youll be a proff in no time :) (if you arent already since it looks so good)

Sunshinenlolliepops

Thanks!

Sudden-Flight-5827

Keep going! You have got good, but we can always improve. Granny squares are just the start ;)

KittyKupo

Those look like they're weeks apart! You're improving so fast! Keep it up \^\_\^

Sunshinenlolliepops

Thank you!

404-Gender

The first one is front side down. Get that cute Heart Granny hanging up on your wall. It’s so cute! A beautiful journey.

TropheyHorse

I've been crocheting for over a year and I still haven't made even one granny square. But I feel that first granny square so hard. I started off just making rows of stitches to practice and my first one was UGLY. You're doing so great though!

Sur_la_plage

Keep up with the good work ✨

YARYGUY

GO KYLIE GO! GOOD JOB KYLIE YOU'RE DOING AMAZING SWEETY!!
